Welcome to my first MD. It won't be limited to a single region, I will collect all of my work here.
I started to play SC4 right after its coming out. I played more or less regulary for 2 years. I finished playing because gameplay and modding possibilities were very limited at that time, and all of my cities ended in a very similar grid structure. I had no more idea to build. I had a CJ of my first region at Simtropolis, but it's lost during the inactive years.
I restarted to play one and a half year ago, and I found the huge amount of custom content released meantime, and releasing continuously. With these new possibilities I started my new region, Archipelago.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg204.imageshack.us%2Fimg204%2F4079%2Fmdarchipelago0.png&hash=68a95717a784d64b1b02d1e2c0303bf68e077d41)
Goal is to be realistic and coherent.
I started this region long time ago, and now its finished. From its beginnings I have only few images. Later it will be much better documented.
On these first images I recorded the first case when there were more good custom content in my screen, than original.

Please comment, the road is very long to become Classic ;)
Welcome to the MD threads kodlovag.
Overall, a couple of good pic's to start things off. Great to see you have captured the trains, you sometimes need some patience to get them to show up where you want, but it certainly adds to the image.
Yes it is a long way to the classics but if you can stick with it, certainly an achievable goal.
Can I suggest that in future that you take your pic's when out of pause, minimise the toolbar and turn off the U-Drive It feature. Doing that will make your pic's look all that better.
Goodluck and interested to see how this progresses.
Dave
PS: Please refer to my PM of today
Plenty of details, good start
Lovely start! I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Oh, nice startup.
...but I would turn the icons for the "you drive" missions off.
Very nice start!!!
RepliesDave (tooheys): Sometimes I spend a whole hour just with watching my cities and planning the next steps. Usually I make the images at this time. I can be very patient to wait for the best moment. And if I miss the moment and don't like the captured image, I can wait even more for the next moment.
Terring7: Thank you
Battlecat: I will regularly update. Come back frequently!
Skimbo: Thank you for the suggestion. These are old images, at that time I didn't realized that it is possible to turn off the UDI indicators. Same applies on the grid. Please tolerate them for a cuple of more updates, then they will disappear.
Tomas Neto: Thanks

Update 1This is the moment, when I first time could develope the coastline. Years ago this was simply impossible. We had just 1 seaport and 1 beach...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg844.imageshack.us%2Fimg844%2F1852%2F090414cityonhillside.jpg&hash=cee240f8e136977d019998d98f8212a71756801a)
First time, when I used canals. In a dirty industrial environment...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg23.imageshack.us%2Fimg23%2F2308%2F090415dam.jpg&hash=67f704fa4b9029b7035292ec9b51f4b01fe46f3a)
And finally the first image showing an entire city. When I took this shot I really liked it. That was the moment I decided that any and all of my future cities must have a realistic zoom 1 view. Furthermore developments must be done to reach a realistic region view. It means I will never ever build in the whole area of a city with skyscreepers. Suburban, rural and industrial developments are equally important.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg375.imageshack.us%2Fimg375%2F8898%2F090423highside.jpg&hash=a862b72e98dbc90c7a65d2f8d193ad59d59a85aa)
Very interesting start indeed.
I would like to make a few suggestions.
Turn off your pause button when taking pictures or down load this neat little modd, SMP Yellow Pause thingy remover by TheQuiltedLlama. (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=18680) Also, turn off the grid when taking pics.
One of the things I don't like the most is when sidewalks turn from red to grey depending on the wealth beside it. So for this I would recommend you try using JRJ Sidewalks Mod by jeronij (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=36) or JRJ Street side Mod by jeronij (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=115), the second is by far my favourite and I use it all the time.
Otherwise, very nice start.
Robin
Good start. The waterfront is very nice. You are right, the game was so limited when it came out.
Love the update! I particularly like that little beach you created with simpeg's materials. I like how it turned out tucked in between the docks like that. I also really like your use of canals and green space in this urban area. It's very visually appealing.
RepliesRobin (rooker1): Thank you for the Pause Line Remover, very useful mod. I'm actually using the JRJ Sidewalk mod, but you are right when you say wealth depending sidewalk textures don't look good. So I changed it to the common medium wealth version. I tried the JRJ Street side mod, but I didn't like the jrj trees. I'm using the SFBT street side mod instead. Trees are much more variable in this mod.
RickD: Thanks
Battlecat: Welcome back

