I thought it was time to start a thread to show off the great SC4 videos that are out there.  I have four released on YouTube at the moment - some are better than others and I'm not sure any can be considered "great".

Here is the first one I did and which has over 2,300 views at YouTube.  It is a showcase of the City of Kingly in West End and compares it with RL pics from Amsterdam in Holland.

I hope you like it and I hope you will show your videos here as well.

I couldn't pass this opportunity up. You'll want to hear the music. My Video on SAM

This was a tutorial I had planned, when V3 was out. As you can see there is a lot of these type of videos on YouTube.
Even though the music was a remix of a couple of songs, which was made by partyben.com, google giving me a load of problems about it at first because of their stupid ID matching filter to some other song, but there eventually was some negotiation, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing it.

Nice vid-tutorial there j-dub, thanks for showing it.  How do you record the in-game screen?  I'm assuming there's a piece of sortware that does it?

Pat

that was sweet there J-Dub!!! OK as I had promissed here are some of my favorite Video's that I made...

Great Job there Pat - had not seen the simlympics one before - a very nice round up of those host cities.

j-dub

The program I use to record is Fraps, thats why you see www.fraps.com at the top of the screen. However, the game already had a way to record stuff, but it does it by stop motion, and is more time consuming to put together. When you bring up the text box after hitting cntrl-x in game, you can type the word recorder in, it gives you the option to change the amount of frames recorded, and how big you want the framed area recorded. Sounds complicated, doesn't it? With that, I personally prefer Fraps. It seems to record anything in full screen, but only for a certain amount of time.) If your only going to record stuff from SC4, the free version is just fine. However, the buttons in that program needed to be changed for me, since their defaulted to the same buttons SC4 uses.

Wonderful work there on the videos, j-dub and Pat!
They are looking great!!!

Diggis

J-Dub, did you ever post that in the SAM thread, and if not, please do.  That was excellent!

j-dub

Okay, since I know it qualifies, I will.

Okay, since I know it qualifies, I will.

I've seen a couple of your other ones, I would suggest starting a thread for them in the NAM boards.  They are very very well done.

Schulmanator

Some nice work! Here's my latest one. Hope you like it.

Schulmanator - I loved it.  I was chuckling away to myself in parts - and at times I wondered whether it was SimCity or Tropico.  It was really well put together.  A hint to embed the video in a thread.... use http://then%20the%20http%20address%20and%20then

J-Dub - thanks for the link to fraps.  I have used the in gmae "recorder" and as you say it is somewhat time consuming and also limited.  I'll give fraps a try.

To all - I'm enjoying this thread.  The creativity and imagination of the members here at SC4Devotion always impresses me.  It's interesting to see how different people approach their videos in different ways.  I have a few more to post but won't do so yet - because Schulmanator's video deserve plenty more viewing!!

And for anyone thinking of joining in but not sure how to make a video - if you'd like me to put a tutorial together just say and if there's demand I'll see what I can do.

Geeze I didn't know that this thread existed here...

I have too many videos to post.  You can find them all here and select the ones you want to watch.  I use the UDI mode to create a unique perspective of showcasing SC4.
