Title: The SFBT Advent Calendar 2010
Post by: Andreas on November 30, 2010, 03:09:58 PM
After the great success last year, the SimForum BAT Team is proud to announce the 2010 advent calendar - each day until Christmas another new upload! It's been a while since we released something, but the SFBT is far from dead. ;) RL kept most of us busy, but hopefully, our bash at the end of the year will make up for that. It's midnight, and December 1st just started here. Yesterday, it was snowing, so the landscape looks rather christmassy already.

SFBT Old Villa (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2529) by voltaic

This is a leftover from last year, but nevertheless, it is another very nice building created by voltaic, our BAT specialist from Western Switzerland. Actually, it was one of his first BATs, and it doesn't have any nightlights, but I think it would be a pity not to release it. Enjoy!

Hurray, another lot of Christmas presents keeps on coming! Thanks SFBT for all great quality stuffs and your time developing them.
RL always hit us hard, so take no pressure to release your creations, will ya? What you do should be a pastime, not a service, so we'll understand if you're forced to delay in making public the masterpieces.

Hope you all enjoy the month & take very good care.

Wahoo, and I thought the SFBT was slowly dying off. This is great, I missed last years but this year, I kept my eyes open and.....voila...here I am. This will be great, since I have most of SFBT in my Plugins.
The little house with or without nitlite is sold!
Downloaded and kept!
Thanks

Hi Andreas,

Good to see the Adventskalender again this year! I always enjoy it.
Only one advice: maybe you should not put the lots immediately on the SimCityKurier. That makes the Adventskalender superfluous. Why not wait a week?

Why should our German community wait one more week? ;) The SimCityKurier has an automatic unlocking feature, so each day, at midnight, one new upload will become available. Since the LEX doesn't provide anything like that, I'll try to upload them manually around midnight (European time) - at the same time as they become available at SimCityKurier, naturally.

It's not an animation, but a PHP script that was programmed for SimCityPlaza (or actually, the former SimsZone), so I can't integrate it in the forums, unfortunately.

SFBT Subway-Tram Transition (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2530) by Chrisim

Marrast's underpasses surely have become a legend among SimCity 4 players, and thanks to the skills by NAM Team tram specialist Chrisim, who manually modded the models and added custom textures for virtually any other transit type of the game, we now have yet another incarnation of Marrast's work: A Subway-Tram transition with the current GLR textures, unlike the old model by NDEX, which was merely a modded version of their Rail-to-Subway transition. You might recognize this model from the Flexible Underpasses (FLUPs), but one of the disadvantages of the FLUPs - not being able to continue your GLR line below a building - can be overcome with this lot, as it's using the subway tool for making tunnels.

As usual with such lots that have special modding, please make sure to read the readme file in order to see how to use this lot properly.

No, I meant something different: now you unlock the lots in the Adventskalender, but also in the SimCityKurier. Why not only in the Adventskalender? Then it is really Kalender fun. The LEX can wait until after Christmas!

SFBT Factory Building (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2533) by Sam Johnson

Sam has been pretty busy this year, and this BAT is one example of his excellent work - or actually two, since the download doesn't only contain one, but two different models of a large factory building, one with concrete walls, and a brick wall version. There are still rather few large industrial buildings, so hopefully, this lot should fill the gap a little bit more again. Both building models are part of a building family, so they are selected randomly whenever the lot is growing in your city.

I'm a little late today, as it was the annual Christmas party of my astronomy club, and I just returned home. We might be a little early in the year, but apparently, we picked the proper time after all, as it's been very cold over the last few days, and we even have a bit snow. :) Well, without further ado:

SFBT Neue Nationalgalerie (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2534) by praiodan

I think the Neue Nationalgalerie is one of the landmarks in Berlin that doesn't need a big intruduction. It's one of the most famous examples of modern architecture, and surely one of the most well-known buildings by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. A few years ago, Erdmoebel released this building as a BAT already, but we always thought that, although it was a nice model, it didn't really do justice to the real thing. Thus, praiodan stepped up with a model that is as close to the reality as possible, together with a wonderful nightlighting. For the large base, praiodan had to derive a bit from the original, as it is placed on a slope, so the sculpture garden and some parking lots are missing, but since the lot is pretty large already (7x7 tiles), I think that's an acceptable compromise.

Quite agree with the above, the nightlights are sharp, although I rarely use them. My third BAT from this Advent Kalender.

The thing is that I have to delete one file when I download another one......Plugins at high limit......so......

