Alright, I've started a new region because my old region was trash. :D Anyways, it took me a while to finally get an update going due to RL issues (Sprinting for track is such a :angrymore: and had to keep up my grades to an A. :P )
Damcaus
Damcaus is considered tourism captial of Onubis. For example, there are numerous of attactions such as this mosque or known as the Hassian Mosque. Although this is a very remote aera, this is one of the most scared places in all of the Middle East and Islam. Due to that, the Onubis Military is stationed next to the mosque so nobody bombs it due to relgious reasons.

Sorry for not replying here for about a month. :P I was busy with RL and couldn't get an update going. However, I have this! I'll show my main region as well as my side projects here. Here's one project and about 50% done.
Now, I tried to make this as much as like the USSR based from images and my plugins. I hope this is close enough....

I decided to do something I rarely do..... That is my first time I'm showing rural pictures! Please, I'm pretty rusty at this so please lay off the crizitism. Well, without further ado, here it is!
The village's only dairy farm.

The mayor lives here, but his only inconvinence is the gaint windturbine overshadowing his house.

Again, I'm rusty at rural city building. So, if you have any suggestions, please post them!
Really great pictures in the last updates. &apls I love the small village in the last picture.
The only thing I find odd are those W2W buildings in the middle of nowhere. ???
The both last pictures are very nice!!! Fantastic rural area, but I agree with Rickd, about those buildings "in the middle of nowhere"!!!
Nice work Evillions
W2W buildings are a bit not suited for this
- Netmod
AKA : Forthwall ;)
I like your attempts at flora, as they do have varying levels of texture. Human attempts at randomization is actually not so random. For natural areas, the repetitive spots can be overcome by changing your brush stroke, as well as filling in spots with different concentrations of different brushes. For Damcaus, however, I assume the area around the mosque is maintained. The repetitive look actually fits because landscaping has a more uniform distribution than natural fractals. Overall, well done! :)
Thanks for the comments!
*Yes, I know the W2W buildings look out of place, I couldn't find any other low-rise diagonals, so I had to use those mid-rise.
sumwonyuno : How could I change my brush stroke? Just don't overdo an area with the same flora or something? Besides that, thanks for the comment. It'll help me change some of my mistakes in that city.

Without a further ado, here's a small teaser I made.
There's no PS because I just wanted to show a teaser, not the real thing. This is just a WIP.

nice teaser, ive recently found jeronij's old Mediterranean low-rise house lots based on MBear's models, and the region i just started, or at least a few of the cities, will be Mediterranean themed. Just wish there were more Mediteranean industrial lots
Interesting teaser, i like the mix of Mediterranean and modern architecture :)
Thanks for the comments on the previous update! I hope this update can explain why I've been out for a while. ;)

Tour of Napoli Segment 1
Welcome to Napoli! Get ready for an awesome adventure because you're going an all around Onubis / Eurasia tour! For our first segment, Napoli is a great city if you're looking for views or entertainment.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNapoilEast1-1.jpg&hash=0bc0d6797b7db6c36be1bcbd0fe6ed344fcdff85)
Additionally, Napoli's upcoming Western Film called
False Grit will be due in early Q2 2011. Luckly, the filming crew didn't have to leave Napoli because of nearby dry land. If you're wondering if they had to build all of this, of course! For now, it's just the series of sets on a small area. After the film is done, they planning to turn this set into muesum for extra income.

Fantastic pictures!!! Very nice!!!
Wow! I enjoyed looking at all of the pictures of the previous two updates. ;) They are all well done!
For flora, it depends on which brush you're using, how you're using it, and what you want the effect to be. Some brushes can be placed densely and overlap well, and others don't. The windmill and dairy farm pictures on December 28th are good examples; that grass brushes you used are ones I use a lot. As for brush stroke, painting in smaller circles are good for density, while dragging in lines tend to make a sparser effect. I tend to use brushes that match with each other, and try to mix them so they blend. Don't worry you are really good at it already. :)
Love the shoreline in this update!
Thanks guys!