Update 2 - The Old City CenterI started to write this post a day ago, and when I inserted the pictures I found they quality is simply not good enough to display them. Yellow pause lines, grid, UDI icons, many scene setup sould be better... Although this is a finished region, and I archived it month ago, I decided to load it back again to make better images. It was a hard work to rebuild the 1.7GB size plugin directory to display everithing correctly without brown boxes or mod conflicts. But I think its worth the time, the new images are much better. I kept some older too. Hope you like them.
From this point each update will be started with a zoomed out screenshot of the area.

hey kodlovag
WOW! I like the satellite view. That region looks like an enjoyable way to spend time. I guess you downloaded the island from somewhere. I'll have to find it.
I think my favorite picture (other than the region view) is the short beach you did for update 1.
I like this diary and looking through the pictures left me feeling upbeat. . .

The landscape is almost surreal, but I must say I quite like it. Some very nice shots indeed of the roads climbing and descending steep hills, and I think the garbage processing facility is well done.

What a beautiful city. These are some nice night pics. You have a really nice mix of buildings laid out very well.
Awesome night shots.
Surreal is not a bad thing, I quite like that quality in your MD. :)
Some great night shots in this update.
Very unique and cool city. The CBD certainly cuts a stunningly bright skyline at night. If I may make one suggestion, you should take pics with the game playing as opposed to paused - your wonderfully designed networks look empty ???
Really fantastic night shots!!!
Repliesgreckman: Thank you
RickD: Thanks
kwakelaar: I'm glad you like it
cubby420: Actually pics was taken with the game playing. Roads look empty, because the usage is low. Most of the commute done in subway, train and tram networks, they are really crowded. But roads always used under their capacity, almost every road is green on the map, although I'm using the Low version of the traffic simulator. Maybe I should do something with the automata simulator, cars disappear too fast.

I like cities with plenty of green spaces
Just an idea, replace some of the empty green places with trees, trail parks, ponts e.t.c.. This will make the city looks more naturalistic and may bring more Sims.
Awesome mosaic. I like the transit layout....nice and complex but still makes sense.
Great work!
Robin
I just like your MD ;)
It's always beautiful to see some mosaics roaming around
That's an AWESOME mosaic! I really like how you've used the HK BATS so well, they really suit the surroundings!
Very cool mosaic! Your layout is expertly done and very believable. I'll agree with Terring's suggestion of more trees and parks though. It could add that little extra splash of life that seems to be missing.
RepliesRobin (rooker1): I laid down the networks before I started to build zones. I spent a lot of time with it.
peter007, nedalezz: Thanks
Terring7, cubby420: Well, you're right. I'm weak at building parks, but trying continuously. At this moment I think I simply don't have the necessary custom content, or I don't know how to use it to reach the target. I studied many other MD to learn this. I will focus more work on parks in my following cities.

Awesome pictures! And I like how you made the highway interchange.
One thing, you should be careful with the PEG Beach things. They have caused Prop-Pox in 2 people that I know regions.
And one quick question; Where did you get the houses in the last pic?
Repliesmarsh: Thanks. These days nobody makes normal highway interchanges, but I think RHW is not so much better than Maxis highway, especially if we are talking about interchanges. The houses on the last pics come from three sources: Some 1x1 lots from Maxis. That's easy. Other 1x1 lots made by c.p., you can find them at the LEX, Early 19th century houses, R$$. Remaining 1x2 lots were done by Diamond 1x2 Lots for Somys houses (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=19744).

