Title: Two questions about growable lots.
Post by: magnum_sharp on January 30, 2011, 12:56:21 PM
I'm new to all this custom stuff so there's naturally alot of question marks buzzing around in my head.
There's two questions that spring to mind at the moment:

Firstly, is it possible to control what growable building it is that will grow at a certain spot? I don't want each block to be a mozaic of every single building style known to mankind. Neither do I want block after block to look exactly the same.

Secondly (this might be a bit off topic; but anyway), does downloaded lots replace the original Maxis lots, or do they just add to the possible number of lots that might grow when you zone?

The only way you can control growable lots is by choosing which style (Chicago, New York, Euro or all together) you like. When the same buildings grow in the neighborhood too often, just change the zoning size or bulldoze them in hope that other models grow.
For your second question, the downloaded lots you add to your pluginsfolder will simply add to the whole collection, unless you download a mod that will not allow Maxis lots to grow.
So be careful with what you download, too much will slow down the game, all depending of the computer you got.
