There are a lot of lots with the standard white maxis sidewalk base texture, and I wanted to change some of them to match my BSC texture. Now, I used Ilive's editor to edit the LotConfigPropertyLotObjectData properties and changed the lot's base texture (the last value of those properties beginning with 0x000000002) to BSC's (with IID 4DA44600), I reindexed lotconfig and saved, and yet ... nothing happens. The lot's original base textures keep showing up no matter what. I reopen the files in Ilive and they have been correctly saved and all... I have absolutely no idea why the original texture persists, but then again, I'm a total noob at this &mmm ...
I hope I make myself clear (rather cryptic explanation I admit :( ) and hopefully someone can explain to me what I'm doing wrong... ;)
Seems like you are doing everything right. I can't say I know this problem, but here are some things:
-You have quit Ilive's and when re-opened the lot is the way you changed it?
-Are you sure the lot that grows/plop is the one that you have changed?
-It may be that you are using the wrong IID, but that doesn't explain why it is still working at all.
Perhaps you sure do this in a Lot Editing program where you can see a picture of the lot as you change it.
I have found that base/overlay textures can change on a pre-built lot. So while you test this out you can grow/plop your lot and save and quit. When you change the textures they will have changed when you re-open SC4. This saves some time if you are testing a lot.
Well, when I use Maxis' LE, it works, the base texture changes  ;D ... But, what I'm actually looking into is to do it with Ilive's reader, so I compared the hand-modified with the LE-modified, but I see no difference between them whatsoever... The LE did the same what I did in Ilive... and yet ...
I'm confused &mmm :'( ... anyone happy enough to explain? :)