MR.Y: Well, I know there is a huge amount of signs at simtropolis, but I only have blues. No. The true reason is that our factories can only process blue colors. No. The only true reason is that our city planner, who was responsible for safe transporting, was actually color-blind. These are the rumors, but nobody knows the truth.
I sent you a private message about the Virgin train.

And now, lets take a step. I really liked the Archipelago region, but I found it is so different from cities I see here in Europe. So I decided to collect new buildings and mods. I will start a new region and will build it in true W2W style, without Maxis buildings. (I will only keep industry) My goal is to replace all the four building sets with a new W2W set. Not so easy, than it sounds. We need all combination of R-Cs-Co / $-$$-$$$ / Stage 1-8 buildings and lots. For all the 4 building sets. That requires hundreds of buildings and lots. But it is possible to do it.
I decided to make the following four styles:
Boston: These are old US style buildings, most similar to Chicago style in game. Probably I will keep some Chicago building for this set.
Amsterdam: Dutch and UK style buildings.
Wien (Vienna): Mix of buildings from France, Germany and Central Europe.
Mediterranean: Southern European style from the Mediterranean coasts.
At this moment there are only low and mid size buildings in the sets, this is primarily because skyscrapers are very unusual in Europe. But later, when there is enough demand in the region I will add them.
Of course these sets must be tested first before use. At this first post I will show you the starting phase of the Test Region, created only for testing the building sets. No any special mods, just the buildings. Not even the NAM installed. And here comes
Update 12 - The test city of Boston building setPlease do not expect any city beautification in this early phase, no mods are installed to do it. This is just for testing the buildings.
First picture shows the suburbs. Mainly CP's early 19th century houses.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg100.imageshack.us%2Fimg100%2F7140%2F100310tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=ec3b937c23e99206f8b1f7ba487ac585519380f5)
And the first mid-rise buildings
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg231.imageshack.us%2Fimg231%2F7140%2F100310tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=55004c2ecd477d00df3c6bca4f4dd9458a838ec6)
At this point I break the rules. And put the first mod in. A self-made sidewalk mod to improve the scene.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg64.imageshack.us%2Fimg64%2F7214%2F100312tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=24b7199fd3c6da59a3f691cf0fe48c0ef92551b5)
And then a building set selector mod.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg816.imageshack.us%2Fimg816%2F7214%2F100312tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=6b8f55fcc9fa118b5a6bed50bda50b98416541ed)
This is the beginning of the Boston test city. As you can see, it is very strong in the $ line, and week in the $$$ line, but it is a full set. (Except CO stage 1-2, I forced to keep the maxis ones)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg88.imageshack.us%2Fimg88%2F4766%2F100311tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=902e4c2fbd16bafae82ae5883c477dc4d77c7ef2)
Finally here is the region view. One city for each building set.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg812.imageshack.us%2Fimg812%2F7214%2F100312tilesettestboston.jpg&hash=ef61628d47ca6bf8ebafbfc3c7c57855edea08b2)
What do you think? Please comment.
Nice but could you zoom in in your sidewalk mod it sounds interesting to me.
WOW, this city is wonderfull.
Congratulations. &apls &apls
Repliespeter007: There is a closer zoom image in the current update. The texture is a BSC texture, used in the BSC park series. I changed the sidewalk textures, and also changed the $ and $$ base textures. Furthermore overlay textures matching to the base textures were modified too, otherwise several lots could look really ugly with textures changing from tile to tile. I'm planning to modify the RTMT textures too.
kalvar: Thank you

Well, testing was useful, I found many errors in the plugins. Some buildings appear wrong; some lots grow everywhere, however they should only grow at corners; and there is a mysterious building (or more) which disappears from its lot regularly when other buildings grow nearby. I must repair a lot of things.
Update 13 - The test city of Amsterdam building setI don't want to repair now, so I start collecting errors from the Amsterdam set. Here is the start of Amsterdam Test City.

