Title: Itunes closing automatically while playing sc4
Post by: bob56 on May 25, 2010, 01:57:25 PM
Hi, I hope this is the place for this...

For some reason I am unable to run itunes at the same time as sc4. The computer is new and can easily handle both.

What happens is
1. I open itunes and start music
2. I start sc4
3. I'm playing sc4, but in one or two songs iunes automatically closes.

When I'm in the city, I just minimize, reopen itunes, and continue. But the same thing happens in one or two more songs. I was wondering why itunes keeps closing.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, quad-core AMD Athlon 2.6, 6 gigs of ram. (hp 6210y)

Thanks for the help!!!

I think there is a conflict with one of your programs. Try using Windows Media Player or copy your music into the SC4 Directory and enable custom tunes.

That's what I assumed. Thanks for confirming this.

Meanwhile, I've started using WinAmp. This works fine with SC4, so I'll probably just stick to that.

I think the notice for the latest Itunes update said that the fix included had something about programs conflicting with it, if you want to know.

The funny thing about this game is how it behaves with music. I do both itunes and custom tunes. It seems itunes radio is fine, but when there is a song file SC4 does not like, if played in itunes, it will just close down, if played from SC4's MP3 player, it will just skip the song. If anyone else is reading, your not going to be able to have wav's, MPEG-4 or other sound files of different type in the SC4 music folders, because those are incompatible with SC4.

However, I have not had this happen since the update.