How many days to christmas again?  &mmm

We can only release what's ready so far. ;) But rest assured, there are quite a few goodies left until Christmas. For those with huge plugins folders - time for some "winter cleaning"! Anyway, since you apparently liked yesterday's Berlin landmark, I decided to upload yet another one:

SFBT Frederick the Great Statue (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2535) by peterycristi

peterycristi's detailed statue of Frederick the Great, king of Prussia, is located on the famous "Unter den Linden" boulevard in the center of Berlin. It's one of the most important sculptures of the 19th century, marking the transition to very detailed and realistic sculptures. During WWII, it was immured in order to protect it, and since Frederick was riding towards the East, the statue was relocated to Potsdam-Sanssouci after the war. It was finally erected at the old location again in the 1980s, after a thorough restauration.

Friedrich der Grosse, also known as "Der Alte Fritz". Funny, my father named me after him, when I was born in Gelsenkirchen/Germany. He had the same name as Frederick The Great's father, Friedrich-Wilhelm, and thought it would be nice to stay in the same line-up. I was raised in the Aachen area (aix-de-la-chapelle) though, more or less close to Andreas' area (north of him). Now I'm in Canada since 40 years.
lol... I have a picture of the statue in Berlin with me beside it, when I was barely 6 years old, in 1958.....absolutely have to find that picture....
This seems to be very well done, have to see it ingame though to confirm. Looks very stunning and I love those well chosen textures. Downloaded.

Thanks SFBT.

SFBT Modern Bus and Tram Stops (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2536) by Fluggi and khoianh94

From Berlin to Munich we go today, presenting a very nice set of bus and tram stops, made by Fluggi and khoianh94, who are not in the SFBT (yet?), but nevertheless, their work is excellent, and together with some modding touches, the lots certainly deserve the SFBT logo, which indicates high quality BATs, lots and mods from our German SimForum community. :) This set contains a total number of 17 bus and tram stops, inspired by those that can be found in Munich, Germany. Apart from "regular" bus stops, we also included a couple of road-top stops, a diagonal version, and two lots that were designed for the Fractional Angled Roads (FAR). You might recognize this set from the STEX, if you already have that one, we recommend to remove it from your plugins folder (don't forget to bulldoze the lots first) and get this thoroughly updated version. Oh, and finally: the bus and tram stop shelters and the other props are rendered in HD. :)

Title: Re: The SFBT Advent Calendar 2010
Post by: Andreas on December 05, 2010, 06:33:12 PM
Yeah, that's probably better if you used them a lot in a city already. What I changed was (apart from some minor budget settings) the Transit Switch Entry Cost - now calculated to the formula that the NAM Team members worked out and the visual appearance in the menu in particular. Also, the additional props will now "highlight" if you move the cursor over them (and display the hover query). Plus, the diagonal and FAR lots got diagonal signs and ticket machines now. :)
Title: Re: The SFBT Advent Calendar 2010
Post by: travismking on December 05, 2010, 06:50:18 PM
Ahh so i definitely dont need them then, as I changed the Transit entry cost myself, and the other things changed are not important to me :) Still, I really like these models, enough so that they are the only bus stations I ever use, although mine look much different now, as I relotted them

SFBT Storehouse (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2537) by voltaic

Yet another building that has been "on hiatus" for a while, but nevertheless, this is a nice addition to the set of historic Switzerland houses that voltaic created so far. I decided to make this one (apart from the usual landmark version) a stage 1 R-$ building, so you can use it as an initial lot for a small farming community.

SFBT Rail to GHSR Converter (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2538) by Nardo69

Admittedly, this is probably the smallest and simplest lot that we will upload for the SFBT advent calendar this year. Nevertheless, it is a lot that was requested over and over by many HSRP fans when they saw it in Nardo69's "Urland" MD or elsewhere. But nevertheless, this Rail to GHSR converter lot can be very useful if you want to connect your "classic" rail network to a high speed line. It works similar like the Maxis El-Rail to Subway transition, or the Tram to Subway converter that we released a few days ago - railway passengers are simply converted into HSRP (or monorail, actually) passengers, and while you can't use it in UDI mode, and automata will not be able to cross the lot, it's fully functional, and integrates seamlessly into the game.

Note: We also updated the SFBT Essentials (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=750) with some new items that are needed on future lots; the Rail to GHSR Converter is the first one that needs the new version, so please make sure to update your current installation.

Sam has been pretty busy this year, and after the large factory building, this is the second batch for the SFBT Advent calendar - one of the countless examples of Russian pre-fab architecture in the fast-growing suburbs of Moscow that have been erected over the past centuries. Please don't forget to dowhload the new playground props (see below), too.

