I know you can import MP3's into your radio station folder on SC4. Can you though DatPack those MP3's and everything will work fine. The reason I'm asking is because I have a bunch of music I wanted to add in there. Thought I would see if anyone has already tried this and if it worked.
First thought: No. The game's specifically looking for MP3 files. It's unlikely to have been programmed to assume a .dat file in there is filled with delicious MP3s waiting to play.
probably wouldnt work, but why not just mute the sound in SC4 and play the mp3s you want to play in another media player?
I haven't tested this but I'm 99% sure datpacker will totally IGNOR any mp3 (or other similar) files... it is designed to work only on the "graphics" type files.
This would mean that you could use whatever music files you wish and they would work the same after using Datpacker as they did before.
Ok well I didn't think of this before, but when you open Dat Packer, it does only show the files or folders that are able to Dat Pack. So now I'm wondering, can you condense or zip the music files and place them into the Radio folder and if that would work. I've always un-zipped files, what do they call it to go the other way? How would one go about doing it?
