Don't panic, it's possible, but there are some things you should know. ()stsfd()
There are more ways I think, but this is the easiest way:
Just download a building from the Google 3d gallery. Then open 3ds MAX, click on import and select the file(.skp).
Now you have a .3ds, open gmax BAT and import the .3ds file.
Now you can export your building and edit it with the plugin manager and/or the lot editor and then you're done!
There's only one thing: When importing .3ds files to gmax BAT all textures will get lost.
Hope I've helped you,
-Matthijs
Thanks Matthijs, I didn't even know 3DSMax could open .skp files :)
OK WAIT A MIN. WHATS 3ds MAX IS THAT SOMETHING ELSE I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD? AND IF ALL THIS WORK WHERE IS DA PLUGIN MANAGER AND(OR) LOT EDITOR?
I assume that you're completely new to all those programs. Let me explain it a bit:
3ds MAX is program similar to gmax BAT or SketchUp. Actually, you need to pay for it, unless you're a student you can download it for free here. (http://usa.autodesk.com/)
You can download the plugin manager and the lot editor by clicking on th EA support button on the top of the site.
The are some good tutorials about those programs in one of these boards (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php#3), but it's not as easy as you think it is.
;)
