Title: Re: Kromeritz.. [CLOSED]
Post by: robercik on May 15, 2011, 10:04:21 AM
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg190.imageshack.us%2Fimg190%2F9739%2Fbannerzx.jpg&hash=ea0506d0dac21ea53a3864ab4e26cab59ed5fa3e)

.. an European style MD.

This is not my first attempt at making CJ\MD, but it's my first one on SC4Devotion. Two previous didn't last long as I got kinda fed up with them. Maybe this time I'll have more luck :D!

Without to much talking I present you the... Kromeritz !

Today just a sketchy introduction (can I say it like that? :) I thought that while making this MD I could also get some "english lessons" from you guys ;). So feel free to correct my spelling and other stuff.. :D )

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg64.imageshack.us%2Fimg64%2F3298%2Fkromeritzoneuropemap.jpg&hash=3cd5e490e21c3089199a5d31ee50e9ed2f5296f9)

Kromeritz borders Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland, as I intend to give it an "European feel"

The whole idea started with making a little paper planning:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg268.imageshack.us%2Fimg268%2F4835%2Fszkicy.jpg&hash=648e9874e2d4d6c0a8d282a304c830fe59fe7020)

And this is the resoult as for now:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg193.imageshack.us%2Fimg193%2F5016%2Fmerged1and2tilessmall.jpg&hash=a4a210f37ac183b0b86f0a04e88f5f5ccc1f8fb0)

I've merged two small city tiles in Photoshop:),
here's a link to a bigger version: http://imageshack.us/f/90/merged1and2tilesbig.jpg/ (http://imageshack.us/f/90/merged1and2tilesbig.jpg/)

That's all for the beginig. Expect the first update soon as I'm already finishing it. I'll show you some close-ups

Cześć! Miło widzieć jakiś kolejny polski MD ;)
Nice to see another polish MD!
Your screen looks very nice, evertthing fits quite well! By the way it seems like some miniature train dummy  ;D
Where did you placed it?
Gdzie to umiejscowiłeś? Dolny Śląsk, Wielkopolska czy może od Czech? ;)

This is a promising thing!
A new country in this area has some real political implications... A historically sensitive area.

The look of the landscape is very natural: you can see that the farms are added later and that some parts of the forest have been kept in place. Especially in the middle part of the image where the road makes some turns through the trees.
Also the many farm fields without a house to it looks very natural. I guess you plopped them?
As last: a question. What is that enormous factory in the upper right corner?

Please continue!

REPLAYS:
Reikhardt, Benoit, RickD, Tomas Neto - thanks guys!

kbieniu - Cześć, cześć! Miło dostać pierwszy komentarz od rodaka :D.
Hi, hi! Nice to get the first comment from the countryman. What do you mean by saying "miniature train"? As you can see on the map I've placed it bordering Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.

FrankU - It's nice to receive such a comment. Yes, I've plopped the farm fields. The enormous factory in the upper right is actually a powerplant. After registrating you can download it here: http://www.simcitypolska.pl/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=196  (http://www.simcitypolska.pl/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=196)
You can see it in this update.

Well... I've written that you can expect an update soon, but it took some time. Sorry for that - I had my exams, "matura" ( "A Levels" in Britain ) and as my holidays started i had no time for making an update - parties:D:D

Let's go on to the update..

I'll present you some closeups of the areal view posted before. I've managed to detail the river a little. Enjoy..

REPLAYS:

Jack Bauer, peter007-Ernst, Terring7, Ol.S / Benoit, bat - Thanks a lot guys!

nedalezz - for some of the construction elements I advise you to just type "construction" in the BSC Lot Exchange's or Simtropolis Stex's searchbox.
I've downloaded this set: http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=51 (http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=51)
If you want do download the set containing the "curved highway bridge" and pylons construction click this link : http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=52 (http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=52)

You don't have to register there! :D

Wybacz, że wcześniej nie widziałem ostatnich updatów. Miasteczko wygląda obiecująco.
Miałem na myśli, w jakim regionie "umiejscowiłeś" TEN konkretny fragment. ;)
A z kolejką, to miałem na myśli, że właśnie ów fragment przypomina taką makietę.
No i jakżeś się uchował? :D

Wow! Sorry I hadn't seen last updates before. Small town looks promising!
I also meant, where did you "placed" THIS ONE part ;)
Where wehre you before, we haven't seen you at SCP? Your nature looks excellent, the river valley looks like from reality. May I ask for coordinates to this small bridge?

I like the mix of flora along the river.  Though, I would expect the river to be a bit dirty by the construction area.  Heh, they must be doing a good job cleaning after themselves.   :P

Witam.

Hello.
I came here in total chance to preview the syntax to create for your diary. And I must admit that I could not get better. Nice to see so well creating a compatriot of the city. Green areas and the town presented excellently. In addition, well-inserted corner house with murals by me. It looks really phenomenally.

I cordially greet and wait for the next batch of great photos.

BACK after, as it says "Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 90 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic" ... after more than 90 days :D

The reason is that I started studies. Medicine to be precise, so you can imagine I don't have lot's of free time :/. But I got "motivated" for lunching the game once more from time to time and decided to share something with you if it turns out nice.

Now I own a diffrent computer, which runs Windows Vista  - Lot Editor doesn't work on this as far as I know, so I am limited to what we can find on the web.
And olso I don't have the old files, so previous updates won't be continued. You can have a look at the whole town I made back then here:

As you can see, we have a little change of climate here. Enjoy.

I came after this map: NHPEnsenada Mexico, and "thought why not?"

So, briefly speaking. Here's an overview with a spot I'll present marked:

Great start! The little harbor area looks great, especially the way you made that little peninsula of land poke out and decorated with boats, etc. Glad to see he diagonal bridge too. The city looks very promising  &apls

I've made a decision to give up this MD, and give up this game at all. It takes a lot of time to make a city look good enought to satisfy me and that's the reason:D

It has been a pleasure playing this game for few years but as I'm studying now... you guys know the deal ;) I have to devote my time to some diffrent matters.

So.. thank you everybody, and good luck!

see you! ;)

Sorry to hear that this MD will not continue, but the best of luck with your studying.
I will move your MD to the inactive section in 45 days and if you feel like you want to move it back just send a PM to myself or any other staff member.
