Hello everybody.
I have a question regarding IHT with the use of CAM. I have a fairly large city (500,000+) and the integriculture boxes keep popping up like weeds. However, none of SOMY's IHT lots that came with the starter pack are growing. I'm pretty sure I have the right zoning because integriculture grows on 6x6 lots just as SOMY bldg1 and bldg2 do.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Are you familiar with Ilive's Reader? (Download Link (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=656)). I believe if you lowered the building value to match SOMY's then they will grow with equal chance. I could be wrong, just remember reading that somewhere in the Maxis Strategy Guide years ago. Not much you can do about this problem without Reader (other than demolishing all Integricultures and removing it from plugins).
If you are in Reader you can also "block" Lots from growing. My preferred method for this is to change the Min Slope for Development to 100+ the original, but there are many ways to do it.
Simple answer: CAM 1.0 doesn't allow High Tech demand to go above 12,000, making it highly unlikely for the big Somys to grow. Secondly, Integriculture is a Stage 10 building, the same as Somy 1 and 2, meaning if it grows first the others can never grow.
Not so simple answer: The problem with demand is fixable. Either by CAM 2.0 beta, or by altering demand figures used by the game:

This topic explains how to do it.
The stage 10 thing with Integriculture can be "sidestepped" by changing the Integriculture lot file to grow at stage 9 instead of stage 10
(I-ht10_6x6_Integriculture_f350ac39.SC4Lot, found in CAM -> Industry in your Plugins folder). This will allow the Intercultures to eventually grow into Somy 1s and 2s. You'll need iLive in order to access the file and do the changes.
If you need more detailed explanations, I'll be glad to help! :)
Those 4×7 stage 10 industrials by SOMY unfortunately have too high a capacity (over 12,000) for them to grow in CAM 1.0.
That will be fixed in CAM 2.0, and they do also grow if you've got XX Turbo (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2462).
If you want them to grow in CAM 1.0, the best thing to do would be to reduce their maximum capacity to around 10,000.
For that I'd recommend PIM-X (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2260) (also known as SC4PIM). ;)
EDIT:
And after the reply by HappyDays mine wasn't really needed... ::)
Awesome, thanks for all the quick replies! If I do make these changes to the stage and capacity, can I have them take effect in a current city or do I have to start over from scratch?
I've done the same changes to cities I'm in the middle of building, and I have noticed no issues.
Alright, thanks again! I'll let you guys know if I have any more questions.
