Hi I have norton 360 on my laptop & each time it scans it comes up with this
setupsc4pimc8c.exe has been detected by sonar & has been quarantined
the file is located in File: c:\users\jaffa\appdata\local\temp\temp1_setupsc4pim.zip\setupsc4pimc8c.exe
but i cant find it when i look for it
Dose any one know what it is, im assuming it is to do with something i downloaded for sc4 but i don't know what,
& if you know what it is, is it safe, if not how do i get rid of it?
thanks
Sounds like the installer for SC4PIM (PIM-X, or the "X tool"), with the name slightly altered. Did you try to download/install that once?
The name of that file is probably SetupSC4PIMRC8c.exe
If it is, then that's "release candidate 8c" of "SC4PIM (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2260)", also known as "PIM-X" or the "X Tool". :)
And RC8c is indeed the latest version. ;)
Material stored in temp directories are either already installed (ie the install software is of no value) or you have already made a decision about your use (usually happens when you download something and select "Run" rather than "Save"). If you do a "Disk Cleanup" it will be removed anyways. I guess my end point is 1. as pointed out it isn't a virus 2. you can just delete it anyways.. as you can virtually anything in "temp" directories.
Thanks guys that all i wanted to know
