Hi, I'm new in the forum (but not a newbe in SC4 :D ). I was using the NWM in one of my cities and it's great, a nice idea. But when I use the AVE-2 road I found an ugly median made of concrete.
For example: in this picture at the top there is comercial services $$ and $$$, and at the bottom there are a park. The median of the road is simply ugly.

Well, the concrete median is caused by the Medium/High desity zones surrounding the AVE-2. Grassy medians are currently only available for low density zones and park lots.

Well, that looks horrible on slopes. However we could try to make grassy median textures for MD and HD as well...
Just curious - where is the underground garage in the first picture from?
It's made by McDyre, available at the STEX.
I could copy-paste the low-density grass ones over to the IIDs for medium/high density--it's a pretty easy task, fortunately.

There's been talk of treed median T21s. Eventually, it'll probably get done, though for logistical reasons, it won't be included in the NWM mod itself.

Not really--the AVE-2 medians are quite a bit narrower. Was worth suggesting, though. :)

As far as I knew, several Chinese Modders had create a set of medians for AVE-2, such as cherry trees, flower-beds and so on.

The medians are a chinese style, and its beautiful. Also there must be an European or American style (how to build a median?).

Clicking on 道路交通 filters all threads to "road traffic modifications" though I'd be wary of what to download when it comes to NAM compatibility...
Well it certainly may be just my imagination, but it seems like the number of insanely good players on this site from China has seen an uptick in the past months to a year. I would imagine some of the Chinese members here might be interested in helping to bridge the gap between players who clearly have a lot of information to share with each other. Browsing the board (completely ignorant of the language mind you ???) over at the Chinese fansite, it would appear that many have easy access to SC4D and ST, and therefore there must be some membership crossover that can understand both languages and could act as an emissary of sorts. Not volunteering anyone or anything, but it would be interesting to try.
I keep trying to log into the Simcity China site without any luck. Can't tell what I am doing wrong because the error messages are in chinese characters. LOL

I got in on Firefox and registered myself but I have yet to install the plugin. That site really, really doesn't like Google Translate &mmm
Those dual-network bridges there look interesting. They appear to replace NAM bridges (one of which I actually use) according to the description and I don't know if they'll have LHD support though.
EDIT: They don't. They place, but they're just dummy paths. Paths on the wrong level and such. The underground rail bridge doesn't like the Rail catenary mod either it seems, the abutments don't appear, catenary pylons do instead. I think this is the result of using T21s to render the actual bridge.
IMHO though, these bridges would look better as traditional S3D bridges and with the GLR in Road bridge using the Road network considering the Tram puzzle pieces place over road.
On that topic, what ever happened to the bridges Choco made before his/her departure?

excellent, we definitly need a mas-san like chinese person to help bridge the gap :p I too have notice a major influx of chinese members (louistw being one of them) who are incredibly awesome over the past few months, so maybe a chinese forum would be in order?

So these look great and I've got the files... but where do I put 'em? How do I install the files so the medians show up in the AVE-2's?
That may seem like a really elementary question and perhaps it is... but do the files just need to be somewhere (anywhere?) in my plugin folder, or somewhere in particular in the NAM folder?
As long as the files are in a folder that loads after the NAM, I believe you are all good.
I think this thread is famous now :D. I've navigating throug the Sim City China and I founded interesting things, but I'm occidental and I can speak only Spanish and English (some German too) and I don't understand any word of these site.
If the files of AVE-2 must be instaled in the NAM folders, now I cand understand why I can't see it ::).
i dont believe they need to be installed in the nam folder, but have to load AFTER the nam folder, so put in a folder starting with a few z's

What I do is create a top-level folder called "Z Load Last", and I put any files that have to load last in there. It just about guarantees that stuff like that works.
I've managed to get these files and have them unzipped. I now have the AVE-2 in my city, and it has the double lamp posts every so often, but I don't have the trees or seasonal medians. I've got all the files in the same folder, I've tried multiple locations under the NAM folder, I've tried adding the ZZZ to the beginning of the file name. Since I can see the AVE 2 now with the lamp posts, I'm guessing the tree and median files go in a different location?
Am I doing something obviously wrong to get those median pieces? Should I pas along the file names I have for those median pieces?