SFBT Playground Props (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2540) by Sam Johnson

This is a rather extensive set of playground props, specifically made for the Moscow lots, but certainly a good choice for any Plattenbau quarter or other R-§ developments. It contains about 100 props with various playground equipment, grouped into several prop families with different colors. It's a dependency for today's BAT, but also for a couple of other lots that will be released soon.

SFBT Boulevard Fribourg (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2541) by N1_2888

Albeit fictional, this building is intended as an addition to porkissimo's and xannepan's excellent Haussian buildings from Paris, and like many other SFBT creations, this one is filling a gap - literally, since it is intended to fill the gap that remains when using diagonal road intersections. As you can see in the third image, this type of intersection requires two different lots, so the download contains a 1x1 and a 1x2 version. Both lots serve as ploppable CO-§§§ with 215 jobs each.

SFBT Waggonhaus (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2542) by Fluggi

Yet another "guest upload", but I think this fits into the SFBT portfolio very well, too. Houses like those can be found in pretty much every German village or city, typically found in new housing development areas. They come in a variety of shapes and colors, and while many of them are individually planned, there are also a lot of companies that offer "model" houses from a catalogue, so while they might look different, you will recognize common shapes and features, like the rounded parts on two of the BAT models, which inspired the name "Waggonhaus" (literally "railway car house"), derived from the typical shape of German railway cars from the past. The set contains three different models that will grow on a total of six different lots, thus allowing 18 different combinations, with lot sizes from 1x2 to 3x3, covering the first four stages. The list of dependencies is a little longer than usual, but I think the variety of the lot design makes that up for sure.

SFBT Block 44 (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2543) by Sam Johnson

This one is a big one, and also a grim one. The buildings of "Block 44" are modeled after some examples in Prypiat, one of the cities that was contaminated by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. The set contains three different lot sizes, and two building models in four color variants, all grouped into building families, which will be chosen randomly when the lots are growing. The larger 8x4 and 8x8 lots might be a nice companion for T Wrecks' set of mega lots for 6459978's buildings that have been created some years ago. In order to see all trees, make sure you installed one or more tree prop families from the SFBT Essentials or the SFBT Street Tree Mod, and please keep in mind that some of those families need additional dependencies, like Cycledogg's or PEG's trees. Otherwise, you might get brown boxes.

SFBT Signalboxes (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2545) by royal

The "model railroad" fans will like today's upload, two new signalboxes, created by royal. Both models have been rendered in HD, the Koblenz-Lützel signalbox is using an overhanging prop. On another note, the SFBT Semaphore Signal Props (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1714) have been updated with a HD version. The set contains about 100 German railway props, now all in HD, too. Also included is a special update file, so you don't have to edit your old lots. The replacement mod will update existing signal models to the HD version "on the fly".

SFBT Campground (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2546) by der Gammler and Andreas

Today's download started as a private set of lots that der Gammler featured in his village competition entry at SimForum last summer, and which got quite a few responses back then. While we have seen certain campsites with tent props and the like before, a typical European campground with lots of caravans, the obligatory sanitary building, the trademark barricade at the entrance and the like was still missing. For a public release, I stripped a few dependencies, and merged the several lots into one large version for easier placement, and the result was a pretty large 12x8 lot. There are two versions in the download, one "classic" ploppable lot in the park menu, and a growable R-$ lot of the same size, which I think somehow makes sense, since most campgrounds also have a couple of permanent residents over the year.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FCampingplatz_01.jpg&hash=c97a0840dee2f56782f3a1c35c73f8b4303d446a)  (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FCampingplatz_02.jpg&hash=de0a5871b9c6a71ccfbf954fc4e664f00c806b13)

And for completeness, here's a larger overview pic across the whole lot, showing all details:

Well this certainly is something. It will not be long until pics of this campsite are popping up all over the site.  &apls  I must admit I long for the more modular set of lots as well though  ;D
Title: Re: The SFBT Advent Calendar 2010
Post by: Andreas on December 14, 2010, 03:16:26 PM
Well, it was not really a "more modular" set, it was just about the same basic layout if you managed to puzzle them together in the right order. ;) However, a more modular approach is certainly a good idea, but there's nothing that should stop avid lotmakers from giving it a try, using the included camping prop pack.

