Title: Is there anyway to help the unluckiest guy in SC?
Post by: thingfishs on March 28, 2010, 03:36:47 AM
I have a problem, more of annoyance really; but I'm sure my feelings pale in comparison to what this guy's going through...
He is pulled from his car and thrown onto/into the passing pavement, building, pole... whatever's there really. Somehow he manages to pull himself back into the car (to rush to the emergency gravel rash dept. presumably), when he is pulled out again and thrown aside once more. This drama plays out for him 24/7... he must really be thick skinned. If that wasn't bad enough, somehow there are a bunch of him, all going through the same thing simultaneously.
It's not as if he hasn't got enough to worry about, choosing as he does to drive around with two massive, triangular (plastic?) protrusions attached to the front of his car. Lights you say, I beg to differ. ;)

So my question/request is whether it's possible to isolate and block this saga from appearing at all? Also is there a maxis automata blocker (bar civics etc)?
I have noticed this car behaves a bit differently to regular automata, it tends to be stuck in more concentrated loops. I guess it's not representing an actual worker/job or civic type trip, but is some kind of "bonus" thrown in. And what's with the light's? No other cars seem to suffer from this (I do have a lot of other automata installed though, maybe there are other default ones that aren't getting through)

here he is about to get it from two poles at once. These two cars just do permanent loops of my ferry terminal. non-stop

here they are in a loop around my university, why just around the uni? I'm starting to feel there's a link but I can't see what it is?

Does this occur in a no-plugins situation? If not, I recommend you find (if you can) all the automata plugins and find out which one/which combination causes it. Unless someone can recognise the mod/model then there's no other way to figure out what it is.

um, I was fully assuming that this is a maxis car. I'm not aware of having downloaded automata complete with animations, I could be wrong though, I'll check.

Hello

I'm thinking that Maxis does not have a car with a sun roof ... I could be wrong though (as I often am) ... Nevertheless, I'm with joelyboy911 on this. Divide and conquer your plugins.

I can't say anything about this particular car, but the driver being pulled out of his car in an animation cycle is one of the Maxis crime animations, which usually can be "resolved" by sending a police car to the place of the crime.

legend, works perfectly

As soon as they heard the sirens they scampered, by the time the police had arrived they were gone. ;) I thought there was more to it. Thanks to joel & jim for your help, I got as far as removing all my automata and seeing that they were still at it.

As for the "lights", do other people not have this problem? All other cars only have their lights on at night whereas these ones drive around with them on all day, and look pretty silly. Personally I don't think the bonnet antler-fin look is going to take off...

lol.. interesting.. I've never seen it in my 6+ years of playing it.. I thought it must surely NOT be Maxis, but it seems you've proven that.. :)
