Title: Wouanagaine's random backyard
Post by: wouanagaine on December 10, 2010, 12:10:09 AM
Hi everyone

Welcome to my backyard where I'll post pics of random cities I'm building

There won't be any story, even not any regional playing, just cities

Anyway I'll hope you'll enjoy the trip

Well , a new MD from the Big Wou's , what a good surprise !  :)  "Big guns" of this site don't use to have MD(s) anymore , we can even wonder if they are still playing SC4 ...  :D ( I know , they're too busy for , you know now what was my choice ... )

Promising pictures , wish you the best for that new adventure !

Nice small update there Wouanagaine, there's a nice feeling in this town. Although, I'm not really fan of the rail line crossing the avenues, I think with an underpass or overpass it'll be better.

Take care,
-Arthur.

Well, seems to be I left a not too small footprint behind me regarding level crossings and railways - these days I don't have to nag on that personally anymore ...  :D

I agree with the night lighting, when I turned on night mod for the first time since an eternity in order to make a night update I was really surprised and pleased with what I got.

Take care!

Bernhard

PS: One again?  ;)

Quoteyou're right, I should have make an underpass, it would have make the transit better

Much more RL to have a good old pain in the neck level crossing right in the heart of downtown.

That first night pic...  I can see a lone cab driving up that avenue just after midnight.  One last fare and it's time to head for the barn.  Very evocative, Steph- I'll be back!

Thanks for visiting !

Today a purely experimental city, somewhere you don't want to live in ( at least I don't think I'd like to live in that kind of city :) )

This is a functional city with only 2x1 low residential houses for suburbian purpose
As you can see it generates massive amount of cash
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fileden.com%2Ffiles%2F2006%2F7%2F28%2F145206%2FScreenShot288.jpg&hash=3f072f95309b9d16431e1215973e94174a7b2db7) (http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206/ScreenShot288.jpg)

and the big mosaic ( clic to enlarge 3.6Mb )

On the mosaic, in the second commercial district from the top, the ground texture is black as the background, it means it is missing !

Thanks guys for visiting

I've just get back to that nasty place , and it was not a missing dependancy but just the graphics hasn't update before I take the screenshot

Back to that same tile, I've tried to see how much pop I can get in a few years

here is the result ( flash file, please wait while loading )
http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206/suburb_growth.swf
(clic here (http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206/suburb_growth.swf) to get full size )

a bit borring but interesting to see such a griddy city is very profitable
For the record, the city has only water, power, police and fire coverage, no health and no education at all

I'll get back to that city once more and try address the massive transit problem ( there is no bus or mass transit )

Happy new year

This is a small city tile right? Because I'm really struglling to get similar effect on a large city tile, just stopped growing. Well probably it's because, I have 1000 jobs and 120.000 people. Can't wait for more.

Very cool stuff. This experimental city actually looks quite good for sticking to the grid so closely. Even though I have these buildings in my plugins folder, I think I don't see them nearly enough since I do not typically zone 2x1 residential. Long story short you've given me tons of ideas  ;D
