Post by: jigsaw on April 17, 2010, 05:11:10 PM
i my mod project is slowly moving along and i have come to a point where i need some expert advice again.

im wondering if you can change the font colour of the UI? particularly the city names, date, and the mayor region stats, ordinances areas etc.

Yes, but not within the UI itself...
You'd have to change the font(s) in the "fonts.ini" file,
which is a SimCity_1.dat internal file at TGI 0x00000000, 0x4A87BFE8, 0x2A87BFFC.

Here's a quote from the explanation/introduction of that file:

;    Color=r,g,b             Requests a font with the given foreground RGB color. Values are in the range of integers of 0-255, inclusive. Example: Color=234,12,0

Note also that different fonts are used for Far Eastern languages.
Thus, any mod you make that includes an override to the fonts.ini file in the western version of SimCity_1.dat, would not be compatible in the Far East.

it's an old topic, but it's the same problem.

im working on a new GUI again, and i have returned to this topic to read it again in full. i have gone to the .ini file that has been mentioned here, read it thoroughly and have attempted to edit it as such, but nothing changes in the game.

- can anyone give this a crack?/has anyone done this at all yet?

assistance/guidance is sought. please PM me if you can help