SFBT Bauhaus Series (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2551) by Mathe Man

Yet another set of European small residential buildings to spice up your neighborhood, this time from the famous Bauhaus era. This set includes three slightly different models in five colors each, and two lots, a R-$$ and a R-$$$ version, for a good amount of variety, but yet a somewhat uniform look for a typical housing community that was developed in the 1920s, and renovated/repainted later.

Today's upload is a small one again, a little landmark from Wermelskirchen, a city between Cologne and Dortmund, located in the Bergisches Land, a hilly region south of the Ruhr area. "Büdchen" is a typical rural dialect, meaning a small booth where you can buy newspapers, snacks, tobacco and the like. Due to some "urban renewal", it got removed from the original location on the market square of Wermelskirchen, but luckily, the historic architecture could be preserved by some local activists, and the entire building got erected again in a nearby open air museum.

Echt, das Buedchen gefaellt mir richtig. I like it.

I also downloaded the campground, I had to do some changes to it, because I don't have those Peg files in my plugins, but it came out pretty good the same.Thanks.

SFBT Pre-Fab Elementary School (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2554) by Sam Johnson

The SFBT has released quite a few pre-fab lots in the past, and right from the beginning, there were plans to release a series of rewards that are based on those lots. This pre-fab school is the first of this kind; it gets unlocked once you have more than 10 SFBT mega lots or 4 SFBT modern pre-fab lots in your city (which shouldn't be too hard to achieve). The building comes in four different colors, which are selected randomly via a prop family. Since prop families appear to lack the preview mechanism, we also added a special preview prop that works similar to the SFBT park sets - the preview will show during the placement of the lot, but then disappears forever, just leaving the "normal" prop.

SFBT Discount Stores (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2555) by royal

Today's download contains a set of German discount stores, such as ALDI, Lidl, Netto and Penny, which have been very successfull since the late 1950's/early 1960's, when Karl and Theo Albrecht opened the first ALDI ("Albrecht Discount") store in Essen, Germany. Soon, both of the brothers continued with their own store chain, ALDI Nord (north) and ALDI Süd (south), and have expanded thoughout countless European countries, the USA and even Australia and New Zealand. Their main rival today is Lidl, but Edeka, Netto and Penny have been very successful, too. Plus was bought by the Rewe Group recently, and the stores were re-branded to Netto, but for completeness, we also included a Plus store, as well as a Hofer store, which is the name of the ALDI stores in Austria. In total, this download contains nine different discount stores, and each lot also shows a special delivery truck prop that will show up either in the morning or in the afternoon. The trucks have been created by SimCityFreak.

SFBT Nikolaikirche (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2557) by peterycristi

One of Potsdam's famous landmarks is the Nikolaikirche, designed by architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, which survived as one of the few buildings after a Royal Air Force attack in WWII. The lot is not an exact reproduction of the current situation, but a design that should fit into your city nicely - and since Christmas is approaching fast, there's also a little Christmas market in front of the church that shows up every december (in-game time).

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FNikolaikirche_01.jpg&hash=3ac6655a6d1829ba7fd5a4a2b4201c02ef6f79e4)  (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FNikolaikirche_02.jpg&hash=09bc949599811372298e4c5317a51107109222d1)

Please note: Make sure to download peterycristi's prop pack (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2556) as well for this and some upcoming lots. The Christmas market props are not available at the LEX at the moment, as I just found out, but you can get them at SimCityKurier (http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=255). :)

SFBT Chertanovo Prospekt (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2560) by Sam Johnson

Sam Johnson was definitely unstoppable when BATting all those Russian pre-fab buildings this year, so here's another file example of his talents. With nine floors, these are more or less midrise buildings and will grow on medium and high density residential zones. They are available in four lot sizes, two smaller 10x2 and 10x3 lots, and two large 10x6 and 10x8 mega lots with two buildings each. The overall lot design is similar to the pre-fab lots that have been released so far, so those should integrate seamlessly.

SFBT Vineyards (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2561) by FrankyFour, igc and Andreas

Today's upload is based on an idea by FrankyFour, who was looking for slope-friendly vineyards, but so far, the existing props were not really intended for putting on a slope, as it is a common sight in the south-western part of Germany in particular. Being from a wine region myself, I loved the first draft with some ploppable vineyard fields that were equipped with igc's vine props. Naturally, plopping extensive vineyards takes a lot of time, so I decided to make them growable as well. The task looked relatively easy, but unfortunately, there were quite a few obstacles to master.