Another teaser for all of you, this time we're back at mainland Onubis.
Welcome to Al Shiek

Let's take a time travel back in time and check out Willowgrove located somewhere in America.......
The town hall and courthouse is also known as Government Block.

As days, weeks, months, and years pass. This settlement has grown enough that it needs expansion. This is the first phase for the expansion which is the town center.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FEdmonton-5.jpg&hash=d65b974c33c16903812ff045c6270d8907f1eda3)
Months pass and the second phase is in session, the settlement paves its roads, handles more traffic while having more safety features than unpaved roads. Sadly, this is where we must stop, construction is boring for all of you now isn't it?

Well, here's the newest update! :)
Where are we? The middle of the ocean or what?

Oh wait, there's life out there! But it's just a junk (the Asian term for a ship), what could this mean?
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FHiji-Nosan-5.jpg&hash=1a66453c4e7908691ce2f16841c2a4a444bdc72d)

Welcome to Nahijo, the city of new dreams.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNahijo-4.jpg&hash=38548cd4ace3249969213b209ddeb73dc9941523)
One of the major tourist attractions is the observation deck, the only way to access it is to pay a ticket through the house.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNahijo-6.jpg&hash=012737de2421321cee44dc4c4efb6c6f1de78c8d)

The basic way that people access this remote town is the tunnel. This is recently built when Onubis decided to set up businesses of Nahijo.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNahijo-1.jpg&hash=3cd42c541c15db93582212b0abbafaa76e20b56d)
For example, most of these businesses are owned by Onubis or Syldavia.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNahijo-3.jpg&hash=c3420f8237fda7b7ea3dcedf114584c672d24d96)
Another way to access Nahijo is by boat. However, this port can't hold long distance travelers such as Bangori to here. For example, the port can't hold a large passenger boat and its mainly used for shipping.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FNahijo-2.jpg&hash=9ad71d467c4712682e9146353bb51bd905824e7c)
I really want to return making Middle Eastern cities, but its so repetitive. I guess I have to put it on hold until new BATs come out. :(
Well done my friend, you really deserve the O.S.I.T.M. &apls &apls &apls &apls

Great work. I like the japanese style.
Congrats for OSITM!!!
Nice update my friend!!!
Great update! &apls
I really like the trees and rocks and those replacement SAM streets with Ennedi's slope mod really shine with the gently sloping road switch-backing down the hill! The port, tunnel, and city also look great. Can I ask what you used to make that observation deck?
Should be a good month! ;D
Congratulations on the OSITM :) It is well deserved! I love your asian style MD.
Keep it up! :)
Nice pics I love the little ferry terminal in the last picture!! Also congratulations on OSITM &apls

In the mountains somewhere, an unknown terrorist group demands a new leader due to constant problems of crime. As a result, the group is formed recruiting new rebels everyday.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FLesmid-1.jpg&hash=5b160f675f4593d5979a79c9b675081861b29dbf)
As one rebel climbs to the tower, the rebel pulls out his binoculars and waits until the sun falls.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FLesmid-2.jpg&hash=d44349c524b495029ce21679a7bc7166a681d569)
Out in the open, an oil refinery is a perfect place to generate income for the group. From the looks of it, they had to hijack a couple of US military equipment and numerous of AK-47s. The extra income would help them replace old weapons with better weapons.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FLesmid-3.jpg&hash=575d61efd1c846b4a57e4dce88c501ad8830d501)
Just a few more hours until night comes, this small town should be a good place to group new rebels.

I like the details of the rebel camp, it's a neat touch!
Interesting storyline and great pictures! The oil refinery looks just great! I like the photoshopped sun effect in the title picture and next picture.
Nice update love the change of scenery!!

