Title: Overhanging Props
Post by: armagin on May 06, 2010, 11:35:15 PM
So I've got this great idea on my work today and I'm all geared up to make it happen tonight but I need to create some overhanging props... I can't for the life of me get this to work! I kind of know my way around the LE and BAT and would like to learn more, any help pointing me towards how to create these overhanging props would be so AWESOME!

Cheers

What kind of object are you trying to make? I know two methods to make an overhanging prop: an easy and a hard one, depending on what you are making.

I am trying to make a prop that overhangs a transit lot by one or two tiles thank you.

If you're batting the prop yourself, then you need to render it offset.
Move the model and the LOD off center (16 m for one tile) in gmax before rendering it.

If the prop model is already done, things become a bit more complicated...
More info can be found here (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=4093.msg128642#msg128642) and it's easiest done with Cogeo's Model Tweaker (//http://). :)

The most difficult way would be to make them RKT4 props (instead of RKT1).
That subject is briefly covered in this post (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=4789.msg162006#msg162006).