After battling with SC4PIM, the Lot Editor and the Reader for countless hours, I was able to weed out all the bugs, hopefully, so they're finally here. :) Apart from the four ploppable filler lots, this set also includes a "farm lot" with a small vineyard hut, like those that you can find everywhere in this area, and a custom vineyard field lot. I suggest to use a Maxis blocker and remove all other custom farms while you're growing your vineyards; once you're done, you can revert these measures again safely. Please have a look at the LEX description or the readme file for more details about how to use this set.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FWeinberge_01.jpg&hash=2c8c3a54260707d948e8cc7eb5524f6622469d6d)  (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fkurier.simcityplaza.de%2Fuploads%2FImage%2FSFBT%2FWeinberge_02.jpg&hash=b30b30d5b139ee972f56b05ab83a5857a320400d)

BTW, sorry for the spelling mistake in the LEX upload, unfortuantely, you cannot edit this line anymore  &mmm  Here's a pic of the vineyards in action, courtesy of FrankyFour:

Update notice: Unfortunately, it turned out that two props are missing in peterycristi's prop pack (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2556), therefore, I updated the download. You don't have to get the new version right now, though, since there isn't a lot that would need them so far. But if there's one that would need them in the future, I'll add the props to that file, too. :)

EDIT: I just remembered one thing about the vineyards... You might notice that the vine props don't cast shadows; this was done on purpose, as shadows have a somewhat severe impact on the overall performance. During my tests, even only a small number of vineyards slowed down scrolling considerably, making it almost unbearable to play the game anymore. This might be due to my rather low-end on-board ATI Radeon 4200, but when I removed the shadow property, things returned to be very smooth again. Just keep in mind that each 1x1 vineyard field has about 30 vine props, this adds up quickly. You won't notice the difference without looking closely anyway, I just mention it in case you wonder. ;)

SFBT Otradnoye Blocks (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2562) by Sam Johnson

As mentioned above, Sam Johnson was really busy with creating his set of East European pre-fab blocks, so here's another one, coming in two sizes on three different lots, an 8x3 version, an 8x8 mega lot that has two buildings, and an extra-long 14x3 behemoth. So without further ado, go and grab them. :)

This is becoming a very useful set of blocks! Great addition to the game. These buildings are much more European than the original Maxis "Europe" set of housing blocks.
It might sound not too friendly, but these run down blocks are to be found all over Europe, although they aren't always built as bad as in the Soviet Union. So these might be useful for everyone working on European regions.
It is a pity that I have planned to work on a rural region these days. So I guess I'll put the downloads in a safe pace and dig'em up next year when I do a large city again.

Yep you're right. Almost all of my blocks aren't that kind of blocks which are only found in the former soviet union, many of them can be found in a similar way everywhere in europe. I think my Block 44 set is the only set which looks really rundown in a way that only could be found in the eastern bloc states :D

SFBT Französische Kirche Potsdam (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2563) by peterycristi

Christmas is almost there, winter has just started (at least astronomically), the snow is melting again here and it's raining heavily, leaving not that much of the "Christmas feeling" right now, but hopefully, today's upload will bring it back a bit. It's another BAT from the Berlin region by peterycristi, a small church that should fit in anywhere you can provide a small 2x2 spot, and it definitely goes well nicely with the Nikolaikirche from the same city.

Christmas Eve has just started in Germany, and traditionally, an Advent Calendar has 24 doors, one for each day until Christmas Eve, the day when German kids get their presents finally, after the long wait, and after Santa or the Christkind visited the houses in the evening. So here's the last "official" download for this calendar - but who knows, maybe Santa will leave some presents for those who celebrate on the 25th and 26th of december as well. ;)

SFBT Semperoper (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2565) by curby and praiodan

Curby started this model of the famous Semperoper in Dresden, Germany, a long time ago, but it never got finished, so praiodan picked up the file, and completed the building some time ago. The lot was created by yours truly, as well as the modding. It's a reward that will get unlocked once you have more than 25,000 R-$$$ residents in your city, or - alternatively - more than 100 SFBT buildings that have grown. The rest of the stats should be similar to the Maxis opera, please keep in mind that you need the "Opera House Fix" that will provide a proper query window with budget slider. Merry Christmas everyone! :)

I'm sure a lot of people wondered about the SimCityPlaza banner, which looks a lot like SimCity, but apparently isn't the game after all. We got quite a lot of enquiries about the image already, asking about those buildings and the like, but so far, we always had to turn down the requests. Well, not anymore, here they finally are:

SFBT Bern W2W Set (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2569) by voltaic

The scene shown above is indeed made for SimCity 4, with the usual gmax models, textures and such, within the SC4 scale, but this particular scene was rendered as one single image by voltaic some time ago. Therefore, it was not possible to build something like that in the game. Nevertheless, voltaic rendered individual W2W buildings for the game, and now they're finally available as our very special Christmas gift, including eight lots (four residentials and four commercial service lots) in total. N1_2888 did the final lot and modding touches, so they should fit in perfectly with the other W2W buildings that have been released.