Following from Lemsid......
==========
As the terrorists ventured out in the barren desert, they finally reached to an oasis. One group chose to camp out here for the day.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-1.jpg&hash=aef5e6cdb66b53bea2d26e0d7c4b7497f12a3da2)
Meanwhile, another group decided to go into downtown Lemsid.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-2-1.jpg&hash=daa041dd2bd45f1db8eacd9cbf115d3725c6321e)
That group decided to invade and take hostage of a nearby school. As a result, the government responds and sends the military.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-3.jpg&hash=995a19a8e08a8bfc2ee0ad9f921a2aea5fa5d06a)
At one point, the military goes into one street. It appears that there's going to be a large amount of opposition.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-4.jpg&hash=bf60a4d1d4b93563fd0d2eb407da36718b20c094)
The "opposition" is the terrorists, they regrouped just waiting to fight the military. According to military intel, the group originated from Karasem because they feel that the governments hasn't done anything for the people. Although it originated from Karasem, some Onubis people decided to join them forming this terrorist group.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-6.jpg&hash=9b0a768f52a1bc74d201eabe9b5351c0300718e4)
As both forces collide, a regular soccer field just turned into a battle field. This battle will end up spreading across Onubis due to other Arab nation's anti-government protests such as Libya.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-5.jpg&hash=26bdeee46277f286d631017f589a54033da20db1)

Hi, I love this cj! Could you tell me where you got the modern Japanese houses in this picture along the road?
Very nice update!!!
As the military sends a UAV to scan for more terrorist groups. It appears around this general area contains enough to outnumber Onubis' 26th platoon.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FOuterOnubis-1300503203.png&hash=a48c5997a61f6c5dd279eb6cd80fef64bdf13dab)
Onubis has sent one of their spies to the area. The only safe drop zone is the packed urban area in the UAV's scanning.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FBarenDesert-2.jpg&hash=4ea91c679b91f5db138c8c0d59ad4ad30d27b54f)
The spy has traveled to a small seaport to search anything unusual. It appears that he was captured by one of the terrorists and transported to the cargo ship.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FBarenDesert-1.jpg&hash=d3cf13ccc222355ff0ea88691ba7bcab3677aacc)
Due to the fact the ship is headed for Brazil, they had to jump off to a nearby coast-line in Onubis because they would be fleeing form the revolt.

As they travel upwards, it appears that they're in a small unknown town run by rebels and corrupt officals. But what will happen next? Stay tuned...

I'm going for a rural scene, so lets add some dirt paths and stone walls.

Problem solved... (sort of)

Very interesting :)
A canal to nowhere on top od a hill?.... :D
Taken from a local middle class man:
This civil war has gone too far because the oil wealth has corrupted too many citizens. Look at the rich! All they do is just sit there and drink vodka all day. This really makes me mad because they don't use their excess cash to do anything for the good of the people.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-7.jpg&hash=991fd4d378727d7a79c1d9aed282293c7b287d7b)
Even the city center is filled with those type of people, sinners...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-8.jpg&hash=bc2993e777fdf64927072869ebd0af01365b1b3a)
I mean, look at this, they're even wasting our well-earned wages just to light the high-rises.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus-9.jpg&hash=77c8ad6f2ad49cf0aa6372bbdd13fb9266870b1c)
Meanwhile in Europe....
The AIN Union has responded to the ongoing civil war and met in Trussels to discuss ways to stop the civil war. Currently, it's going to take days before any action could be put in place. So far, they're planning to support the Onubis government because the Prime Minister only served for four years and increased the overall wealth of Onubis.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FTrussels-1.jpg&hash=5858ba2a3e5248f4513b16eee672a9b11e2575e8)
Even at night, they still work around the clock to find ways to support the Onubis government.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FTrussels-2.jpg&hash=8b8311ced46eab7a6659fccdc3be9b043f0ea4f0)

Interesting. I like that viewpoint. :P
I HAVE to say something that has been bugging me. Lay-off the lens flares. You are good enough at photoshopping to make all these pictures look amazing. ;)

