Title: Crash to desktop by Swiss Re?
Post by: Hyronymus on April 15, 2011, 12:40:55 PM
Yesterday I closed Simcity 4 the normal way but before the city screen disappeared I noticed that a big brown box where the Swiss Re was going to appear. So I thought to myself "something to check tomorrow". But I can't because my city won't load :(.

I am quite confident it has to with Caliban's Swiss Re after I almost ruled out the possibility the X-ports upgradable seaports caused it (simply by reinstalling them, cleanitooling etc.). Still though, 1 dependency turns out missing there:
MISSING : BSCBATProps RT MineCorp Vol01.dat has not been found, you can download it : http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=529
Following that link shows me this is now part of BSC MEGA Props RT Vol04, which I have installed. So I'm a little confused as a result.

I wouldn't enjoy loosing my city much so I really hope someone can think along with me.

Caliban's Swiss Re is not and never has been part of BSCBATProps RT MineCorp Vol01.dat. Caliban Lots (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=207)
The Cleanitol file for that set of lots has no mention of BSCBATProps RT MineCorp Vol01.dat so whatever Cleanitol file you are usng is not the one for the Caliban lots. None of the lots in that pack are likely to cause CTDs and a CTD is not usually caused by a missing model which is what a brown box is.

Well, I decided to start again with my city as I couldn't get it back to work.

And that Minecorps dependency belongs to X-ports seaports as I wrote. So indeed nothing to do with Caliban's work.