Wow, your doing a lot of new stuff for your MD. :) Cool mod's you made. Can't wait for more.

Update 14 - Wien
Boston and Amsterdam are still small, and require more population in the region to continue growing. So here is the 3rd city, Wien.
I already found some building, which won't be included in the final set. They looked good, when I downloaded them, but how simply don't fit to the pack.

wetsom: Thank all of you for your support. And please keep commenting.
kalvar: I already dreamed about uploading this mod somewhere, when it's finished. I'm just calling it SC4 Wall to Wall Edition ::). But it contains many peoples work, I should ask all of them for approval. Furthermore the mod is ~400MB at this moment, +dependencies. Most of them (building examplars, lots) are modified to fit to each other. And still contains errors. So it would be great to upload, but I don't know at this moment will it ever be possible or not.
marsh: I spent many time to build the sets. Actually months. You just see the results in this MD, and the set still continuously changes. And now I show the last set too.
NorbyToG: Please don't stop your CJ, it's definitely not a crap. This MD was partly started because I liked your CJ, and I also wanted to make something as good as yours.

The Boston set does have a nice New england feel. :P
On the Rome set, I would remove some of the excessively vibrant buildings. I'm mostly talking about those florescent pink ones... &mmm
,marsh
Congratulations to your OSITM! &apls
Should have come here earlier, I like what I see. You do have a good hand for transition from rural / low density to medium density without making the W2Ws too dense (which is usually my mistake). And letting them all grow halfway the way they should is really a time consuming art.
I also love your rural areas, the change from small seddlements to fields, forrests and "empty spaces", it just feels right.
Take care my friend and don' forget to make updates!
Á viszontlátásrá!
Bernhard
Very beautiful rural areas
just great
Repliesmarsh: Well, you are not the first who didn't like them. I will remove the pink ones, before starting my new region. I will keep the blue ones, because many of them are office, and I have very low variety of offices.
Bernhard (Nardo69): Thank you. Have you lived in Hungary?
peter007: Thank you too.

Update 17 - Amsterdam #2OK, we are circling around in the region. Amsterdam comes again, it grow to double size in this round.
First some suburban areas

Then the city center. Canals and parks are really missing from this little Amsterdam, but this is still just a test city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg830.imageshack.us%2Fimg830%2F8814%2F100922amsterdam05.jpg&hash=61f593e19175a0b7738b290e1278853ce3a207bd)

And finally, what else, the region view. I built a river to fill in the empty space. I think it makes the region more realistic.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg192.imageshack.us%2Fimg192%2F618%2F100617play2.jpg&hash=1dd77c7410066fcd6a0b4fba7cb65e5405ccba20)
You are doing a great job with the building sets. I had thouht it would take you much longer. The tile overview looks really great.
This is my first time reading this and it looks great! What happened to your old region (the one from earlier pages)? Dutch buildings look really beautiful doesn't it?
EDIT: I didn't realize that I was the 3,100th reader! Keep it up!
WoW, I hope I can get the MOD if you publish it on the STEX
Looks great, Kodlovag, although I miss one thing in the Amsterdam-styled city: canals!
Impressive work, nice mix between city and fields ;)
Nice update, very good work!!!
Congrats for the OSITM-award!
And your city is really fantastic. Some nice pictures of it...
Looking forward to more... ;)
RepliesRickD: It was long time to build the sets. I started downloading the buildings at the beginning of the year. Then I edited their exemplars with PIM-X. Now I'm finalizing them, and possible to use, but there are still no highrise buildings in the sets. Many more work required to finish. I feel it will never be done. I always will find new buildings to include.
Daryldaryl7478: I worked on my old region for a year, but I realized, that it is not very similar to European cities, and wall to wall development is missing from it. So I was somewhat disappointed with it. I also realized, that it is possible to make W2W cities in many different style. I didn't want to left it unfinished, but I had no any new idea to continue building. So I stated it's done! :D I archived it and started this MD to give it eternal life. Now I'm working on these new sets and will use it in my new and even better region.
Ernstpeter007: This set will probably be never published as a mod. It would be great, but there are some serious problems. At this state it's over 400MB, +dependencies. Secondly it contains many peoples work, and I should ask for approval from all of them to include their buildings. If I just add the building models to a dependency list, that list would have over 200 items! Nobody would ever collect it. So there is only a low chance of publishing.
Marteenmrtnrln: There are no canal plugins installed in this test region. You must wait for the my next region. Coming in next month!
Girafe, Tomas Neto, bat, and everybody else: Thank you. And keep commenting!