Nice Tower. Just like that hotel in Dubai
Very nice night scenes

Meanwhile in Onubis.....
Out in the coast of Damcaus, we're all scared of the local rebels because they took our families and friends. What savages, have they any feelings for others?
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcausCoast-5a.jpg&hash=49822a1a5a4c6c6d067d33dc6eafd719024a9a76)
All of our services are here and they suck..
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcausCoast-1a.jpg&hash=ee63133c9a7c717582d3a337f7996fecc5188c76)
The rebel's main compound, it's kinda like a genocide attempt. Really don't know why they do this...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcausCoast-2a.jpg&hash=564f84372908151140369974366c9b43bad2567f)
I mean, look at this poor area, you even have people living on the streets.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcaus3a.jpg&hash=b06117966968e780287157c8e5ea1b49e67c6e2f)
This is where they take the "inmates." They're worked for ten hours a day on the fields, two hours in the beer factory, and an endless beating during their time. None of us never know when they're ever coming out. It's been years before one comes out, but they come out almost dead or shot outside the compound when they're released.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FDamcausCoast-4a.jpg&hash=9f32feb89ca3f7762cad857b37bd66b0c1378766)
I really do hope the AIN at least sends in troops to get all of them out and save us from these rebels.

Oahu even has it Hispanic background because the Spainish has explored this area before. As a way to accomdate for the Latino community, the government built this multi-purpose building for the Latinos feel closer to their homelands.

For the Municipal Building, I see there's a rendering issue. I don't have that particular jagged edge at that zoom, and I hope it's just visual artifacts, rather than corruption. :-[

Finally I got to build the capital of Onubis, so far I have this:
The tallest building is the Onubis Tower containing condos and shopping centers.
The yellow building is the most luxurious apartment in all of the nation.

Nice update ! :)
I didn't comment the past updates then I'll say that the overview of south Oahu is really amazing !
Lovely update  I really like the Arab architectural notes from that featured building, the sunken canals, and those other buildings that dominate the city. Also, great use of skyscaper's new skyscraper from the STEX. Those Simfox "big large trees" look great, though a little repetitive in the zoomed out views--Girafe's new oaks and maples on the LEX could blend in with the Simfox ones perfectly and add a bit of variety. Looking forward to your continued development of the capital!

Next to the city center, this mosque is possibly the oldest structure in all of Onubis dating back to the 1400s.

Before 1500s, ancient Onubisain rulers built these tall structures for everyone to remember their accomplishments in their years.

In the outskirts of Onubis holds a small oil port or locally known as Al Jakeb. The living conditions are considerably poor as the river is polluted with toxins and other chemicals. This shows how the life expectany is rather low in this part of Onubis.

Besides that, Phenos houses the first spaceport that is suitable for civilian travel. For example, the average middle-class American can afford a ticket for $1,000, the average cost of some International flights. Additionally, it can only be accessed by using the ATEX system. In case someone tries to sneak into the spaceport, there are underground sensors that detects people. As a result if passed, guards will move to the location and arrest them.

The Martian Exploration Corp. has set an expedition to find new land. All they need is this small shuttle capable of this expedition.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FPhenosOutpost-1.jpg&hash=3e16c78069024442f983553321940d056e36f5db)
It looks like that they haven't found new land because it seems that it has been colonized before their arrival. For example, this shuttle port has been established.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FPhenosOutpost-2.jpg&hash=002f98d6f434bf39aa0a5eb9856424cd650772e2)
Based on sources, this parcel isn't officially colonized because there wasn't any source of this land being on the Martian Colonization Database.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FPhenosOutpost-3.jpg&hash=a199e146fe99cf9128b089a3d739a4d8f6a11de1)
Originally, it was meant for a scientific expedition to explore the properties of the Martian ice. For some reason, the scientists had trouble of returning back to Earth. (They came to Mars by the green tube like building which is actually a interstellar pod.) In secret, they colonized this land without the consent of Earthen officials.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FPhenosOutpost-4.jpg&hash=52d09e4b976b41904171b4d2e1026d9bba0bcf89)
In this unnamed, unofficial colony, the scientists went back to Phenos to get the governor to add this territory part of Phenos. For now, this territory doesn't have a city hall. As a result, they discussed the deal in this multipurpose building. (The tallest building in the image)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FPhenosOutpost-5.jpg&hash=8fbba17afd8b3f8f4db5273882c8035e437651c6)
At nighttime, this territory has officially became part of Phenos.

