Welcome to The Four Great Lakes Region!!! As its name suggest, this region is largely comprised of four great Lakes:
1. "Easternlake" Lake, the largest lake
2. "Northernlake" Lake, the second largest lake
3. "Westernlake" Lake, the third largest lake
4. "Southlake" lake, the smallest one.
It is unclear how and when the first settlers start building the capital and the only city in the region, "Fourlake" City. It was presumably around 16th century that the first European settlers settled here. However the earliest map available to trace back is that of 1777. The economy of Fourlake City was pretty stagnant and much of the economy was supported by the agricultural sector. The city itself are still dominated by small low residential area and much of it were still underdeveloped.
However, everything started to change when the heavy industries sprang up amid the euphoria of industrial revolution...

As what have been told above, the earliest map that could be trace back about the existence of Fourlake city is that of 1777. Fourlake city was just a small settlement and It is unknown what was the population back then. However, 20 years since then, Fourlake City had grown steadily with 10.000 inhabitants living in the city. Much of them were farmers:

Despite its location surrounded by four great lakes, fishing and boat industries are non-existent. Legend has it that when the first generation of settlers inhabited there, some bizzare lake monsters constantly attacked and ate up those who dare to explore the lake. Up until now, nobody dare to swim or even fish the lake. Other legend soon followed that in the middle of Easternlake there exist an island known as Easternlake Island. It was allegedly that an explorer named P.V. Harold had found the island, but nobody else could confirm the discovery as even the explorer existence are doubted to ever exist:

The euphoria of industrial revolution gave big impact to the city. The first coal power plant in the city were built and for the first time the citizens could enjoy electricity right in their homes!

However the expansion of industrial sector were not overseen very well. Standard of practice were still very low, and soon fire broke out:

Welcome to the MD word, hand15 ! It's a great MD you have there, I liked every pictures you posted there.
You have some good graphics there, I love the design of the pictures. The storyline is really a great touch.

With regard of the discovery of this new Island, the Mayor had ordered the relocation of industrial zone to the new Island.

Very soon, most of the island had been occupied by factories and plants. The city also built a bridge connecting the Island with mainland:

On top of the island built two new oil powerplant for the city as power demand began skyrocketing:

The old industrial zone were now being transformed into commercial zone. Thanks to the booming industry and commerce, a lot of immigrants began flocking into the town.

By the year 1805, Fourlake City had population of about 30,000 inhabitants, tripled from the previous 10,000 inhabitants 8 years ago (1797). The agricultural sector also expanded rapidly.

Unfortunately, Last week, My computer started behave weirdly~
Whenever I play games and run programs that require heavy usage of graphic card, the graphic will become choppy and sometimes it would crash and the blue screen of death appear :'(
I think it has got to do with my graphic card (pretty old though; Geforce 7600GT bought four years ago).
But it's only 3 months till my graduation and I'm planning to leave this country for good (Taiwan)~ buying new graphic card would not be a wise decision.
So until then I think I can't play my Simcity :'(, except if I find someway to fix my graphic problem.
Oh no! What a pity, I discovered this awesome MD just in time for...it to be interrupted by computer problems. That is the way of life though sometimes, isn't it? ::)
I hope your graphics issues can be worked out soon. I'll be keeping an eye out for updates. I love your post-production work on those photo's...great stuff.

To bad....I hope you can continue/restart an MD after your move.