Fantastic update once again! That region view is fantastic!
Another great update!!! Very nice!!!
Nice. Maybe someday I can get my cities to look that yours. :)
I gotta keep my eye on this MD. Some nice stuff you got here.
Well, yes, 1993 I studied half a year at the Technical University in Budapest. I lived there in a normal student dorm in Buda between the Szábádság híd and the Petöfi híd. At that time I even was able to speak hungarian. :) Unfortunately I haven't been in Hungary since then :'( and forgot all hungarian. /wrrd%&
And before someone asks: No, haven't use airplanes at that time. I entered an airplane for the first but unfortunately not the last time in 1995. In 1993 I used the train (Orient Express: Paris Gar de l'Est - Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Munich - Wien with destination coaches to Budapest Keleti pu (Déli pu would have been closer for me). I really did enjoy that ride. :)
BTT: I love that industrial spread and your RHWs (and feel a bit ashamed that I couldn't master it by now)
Great work with the suburbs in the previous update, too. I just don't like these level crossing at both sides of the station ... $%Grinno$%
Take care!
Bernhard
Nice city! I like the industrial/warehouse area, the airport, and that last RHW interchange with OWR roundabouts
RepliesBernhard (Nardo69): I also finished in the Technical University of Budapest. But at that time when you were here I only started high school. Now the universty has a new name: Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Otherwise nothing really changed, just have the new Faculty of Economics.
I spent several weeks at the Technical University of Berlin during my PhD, but I've never learned any German.
And level crossings are rulez! At least in this Test Region... ;D

And this is the end of the region. Testing is finished, however building sets are still not complete. But good enough to start playing a new region.

Very fun read!
Excellent work and it is fun to see what you are trying to achieve and your thought process that goes into it! I must say I love your highway interchanges and how each different test city truly does have a unique flavor to it!
Great stuff! Love the way those suburbs sprawl up the hill.
Awesome pictures, your city is fantastic!!!
It gives me great pleasure to be the 100th poster and to move your MD from a fantastic month in OSITM to The Best Sellers section. There is no surprise why you are doing so well.
Congrats from myself and The SC4D Staff!! &apls

End of OSITM monthMy MD got great attention during November. OSITM is over for me (I hope not forever), but thanks to your comments Archipelago moved to the Best Sellers. Maybe somebody still remembers I started my MD with a want to be one of the Classics. We are halfway now! Only 398 more comments. Sound to much? Decrease it by commenting! I will try to give you more and more interesting updates, so keep commenting!

Update 21 - Modding Time: Realistic night lighting of road networksTwo month ago, when I flied to Berlin, I saw both Budapest and Berlin at night from the plane. I immediately started comparing the picture to my sc4 cities. (I probably a bit addicted to this game $%Grinno$% ). And I found the pictures are not similar at all. In a normal city the streetlights are very visible at night. In sc4 streetlights are mostly invisible, and buildings dominate the picture.
This is one of my current cities, with very average night view. (Gizmo's Day and Night mod v2, that's why so dark) This picture was already presented here in a previous update. It's not bad, but if I compare it to the reality, it's not good at all. I don't like it anymore.
BEFORE(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg203.imageshack.us%2Fimg203%2F1238%2F100701tilesettestwien10.jpg&hash=9d83bd559a5b98ed6996018d4e7fc1a5a41c5552)
But... I think it's possible to make a mod which can light up the city. This is what I currently have. (Based on SimFox Day and Night Mod and modded LRM v3.)
Bird view of the test city, click for full resolution (1920x1080), it looks better. The in game view is even much better, these jpg images are too noisy.