Kaihal, known as the worst city in Onubis. Various of crimes and drug routes are extremely common. What's even worse is the police force is corrupted and kills the innocent.

The water-side slums are slowly demolished to create beaches or other amenities. The beaches have barriers to separate the slums to the beach.

In the progression of the construction, the roads became paved and suitable for higher levels of traffic. Although the highrises might be out of place in this city, there's another plan to reform the police force.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
Another part of this renewal was the construction of a oil / cargo port.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1208.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc361%2FNeeltro%2FKaihal-12.jpg&hash=ade331ab0e4d12dcab0d1a04b80d655ed1b60014)
Currently, researchers are looking for ways to reduce pollution in this port considering it pollutes much more than large ports similar to its use. One idea they had was to construct a small building to somehow reduce pollution similar to photosynthesis.

Impressive !
I like the little picture story with the asian market ! Great work :)
I like the new works of the city center, with these two towers, they look just in place! As Robin said the the shack houses along the shorline are wonderful and represent well that city which is victim of the crime. The oil port looks great too, thought the "exit" is a bit too narrow to let the big boats make their way out! ;)

Just leftovers of a once industrial city, these factories are served as crack houses or makeshift homes.

So much abuse to the river led to horrible living conditions. Even the sewage plant can not even treat all of this pollution, what a mess.

Great update, really a very realistic city!!!
Very run down, very beat, and very good!
Thats a great few pictures you posted there, especially the one with the river going through the middle. The graffiti is a really nice touch on the walls.
Oh it's almost perfect ;). That bushes growing on the pavements and on the concrete rundown open areas are a great addition to the realism.
Very dirty city.....great job.

With the high demand of service stations and mom and pop stores, the Salem government gave permission to a construction company to erect new buildings.

See you in Simtropolis then
Pretty nice dude! I found those maxis house fit with the theme!
oh btw are the grasses plopable?
I decided to resurrect this Mayor Diary because for some odd reason (don't ask, I just felt like it. :P ). Anyways, I am going to start right where I left off, meaning that I will not post the most recent updates.
btw, can some moderator please move this back to the active section?-----------------------------
Gobar South
Gobar is not a complete wealthy city like Dubai, this city comprises one of the largest slums in Onubis. Based on the 2010 census, there are over fifty-thousand slum residents living in Gobar. Surprisingly, gleaming skyscrapers were even built in the South-side.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FGobarSouth-2.jpg&hash=b50679439871b1d418e480aa3f90fec89b71c3eb)
Parisian architecture is somewhat common in Gobar because the city used to be the prime trading port in the Middle East. During the French's time in colonial Onubis, Parisian architecture was built so that the French feel closer to home.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FGobarSouth-1.jpg&hash=25fed471960f2a219a6fb2ba09d6a43144aca86b)
Unfortunately, most of the Parisian architecture was demolished due to expansion. Recently, the Onubisian Historical National Register in order to preserve historical buildings.

Its nighttime and the city is lively as ever. The shops are usually packed with gullible customers and offices with 2nd shift workers.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FGobarSouth-4.jpg&hash=e840e58431e71bb851ce76a0ec502427b3e87ce5)
The city's port is considered to be one of the busiest ports of its size in Onubis. The port's workers dwell in government blocks or shanties.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FGobarSouth-5.jpg&hash=be7f072d61ce29eadcdef7c2aa595576b9dae420)

Last but not least, old city. Only partial sections survived throughout the centuries. This old city is considered to be one of the remaining in Onubis. Currently, this area is being restored to its former state and being protected by UNESCO.

