Title: Make Historical (query) -- what is it's purpose and what does it do?

I don't understand what the 'Make Historical' under the query is for or what it does... does it do anything as regards to my city? can someone explain it's purpose, and what it does?

If you want keep a building and prevent replacing, mark it as "historical". The building will stay there, no matter what.