What do you think about this mod?
Is it good enough to upload somewhere?
Any recommendation how to make it better?
Fascinating work! &apls
I really enjoy making nice night-lit scenes in my cities but had never thought of anything like this. I guess that's because I usually look at close zooms when I look at my cities at night. In real life you notice the pattern of lights around roadways more than anything else in a city though, especially outside of very dense areas.
I would definitely have interest in downloading something similar to this.
As for making the mod better the two things I would suggest are that the lights are much more yellow, almost orange, compared to almost all other nightlighting in the game, and that it seems maybe a little too bright. The diagonals look a bit "boxy" too but not sure what you could do about that.
Nice work and I look forward to seeing how this progresses
Great work indeed! I have also always disliked the look of broader zooms at night. But you've made your pictures look fantastic! Although I'll have to agree with Noah that roadways stand about a bit too much because of their yellow colour. What about making it more white-ish?
Wow. Even though I agree about the lights being probably a bit too yellow, this is definitely an improvement. And a significant one.
I for one love it and think it's a great idea. If you can find a way to change the color, maybe you could upload different color variations to please different people. I may decide to use a night modd if you do this. ;)
Robin
Now THAT looks cool  . Great work, kodlovag!
And about the yellow-orange lights: these lights give orange light in real life, since these lights are fitted with natrium light-tubes, which give a saturated orange light. The diagonal Avenue sections may need a T21 mod (so the lights are one tile further apart).
Impressive. The first time someone made me think of a DarkNite mod ... %confuso
Love that Natrium-Bulb-Lights.
Take care!
Bernhard
A great improvement. I also think it is a bit to yellow. And maybe try to remove the dark gaps between the bright spots on bridge.
Very nice work! &apls Diagonal avenues indeed look weird, but if T21 would fix that, the mod would be perfect! Also different color options would be nice, at least I would prefer more blueish light.
Yes, this mod shows very realistic nightlights , I definetively would use it if there is a chance to solve the problem with the diagonals. And I would prefere the yellow lights, cause where I live the most bigger streets show the same light. Maybe we need more than one version ;D.
Greets, eufl
Upload it ! &apls
I think this is perfect for uploading as release one!
I like the yellow lights.
You also asked for suggestions on how to improve. Look at this picture of Paris by night. One of the things I like is that there are different colors of lights in the various streets. One way to achieve this is perhaps different colors per network type. (AVE-4 gets a different color than AVE-2 etc etc.)
Alex
by the way... I think this mod eventually should become part of next releases of the NAM!!! Perhaps with configuration options too select the color of the lights per network type.
This modd looks awesome :o

noahclem, io_bg, TiFlo, Robin (rooker1), Maarten (mrtnrln), Bernhard (Nardo69), nbvc, Ciuu96, eufl, art128, Alex (xannepan), Yan077: Thanks for all the commeents and suggestions. Up to now this is the most comment I've ever received for a post. Maybe I really found something interesting. I collected a wishlist from your posts, let's see it:
- diagonal avenue problem: it caused by the overlapping light cone models. I used different light cones, now it looks much better and smooth. T21s are not necessary to repair this problem.
- too yellow colors: as Maarten explained, these are Natrium bulb lamps, and really have this color.
- different color versions (yellowish, whithish, blueish...): the mod will come in 6 different colors, same colors as in Light Replacement Mod 3. So everything what you asked for + greenish and red (dark orange?)
- different colors per network type: it will be possible to mix colors per network per wealth level
- bridge lights: this was the first try only on bridge lights, will look better later
Now I'm working on Maxis highways and supporting NAM pieces for MHW. Only the smooth EHW-GHW transition and the wide radius GHW curves are missing.
I also found a bug (ununderstood feature?) in the game files: streetlights near roads and oneways seem appearing randomly, especially in higher density areas . This behaviour was fixed, and the game will correctly display the streetlights on every second tile. Now it is possible to make uniform nightlights for roads and oneways.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg834.imageshack.us%2Fimg834%2F686%2Flightmod11.jpg&hash=7a988a6975527e0caf493226af2dda6481bba22f)
Before releasing the mod I will update bridge lights and will make support for the most commonly used NAM pieces. I hope first release can come out at January. There are several hundred different intersections in the NAM files, which should be supported too. But writing all the required T21s is huge work. This will be done later, in the second release.

