Introduction:

Welcome to Serban, an independant state south of New York. Serban is mostly rural, however more and more large cities are engulfing the region. This CJ will move around Serban as if you were on a road trip, and will show how the region expands from the small area of land to a thriving metropolis.

*NOTE*: I have the LHD version of the game, so my roads might look slightly different to RHD Sim Cities.

Update 1: East Shelbyton

Since I had some spare time today, I thought I'd just go ahead and post the first update. Thank you to all you people who have read my introduction. ;)

Once we leave the house, we make an immediate right down the B1990.

The B1990 terminates at the A19, offering us to go either left or right. Both lead to Greenglade.

Now we approach the M19. We would go straight on through to Central, but we feel rather peckish...

After leaving the services, we join the M19, which is currently being extended. All roads in this area have the area code 19.

Update 2 - A trip through Greenglade

In this update, we will take a detour through Greenglade on our trip to Central. Greenglade was made as an alternative place for people to live rather than Central, however the idea didn't catch on and as such Greenglade only has sixty residents. Anyway, without anymore blabbering on, here are some pics:

We enter Greenglade along the M19, an immediatly turn off at Junction 3.

After turning onto the A180, we continue South. All roads in Greenglade Co have area code 18.

After leaving Greenglade, we now turn off the A19 onto the A181.

Finally, we join the express lanes of the M10. This sign shows directions for both the Express and the Collector lane.

Hopefully you enjoyed this update. Next time we will focus on more urban areas and the regions largest city, Central.

Your MD proves that you have a great sense for the transportational aspect of the game - your roads are very realistically done. Great update!

Update 3 - M is for Map

This update will take a short break from the road trip and focus on something else I have been working on - a detailed map. As I live in the UK, I have based it on Ordance Survey - the UKs mapping agency, who can be found here: http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/ (http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/). Hopefully you will like it, but as this is my first map, there may be some technical hitchs. Any comments are appreciated.

Update 4 - Welcome to Central

This update will resume the road trip. In this update we enter the regions biggest city - Central. Central is the political capital of the region, and as a small commuter airport. Central has a very good elevated rail transport system, and currently that is the fastest way to get around the city.

As we enter Central, eletronic signs alert motorists to slow down to 45 mph.

It's begginning to get dark. As we continue along the express lanes, motorists in the collecter lane have an exit for Central's political center, university and airport.

The collector lanes end and can region the main carrigeway. We take the exit here and turn left.

Update 5 - Welcome to Central pt 2

In this update we will continue are trip through Central, continuing from where we left off. I think this will be the last "old" style format. It takes me too long to make all the signs and when I'm done I hardly have enough energy to upload it. From hereinafter I think I will go for a more "traditional" road geekery approach - a mix of the excellent Greater Terran Region and Tarkusian Cities, by Haljackey and Tarkus. But don't worry - more road-geekery assured.

As we push forward, we go passed the Central police station. Crime has become a major issue in Central recently.

The avenue bends round houses, business's and appartments. A major avenue makes a transition from sunken to elevated. We join it and go north along the elevated section.

The avenue terminates on University Road. The univercity is visible at the top of the screen.

The univercity in further detail. It has good transit connections and small C$ shops serve the students.

Next to the univercity is Central airport. It is owned by the College of Aerodynamics, which is situated inside the univercity.

Exiting the univercity is the A1088, perhaps the worst RHW in the whole region.

The road arrives at a round-about. We take the right. This takes us (eventually) to an interchange along the M1.

On the approach to the M1, the road spans over a railway line.

It quickly dips to interchange with another section of the city. The traffic is terrible, and the interchange needs major upgradings.

Great job on the roads! can I just mage one suggestion? Get rid of the maxis airport and either use one of the AC team's prefab airports (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1664) (fully functional) or the RMIP-2 system found on the STEX (eye candy only)

Looks good, although your roads are a little bumpy. I would suggest leveling your terrain and using a slope mod for your future routes.

I'll be keeping my eye on this one, very entertaining thus far!

I think I've said it before but I am still amazed by the sign graphics you put into the pictures.
