Hmmm... It is only me or those R$$$ sims are really annoying ? I am running a lightly modded SC4 version (SC4 RH, NAM plugin and a couple more of eye candy lots), but I'm still not getting a reasonable behaviour, regarding their commuting and jobs preferences. Apart from living on their clean an shine suburban homes, on high desirability zones and plenty on amenities and 5-star public transport, they:
1. Refuse to take any public transport, even if living next to it, and drive their cars through long and winding routes to work and then complain about commuting times;
2. Although highly educated (EQ>180), they refuse to work on the next door HT industry at all; instead, they either go long distances towards downtown C$$$ buildings or simple commute away to the outer world (to SimNation or even a crappy neighbour town (!) I have);
3. After some unemployment ZOTs, they abandon and/or downgrade their houses. Some time later, they come back and repeat this cycle over and over.
I know that someone has noticed this long ago (I am returning to the game after some years away), but is there any MOD (which I am unaware of) that changes this stupid behaviour ? Either to make those little bas***** to take the HT jobs (should be around 10%, right ?) or to make them a little bit more mass transit friendly and not run away to the neighbours at the drop of a hat ?
Thanks all !

Which traffic simulator are you using? Switching over to Simulator Z solved most of those problems for me.
Let me see... plugins folder... mine has something with the excerpt "Traffic_Plugin_C_Standard_2xCapacity" on its name so I guess it is simulator 'C'. I know also that the original RH appears to have a similar problem (because I've tried it before installing the NAM). I guess I'll give a try to 'Z' simulator then, many thanks for your suggestion.
And also there seems to be a mod somewhere around that alters the IHT jobs in HT buidlings. But I don't know if you need it, because maybe CAM already could be taking care of that. I just don't know..

CAM 2.0 includes it, but not CAM 1.0.

OK, but CAM 2.0 hasn't been released yet, right?
that's right... there's always things to look forward to :)

@RippleJet: The link mentioned above is empty.. :'( .. is there any other place I could get the file from ?
By the way, does it work in conjunction with CAM (v 1.0, anyway) ? If it does, should it be loaded *before* or *after* CAM itself ?
Thanks again

The screen probably scrolls down when the pictures of that page are loaded...
Thus, be sure to scroll down to post #284277 and check the bottom lines of it.
Here's a direct link to that attachment:

Ops, my bad... &ops I didn't scrolled until the bottom of the post. Sorted out now.
Out of curiosity: how are you editing the exemplars ? Do you have a custom tool or are you using the "good old hex editor" and guessing the fields ? I suppose things are much more streamlined nowadays than they were some years ago.
Tks :thumbsup:
I always had issues with commute time related abandonment, my R$$$ sims still do a lot of stupid stuff, but with Simulator Z and the CAM my abandonment problem is almost entirely eliminated. The only abandonment I have in my current city is related to a commute that covered a distance more than half the length of a large tile and was only possible by car. The neighborhood fixed up nicely as soon as I added a subway station, HSR line and a new road bridge across the river into my downtown business area.