I didn't realise you were over on this site too! I love Gobar! What is that really tall pointy skyscraper?
Nice one you have here! glad see you here again!
WARNING: LARGE IMAGE SIZES!
Away from the dense landscape lies a vast scape filled with farms and ports (mostly petroleum). Tabuk is an example of these areas. This town is known for the rural religious center as thousands of farmers congregate here.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.majhost.com%2Fgallery%2FEvillions%2FSc4%2Fjukal-1.jpg&hash=c8c231468874663a920a8ad664cb0bcb4982d29a)
Within this small town, many people live in shanties due to the high expenses of a small apartment.

Along with the religious structures, Tabuk has historical structures as these palaces originated from the Ottoman Empire era.

Gobar East
While the downtown of this city is located near the Gobar International Airport, the people suffer from noise and moderate pollution. Compared to the other areas in Gobar, this is considered to be the second most desirable area, behind the main Gobar district.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.majhost.com%2Fgallery%2FEvillions%2FSc4%2Fgobar_east-4.jpg&hash=5d1ce0f3b9e7a092b55d447db4bd94f28258a67b)
Unlike most districts of Gobar, this district is the most educated because of high-attendance in local schools and a new outlook on education. For this reason, more wealthier people are moving into this district.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.majhost.com%2Fgallery%2FEvillions%2FSc4%2Fgobar_east-2.jpg&hash=a0105502eae05366e5a1aee5bfe5aceabb67402a)
Contributing to this districts high-academic rankings, the airport enables the exchange of ideas and the movement of goods. Therefore, the people are more exposed to technological and educational advances than the other districts. To compensate for the increasing industrial demands, the government is planning to construct a cargo terminal opposite of the passenger terminal.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.majhost.com%2Fgallery%2FEvillions%2FSc4%2Fgobar_east-3.jpg&hash=ee4c5b3fcc2faa154038128024b3296dc2e31dbf)
During nighttime, this district is known for its extensive amount of nightclubs and bars because of its potential economic benefit from the tourism sector. These night venues are nationally known across Onubis because of its strict requirements to enter these venues.

Nice airport picture!
Away from the dense urban landscapes, Muheed is the largest city in the western Gobar administrative region.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FHighway-3.jpg&hash=0aeef062910702a98735646f213e1143cd2453e9)
Within this small city, a highway cuts through the city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FHighway-2.jpg&hash=b6c10bb9607c9721ff4576872337f3cedf75284b)
As shown below, this piece of parcel was initially developed for connecting both sides of the river. Eventually, farmers and regional businesses found this parcel to be desirable. Therefore, the city Muheed was born.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FCity-Highway.jpg&hash=7ea99a34b6d7bde6d58e3a6a4c6ccf7feb680f3c)
Only recently that oil has been found in this parcel. Soon, this city's main source of income became oil. This oil is exported to other regions in Onubis and foreign nations. As a result, Muheed rapidly expanded and still continues.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FHighway-1.jpg&hash=0eb84d526f79c7695a4d5787953ce01e5cb2b883)
Very nice update again. The bridge approach is massive but I guess it has to be so that ships can pass under the bridge.
Another sandbox update from me, this time, showcasing how I build my rural areas of Onubis.
--------------------------
Since this is not my main region, I created a different region solely for sandbox updates. First, start with a blank canvas.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-1.jpg&hash=81e40b020978b0d28302583dc8340cb7584ce8de)
Terraform the landscape, you should have a part of the land being almost at sea-level. This is so that vegetation can grow as well as crops.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-2.jpg&hash=9f6e7c42bad241a79760c69dd09ad3f3c92b1dd8)
Next, drag a couple of streets and place something unique such as an obelisk.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-3.jpg&hash=fe81b9269b10b0efee6c63fd1f9f7d603c8a9ddd)
In order to make this a functional town, I zoned a couple of low-density residential 5x5 zones.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-4.jpg&hash=468dc213cb0061e6cd342acf2da76a288ff0e937)
In addition to zoning, add some 1x1, 1x2, and 2x2 residential zones along with a 4x5 low-density commercial zone. Fast forward the game time and buildings should start to grow.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-5.jpg&hash=b0196c78a2584c7888d8e09810e131ebae3dee6b)
Since the unemployment amounts are significantly high, zone more 4x5 low-density commercial zones along with more streets.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-6.jpg&hash=c9b37737df4ee2abb0c3621b63a2018671e672b4)
With this empty space, add some filler lots that has the same base texture as the lot.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-7.jpg&hash=cf6626ef6d24434ce159a9de7d18fb3659ff8967)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-8.jpg&hash=918f8a95b27790375d6d1e99a64c375d761b1586)
Zone more 1x1, 1x2, and 2x2 commercial zones and farm zones to fill the empty space.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-9.jpg&hash=60bda9937d4882ce4697673fea0a3e9e38801ed0)

