PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
|
The PEG CSK2 Locks have been updated for use with the PEG PPond Canals and ploppable water. This new lot is a "one lot fits all"... in that it can be used both with the canals and the PPond ploppable water. But wait... There's more. This is also a "2fer" lot... as in 2 for 1... as the same lot now replaces the CSK2 Ocean Lock as well. It can also be plopped along your coastlines and used with the PEG CDK3 & OWW2 coastal collection of lots. That's one less menu icon to scroll around looking for. [YEA !!]
Like the original, the Lock will automatically adjust to various heights of the slope. There's no need for precise terrain editing... although the area above and below the Lock should be level. The new Lock has been reduced in size to only 4 tiles deep... but it is still 2x tiles wide. The upper-level canal section on the original has been removed so the Lock is not limited to use only with the Canals... and it could also be used with any other type of ploppable water or canal style.

DEVELOPER NOTES
|
* Once this new prop pack is installed, be sure to remove the original older PEG CSK2 Lock files and folder. * Any instances of the older Locks in your cities will need to be replopped once the new version is installed. * The new lot uses the same menu icon as the original normal Lock lot. Once the original version is uninstalled, the Ocean Lock version menu icon should no longer appear in your menu. * When first plopped, the models may not appear and you may see only an area of sandy tiles. Don't Panic... the models will appear shortly even when the game is paused.
1. The Lock lot is 4 tiles long. It should be plopped with the orientation arrow pointing uphill. The 1st 3 tiles of the lot should be plopped on the level surface at the top of the slope... with the 4th (rear) tile being on the slope itself. 2. The Lock will automatically adjust to slopes of various heights. If the bottom of the lock is higher than the terrain at the bottom of the slope, then the slope is too high and you will need to lower it. To navigate down from a considerable height, you will have to construct a series of Locks... as in done in the real world. 3. Plopping the Lock on the coast (game water) can be a tad tricky as the lot always tries to reverse the orientation and point out toward the water. Just keep reversing the orientation inland and slightly move the mouse cursor a bit.. and it will eventually orientate inland.
USING WITH PPOND WATER AND PROPS 1. The lot is precisely 4 tiles long so placing water tiles or props at the upper & lower gates should be quite simple. 2. The Lock models are slightly wider than the 2x wide lot... so plopping Mayor Menu terrain props on the adjacent tiles may be difficult. You might find it easier to place your terrain props first... then plop the Lock lot. * Putting RCI zones next to the Lock may have mixed results... depending on what develops on the zone. However, the Lock can be placed adjacent to most ploppable lots like the CDK3 and OWW2 coastal lots. |
