Nice pictures. I took your suggestion of replacing the roads with streets and I also made the split ave a mave-4 and I'm quite pleased with the results.

Where can I find that intersection puzzle pieces?

I think I may have forgotten to download something, as I don't seem to have those turning lanes while I do have the widening mod.
I also installed the new version of the euro textures, yet still they are yellow... :s
Ideas?
^ Those turning lanes aren't part of the NWM mod, instead they are part of the TuLEP mod, which you can select while installing NAM. Also, to fix the euro textures problem, try to put more "z" to the beginning of the "z_Euro Road Textures Mod" folder, like this: "zzzz_Euro Road Textures Mod".

^ This.
@cubby420
I know I know. The town grew up around the rail line and it isn't easy to relocate the line. I don't think I have room for underpasses.
Well, we'd need to see a further zoom, by I notice that in this area you have one tile of clearance between the heavy rail line and parallel roads. You could use hole digger lots to build a trench for the rail line, and use simple NAM avenue and road puzzle pieces over the top, similar to what I did here (an couple of old MD pics):
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg338.imageshack.us%2Fimg338%2F179%2Fslide08i.jpg&hash=d5cf1bde4d55841158ea3b2e89e4eec59a669348)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg259.imageshack.us%2Fimg259%2F463%2Fslide07.jpg&hash=5179091e584fbb9a83869c20177f75d58a273708)
And, if that idea doesn't float your boat, exploring the NAM underpass menu a bit might surprise you. They are more useful than simple straight paths under other networks - there are a variety of curves and underground intersections that make transit networks much more flexible. Your GLR needs are even accounted for in the underpass menu.

Nice MD pictures. I see you're from Chicago like myself. Is that suppose to be downtown Hammond,IN? :D
@cubby420: You can see from the image below that I have a problem. There is a lot of development near the rail and connecting industry etc. Also there is a wide-curve rail junction nearby. Sinking all that would not be straight-forward. I would need to demolish a lot of expensive development including the GLR/Ave and main business area to make room for underpasses. It is a puzzle but there are far too many level crossings you are right.
PS. those light coloured appartment buildings with the green roofs next to the Jefferson St. Crossing are particularly nice. Do you remember what they are?

I like it too, looks a lot more realistic and better!
Much better dahamec! I bet the flow is better as well. As for the green roofs from my pics...I think you'll find what your looking for here (http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/somy000/index.htm). The site can be confusing, but the page numbers are at the bottom. There are tons of great goodies from SOMY there.
hi guys
i'd like to show mave-6 in my city

the bus stop in the centre is used for mave-6, with a extra bus lane, and of course with path on it. so i can drive my bus into the bus lane ;)
sorry for those trees along the mave-6. some of them occupy a part of road... :P
Nice Brianwy! I especially like the busstop!
Oh wow, that is awesome! Is that the world famous Nuclear Starbucks across the street from the bus stop?? :D

I find the bridge at STEX:WMP Abteibruecke (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/files/file/26541-wmp-abteibruecke-cloister-bridge/)
Let's revive this old tread :P

Nicely don! Inspiring ;)
That's a fine avenue you've got there, Delta. Did you do what I think you did? $%Grinno$%
Here is the central (curently) avenue in one of my cities:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg46.imageshack.us%2Fimg46%2F9189%2Fcorissos1.jpg&hash=9a65c05bc764a94b516be964515446e115b63574)
Not anything great yet, but the city is still small, and the avenue already has "High" traffic, as all residential areas are directed there, creating favourable conditions for commercial development. The residential areas are arranged in an "arterial", rather than "grid" layout. Take a look in the zones view:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg685.imageshack.us%2Fimg685%2F8481%2Fcorissos2.th.jpg&hash=4870a1c9c66454b8a5754a134d12c3f465705f73) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/corissos2.jpg/)
Taller buildings are expected to grow along the avenue as population grows; zones are 2x3 (to make up 4x3 lots) and 3x3.

If you think, that I seperated the MAVE6 in two and placed some canal in between, then you're right ;)
Good strategy, Cogeo. This way, the residents are forced to use the avenue to travel across town rather than using the side streets to get everywhere. Excessive use of the side streets seems to be a flaw inherent in the grid method both in SC4 and RL. It seems like many drivers in my area use side streets to avoid busy intersections and traffic lights, but they end up clogging up the neighborhoods as a result.

I knew it! ;D I use that technique for variety sometimes.
A nightshot of a central avenue intersecting with an avenue overpassing some RHW.

Just finished building a 6 lane avenue which transitions into a RHW-6C to go over a rail line.

That's one glorious looking avenue there, Hal!
art128: Thanks!
I decided to just go with it and complete the avenue. Made a mosaic to display it because why not? :P

No, that's a lot better than classic!

I can barely see an avenue here :D
It reminds me a joke:
" - What a beautiful forest, isnt' it?
- I can't see, trees veil everything"