Then, add some vegetation. Do not add vegetation on any other areas because it would look unrealistic.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FSandboxMiddleEast-11.jpg&hash=45af4b9522d64a5ebd00b54a671da036baabb3c6)
Finally, the eye-candy.

This district alone accounts more than half of Gobar's fish-related products. Mainly, the fish caught are cod or tuna. After the fish is caught, they are stored in these warehouses.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi681.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv174%2FIndexdude%2FMale-3.jpg&hash=4026d4fa5bcf412f2f0ccb4ab8e56b223c413b50)
Aside from the fishing industry, Rashed attracts thousands of tourists weekly. The middle-class and lower usually stay at the Faruq Hotel.

On the contrary, the upper-middle class and above would stay at the Rashed Hotel. Due to close proximity of the UNESCO Heritage Site, prices are in the 670 OD range (or $330 USD).

Going west from Rashed lays the most unique town in Onubis, Zain. This small town is known of its grassland and scenic ocean view.

nbvc: I'm glad you liked it! :) Thanks for the comment.
as I say in AIN... looks like middle eastern layout in Japanese style
but it's very good though!
I agree with the previous speaker. The district is not sufficiently mixed. :-[ It looks too much like planned. :( I like the large building there, it looks very impressive.
It seems like I haven't commented on your MD yet. I like your MD and either the Japanese and the Middle Eastern style. I like the nightshots in particular. It is great to see a KLM plane on the Gobar international airport, so that we can travel to Onubis from the Netherlands. :)

Great updates &apls The first picture of the last update is just great
Ever since the people of the Arab World protested for increased human rights and less corruption, riots broke out in Egypt, Libya, and other nations. Though no outside nations helped the people, they successfully overthrew their leaders. What if foreign nations did help the people? What if it happened in Onubis? In a hypothetical scenario, the United States did intervene in the civil war in Onubis.
--------------------------
With increasing human right abuses and government corruption, the people of Onubis can not handle the current situation any longer. Since this spark, people from militias across the nation, attacking the military, government officials, etc. As a result, the Onubisan president swiftly acted by ordering the military to hunt down these militias. As the situation grew worse, U.S. President Barrack Obama initially urged the Onubisan president to step down peacefully. Like most leaders, he refused and continued the war. Several months later, President Obama militarily supported the rebels. Day by day, the Onubisan military weaken as they were no match compared to the superior U.S. military.

The battlefield steadily moved towards urban environments. Although the people were urged to evacuate, they decided to support the U.S. military.

The Onubisan president frantically panicked and issued martial law across the nation. He knew this day is coming and will not back down without a fight. Secretly, he arranged meetings with his allies, hoping to garner foreign military support and restore order.

Dantes: Think of it this way, Kyoto was a planned township back in the 700s. I somewhat based my city off of Kyoto.
