Title: RHW little problem
Post by: VeTram on October 19, 2010, 04:13:19 AM
pls just a little help with a problem i found trying to use RHW ...After installing RHW lane 4 and above , sim cars seem to make zic-zac along road lanes , just as their drivers were drunk!.....i dont think i have made anything wrong , and i do have installed NAM version 29....The RHW version is 4.1 and i am testing using car generator..thanx

Merged with your other thread from NAM How-Tos and Tutorials, as it was redundant. -Tarkus, Admin

I guess this happens only in multi-tile RHWs. If yes, you shouldn't worry about it, those RHWs have been designed this way on purpose ;)

It sounds like what you're seeing is part of the pathing that allows vehicles to change lanes.

what do you mean ?  is it normal?.....

Yes, this is completely normal. It actually makes it possible that cars can change lanes over multiple tiles...

Really?....does anyone knows where can i find a similar example to understand if we are talking about the same thing?

Is this what you mean:

If yes, this is perfectly normal

What you've described sounds exactly like a known issue involving automata (i.e. car etc.) generators and the wider RHWs' crossover paths (which exist to make the wider RHWs work properly). Other people have reported this issue before. The RHW you have built is working properly, but automata tend to behave strangely, so I recommend ignoring this issue.

so....it seems that we are talking about the same thing... :)......although it seems to me that is quite unrealistic , as it looks like all the drivers are drunk!.. &mmm.....also they slow down very much which is also unrealistic....anyway..i dont see that issue on smaller lanes like RHW2 -RHW4...so i will use them for the moment....
someth. more pls ...and thank you a lot all of you .... i have followed the method for neighbors connection , but it seems that cars doesnt dissapear but the keep on driving after the edge of the road in a perpendicular way...is it normal also?... thanx again... :)

ps:  i wonder if this issue isnt that terrible when we DONT use generators , but in normal roads in game...does anyone knows?

RHW-2, 4, 6S, and MIS 1 don't have this issue because they don't have crossover paths. The 8S, 8C, 6C, and 10S require these because of their multiple tile nature.

The effect is minimal on simulated traffic, but is extremely noticeable on generated traffic.

thanx , but what about neighbors edges?

thanx , but what about neighbors edges?

Are you referring to the "spider car" effect?  That's actually mentioned in the Readme on the section about the Neighbor Connector pieces:

Quote
Due to how the pieces have to be set up, it is also possible you will see "spider cars" going down the edge of your city tile.

It's a minor side-effect of how I had to set up the pieces to allow neighbor connections . . . and it's a vast improvement to the alternative.

I have already evoked this problem in an other post , and there is one solution . Not use this traffic generator  &mmm . It is damage but , it is like this .