Thanks a lot for these W2W buildings, very beautiful and useful! All the uploads have been great, and these gifts are very nice!

Got a question though, is that tram in the banner also just a render or is it available somewhere?

The tram is just a part of the rendering so far, like the roads, the cars, those walls etc. Maybe they will be available for the game some day, but that's up to voltaic. ;)

I don't want to falsely take credit for something. voltaic did not only provide the models, he was also responsible for the lot design. Apart from some minor changes I only added two left corner lots and made, as mentioned, the modding stuff. ;)

I think it's one of the train skins that oppie made years ago. I'm not sure if the original upload still exist, but it's also available at SimCityKurier: http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=381

Anyway the fact you did something to help perfect voltaic's work is appreciated. Voltaic outdone himself with these building from central Bern. SFBT has done well this year. The team has really suprise me with a lot of BAT, especially the commieblocks.  These BATs will definitely be put to good use from me.

Danke Andreas und alles SFBT, waren seine Weihnachten gut?

Oppie's items are still available at SimCityCentral (http://www.simcitycentral.net/). I didn't see the pack that Andreas linked to, but the individual trains are available. Also, SimCityCentral requires registration to get the downloads.

Nobody from SFBT answered here, and I think it could be interesting to give you news for people who are not speaking german.
Retranscription from Simforum, SFBT calendar was an institution but due to lack of members and creations, the team is not able to download one BAT a day.

They will try to do their best, and will upload what they have maybe after Xmas too. The first dowload is availbale here:

Girafe, thanks for posting, and unfortunately we have to confirm that this year we are not able to provide a download every day. Therefore, there is no SFBT advent calendar this year. Even with several team members helping out, a download every day is presently just beyond our reach. This year several items have been prepared that we try to finalize soon. We will try to provide a download every few days (also to the LEX), not restricted to the pre-Christmas time.

The referenced download at the SimCityKurier is in German. I just uploaded the English version at the LEX:

SFBT Hamburg Hein-Hoyer-Str 61-67 by stephenhh (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2721)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsc4devotion.com%2Fcsxlex%2Fimages%2Fbeximg%2FHeinHoyer6167_1.jpg&hash=3ece7afdf6793c106c26b0816e68c86aa58e89a8) (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsc4devotion.com%2Fcsxlex%2Fimages%2Fbeximg%2FHeinHoyer6167_2.jpg&hash=f4b0b4dce882e2a9e9bc9d8247be0a0388b6afad)
This download contains a residential building in the Hein-Hoyer-Street, located in an area of R-§ wealth just 200 meters north of the Reeperbahn in Hamburg St. Pauli

This information makes me very happy and I begin to feel the Christmas spirit. With the greatest impatience I expect to acquire Moscow University.

I don't know how old you are, but you seem to be one of the "pushiest" (not the term I really want to use, but trying to stay friendly and all), person when it comes to things.  You don't make requests, you make demands.  You are like a spoiled child when it comes to things and if you don't get it, you get more pushy.  SFBT are people who BAT for fun, and if they don't want to release MSU anytime soon, pushing them by saying what you said is not going to make them BAT it any faster than they are now.

I have made requests here on the forums over the years, and every time I have been given an answer, most of the time its not the answer I want to read, but I accept it and move on.  I don't go making request threads, poll threads, etc or make comments like " With greatest impatience I await...", I move on and keep an eye on the thread where I made the request to see if maybe something has come up where I may get lucky.

If you want MSU so bad, why don't you make it?  The excuse of not knowing how to BAT is not really a valid excuse, because every single member of SFBT at one time was just like you, and they learned how to do it.  I couldn't BAT to save my life if I had to, just like editing lots to fit what I want to do, using the tools created.  I learned the basics, by reading the guides(and having an issue that is easily resolved by using said tools, until that issue came up, I never tweaked things, but now that I can, guess what, I am going to have some fun trying out those tools now) that are offered here and elsewhere on how to do things like that.  In another thread, someone wanted slip lanes to go with a NWM avenue piece, and they created it and showed their work.  Yes it had some things wrong with it, but that person did try.
