Hello to all, I am the newest member of the Team Downunder
Mrdazza (Darren)
Anyway lest cut to the chaces, you all wont to see what I got, I guess,
Well hear is the Bat I am currently working on, MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground)
Acutely the MCG is the first thing I ever tried when I stubbled across a "3D program" back in 1998 on the net, ever since then 3D modelling as been my hobby of mine, so I have a large backlog of models that I have made over the years. This is my latest attempt, it's differently turning out to be the best.

Hear are some of the other Skippy Bat you can expect over this year
(All of these need texturing as more detail added as well)

Liking the look of the MCG mate! Looks very realistic ;)
Can't wait till you add some textures!
incredible models guy!have you ever mind to create soccer stadiums?because your cricket stadium is very nice! And could be a very modern soccer stadium.grreat job
Darren - great work on the mcg! It's coming along very nicely!
Being a melbournian, ive craved having the mcg and fliders street station in my maps for what it seems forever!
Good luck and hope it works out well.
Cheers, nsa
Hears a tip for anyone that is going to make a stadium, work out how your going to do the seating first, not last like me
.. I just spend the hole day fixing something I messed up
&cry2 :'( &cry2 :angrymore:
Bugger
Like that station. Look forward to see the development of it.
&apls &apls Great project , hope that you finish them.
o.k. this is where I'm up to, I still have to add some more window textures for the privet boxes in the ground but. Some advice is needed on all the other textures, the only part I'm partly happy with at the moment is the roof on the MCC members side of the ground ( The one with the large polls and guide wirers)

That's looking very nice mrdazz
Hell yeah &apls &apls
Looking brilliant mate. Wow, you've captured it beautifully, that is the MCG. So long SC3000 MCG, you've been seriously upgraded.
It's still not as good as my AFL oval though... ;)
Seriously good work, mr_dazza! That's a fine stadium... I can hear the crowd now :D
I'm eagerly awaiting this one,
Adrian.
very fine work Mrdazza
can't wait...
thanks guys,
thingfishs @, it's a ALF assault, it is the greatest game in the world, the rest of the world just don't know about it yet.
Briliant! I don;t see anything wrong with it so far :)
It would be nice to see a cricket pitch in there for half a year, and then the AFL markings showing up for winter ;)
Nice, very nice! I like your BATs !
Looks awesome! will the seats fill with crowds here and there? It be great to soften the white stands here and there...but brilliant job!
That stadium looks amazing!
What crazy sport is that field for? I'm Canadian, so I get confused when sports don't involve some sort of frozen surface.
@ wes.janson - this is a sport totally unknown to nations other than Australia - It's called AFL which stands for Australian Football League. Some people claim it to be a variant of Rugby (before the League-Union split), however the similarities are limited.
Its commonly known as "Footie" in Australia, and "Aussie Rules" in New Zealand. It's not, however, commonly played in NZ (some people may be aware that New Zealand is a seperate country from Australia :P).
@Mr Dazza - you're doing a great job here!
The sport is called 'Australian Rules Football'. The AFL is the national league but it's also played at state, district and school levels. The most similar sport to it that I know of is Gaelic Football. Basically you're trying to get the ball between those posts, between the middle two is 6 points and inside the outer posts is 1 point. It is very much embedded in Australian culture.

Thanks for dropping some knowledge. I learned something new today.

Most aussies I've met claim that the only thing wrong with NZ is that it's above sea level :D

the other wrong thing would be television shows we get fed, like "highway patrol" and "outrageous fortune" ??? :P
QuoteWhat crazy sport is that field for?

No-one straps you down and forces you to watch them. We also receive such nonsense as "Home and Away" and "Kath and Kim". :D
You have to make a cricket version!!! We need a cricket stadium on this game!!
Will
Thanks for all your nice comments hopefully it will be finished in the next week or so, been very busy at work lately so I haven't had the time to finish it,

?How do you know :D :D
Wonderful work on that stadium, totally loving it! :)
Maybe you could do a version with a tennis field? :)

Well it is the grates game in the world
I would also like to point out that there is no off side rule, its a 360 degree game, you can run any where at any time, it is a very high scoring game as well, 15 to 20 goals should win you the match, depending on who you are playing, the two arcs you see represent 50 Meters, Most AFL players can kick 50 Meters or more.
There are actuly two ex-ALF player going around in the NFL Ben Graham, and Anthony Rocker, Ben Graham clam to fame is he could kick the ball 90 Meter, he was a o.k player i guess, kicking is not everything in ALF
Also my logo hear is the western bulldogs logo a team in the AFL, if you are going to support at team, I think every one should support them
That looks so good. All your work seems to be of the highest Australian-BATs quality I've seen, though there isn't as much of that around as there should be.
But I've got to request the cricket version, too. Bigger fan of cricket than footy.:$
I wonder if its possible to make the actual ground a prop that changes from cricket to footy markings in March, and then back again in October or something, and how that would influence the shadows, etc.