Update 22 - The BeginningsHere is my new region. Every feature tested in the previous region was for this region. The big one. It's name is Pacific Rim, after the map.
And this is the Beginning
At the beginnings there were only a toxic atmosphere, water and rocks. Sunshine, storms, lightnings. Pointless beauty. As nobody could see it.

But something formed in the ancient soup: new, complex molecules. It is not really possible to tell the point, when processes become self-supporting. From that point the evolution was just faster and faster. Oceans were full with self-copying primitive life forms. They started to adapt to freshwater, then to wet continential areas. The first flora on the Simworld was brown.

At a point oceans contained so much organic material, that the water was colored completly brown. The very high concentration of simple organic life forms launched exponential evolution into the direction of complex life forms. It started with the green pigment color, and the evolution cannot be stopped anymore. Now the Simworld has complex flora and fauna.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Nice history of the beginning of the Pacific Rim there! I hope you develop the Pacific Rim as great as its history.
Whoa...not quite sure how I missed this update for so long, but this is one of the coolest bits of storytelling (if you can call it that) that I have seen in any MD. Great natural development.

Wow, I don't even know where to start! First, I'm sorry for missing the last couple updates, I've made it a point to tell everyone how wonderful your USL mod is in my MD but didn't notice all the great stuff going on over here.
Your cities and pictures are outstanding and what's really impressive is how many different styles you've mastered. Your work with ploppable rocks and water is phenomenal and of course your night shots are amazing.
I esecially love the last shot from this update and the first one in the previous update.
Another great update, I love how you mix MM plops in amongst the industrial and rail buildings. &apls
Really nice, I like the atmosphere

Update 28 - KestertonThis time I will show only a short update, cause I was busy with making tree controllers. At this moment I have some success and some fails with the controllers, and gave it up for a short time to think it over again. Meantime I made this update for you. No tree controllers in this update ()sad()
Kesterton is a really small town near an unnamed bay. The town is so unremarkable, that even the nearby bay haven't inherited its name during the last century.

Okay, but where is Kesterton?
Here is the Map of Pacific Rim. I also signed the name of the already shown little towns. It is pointless to show a transportation map at this stage of the region, cause there are only streets in the whole region, and only very small sections of road and rail.

Update 30 - EddingtonLadies and Gentlemen,
Let me present the first larger city in Pacific Rim. This is Eddington. Population is around 15000, mostly $ residents. At this moment there are absolutely no education buildings in the whole region. So, no demand for higher wealth residents. This feature is reserved for later cities.
The city was established about six hundreds years ago, and was an agricultural village over the decades. Two hundred years ago a coal mine started to work, and that was the base of the grow. Eddington developed into a local industrial center, but agriculture still have a very high weight in its economy.

Another fantastic update!
It is looking beautiful!!
Looks great! Your rural areas are fantastic and I love the transit layout with all the diagonal and FA stuff. Great-looking medium-sized town as well. 30.3 is my favorite.
Excellent work with Eddington! Every picture is great, and I especially like that zoomed out view! ;D
Nice update(s)
Eddington is very well done, I like the industrial area you have made. Some nice detailing on your river area as well.
Fantastic job! Really enjoyed that last update!
