Welcome to the
Map of the Day thread where I will post a map every day. If I can't post a day, then 2 maps will be post the next day, at least you'll got 7 maps a week :)
The map will come in 16 bits png which you can use in SC4TF or SC4Mapper. The map will be linked to everyday post ( no need to make the LEX full of maps )
From the title bar, you can see different kind of map, ranging from island to mountainous maps and mandering rivers
I hope you will enjoy this thread and the everyday maps !
So for the first map of the day here is a mandering river

I spoke about a link to download the map, to have it in the game. I clicked on the link under the screenshot and I just have got this bigger.

@Guillaume,
Not that link. :)

Renne
Ah, I didn't know that ;D Thank you Renne!
Guillaume.
Thanks for the welcome
So today another map, this one seems a bit more hilly and so will certainly be used for rurality more than for skyscrapper forest

Beautiful map! &apls
Guillaume.
Today's map is an island one with a kind of mountain in its center
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa.imageshack.us%2Fimg816%2F1354%2F20100819small.jpg&hash=603df38a70d7a0323fb84ef51f44a3b6e6cc855c)

Very nice map, but how do you choose your code names? :D
Guillaume
the MOTD is a good idea &apls &apls
maps are really nice
I wait for moutain map :)
The idea is very good indeed. I especially like todays map, will use sooner or later.
:-\
One map a day? You are too wild. These maps are terrific.
The links are giving me seemingly black images however. Is that a problem? I would expect to see some lightness for the top of the mountains, although I am only familiar with jpeg greyscales.
16bit png are very dark, because the maps are in the 1000m range, and 16bit can hold up to 6000m
I can provide more than one a day :)
Today's map is a 4x4 big cities mountaineous one, the highest point is 1800m above sea level
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa.imageshack.us%2Fimg718%2F20%2F20100820small.jpg&hash=c33eebab71253a0e4e48fffd5b0c2f50b3adf53f)

The island map is stunning.
Great work!
Great map! &apls
Guillaume
beautiful one, could you try to develop one map of the 3 Valleys (courchevel), Savoie France for my ski resorts ::)
I would like to try lot of things with a real ski resort and what I am developping (it would be so nice) :)
Girafe, the MOTD are only and will only be fantasy maps
Today's map is a coastline ! with SC4TF colors, you'll understand soon why
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa.imageshack.us%2Fimg443%2F1108%2F20100821small.jpg&hash=7db313783eb99224f7bb77695963442011547d89)

Wonderful map a time again Wouanagaine &apls
Guillaume.
Today I'm doing a new offer that I hope will be well welcomed
1 map, but 4 variations on it, hence why I don't go thru SC4 on the maps :)

Thanks which one in the banner ? I might not upload all of them or might have delete them already
Thanks Guillaume and Jordan !
I downloaded the Island map earlier today, but when I rendered it in-game the whole region was just water once it had finished. What am I doing wrong? If you wouldn't mind posting how to download and get these to work properly in game?
If you use SC4Terraformer, or SC4Mapper, you can import the PNG file, and save it as a region. Alternatively, you can go into SC4's region view and press ctrl+alt+shift+r then navigate to the saved file.
SC4 Terraformer (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=731)
SC4 Mapper (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=179)
Your friend,
Jordan
Today we're starting a 4 days in islands map
I'm also give you some various config.bmp that will suit the various maps
Download it here (http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206//ConfigSizeIOTD.zip)
It contains files like config4x4.bmp ( for 4x4 big cities ), just copy it to a region folder and rename it to config.bmp
You'll be then able to import the MOTD pngs in SC4TF and SC4Mapper more easily
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa.imageshack.us%2Fimg829%2F4313%2Ffinalf.jpg&hash=e1afa52b2ea5fe5c7a2a80c52667c266dca3b107)
clic to enlarge (http://a.imageshack.us/img832/5595/bigm.jpg)
Warning : due to an error in naming the images, the regions view are not sorted in same order as usual
:-[ Sorry for the inconvenience ()what()
It is a 8x4 big cities map, with IMHO a very nice shape and plenty of land to develop on
right clic and 'save as...' to get the following maps

The 90° rotated version (http://a.imageshack.us/img137/7360/ci42984552049102590.png)

It is a 4x4 big cities map, nothing really important, but I hope you'll like it anyway
I recommend the 180° version for seeing the cliffs in SC4
right clic and 'save as...' to get the following maps
The normal version (http://a.imageshack.us/img833/8357/nc155063710251025000.png)
The 90° rotated version (http://a.imageshack.us/img831/337/nc155063710251025090.png)
The 180° rotated version (http://a.imageshack.us/img823/8411/nc155063710251025180.png)
The 270° rotated version (http://a.imageshack.us/img440/9684/nc155063710251025270.png)
Thanks everyone for your comments and for the rendering
Don't forget to get the various config.bmp
Download it here (http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206/ConfigSizeIOTD.zip)
It contains files like config4x4.bmp ( for 4x4 big cities ), just copy it to a region folder and rename it to config.bmp
You'll be then able to import the MOTD pngs in SC4TF and SC4Mapper more easily
Enjoy!
PS : If someone is using one of the map, feel free to post a region census of the rendered map :)
I'm amazed by this map! You do these like you change a shirt! :P

hehe, I'm not sure this is the english expression or it can be translated word by word but anyway I understand it
Thanks
