Hi, first of all, excuse me for my english, it´s not my native language.
I have serious difficulties to make nice beaches, realistic ones. I have HD White Sand Mod installed, but I can´t terraform my cities well, so my beaches are not what I could call "real". Also, I have tried a lot of ploppable beaches that don´t fit as well as I would like.
The question is: Do you know how can I solve this? Any tutorial? I have seen, for example, the beaches of Yann´s Corsica MD, and are great. I don´t expect that level of realism, but something close would be nice.
Thanks in advance,
Afanado
Hi Afanado, Welcome to SC4D :)
To get the best beaches, you would modify properties in the Terrain Exemplar. A tutorial can be found here (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=11691.0), though it isn't really step-by-step. Not too sure how Yann did the beaches, but it looks like he used a low Max Height and a long Max Width. These properties can be found near the end of the Exemplar in Reader.
Good Luck :)
If you really wanted that beach texture to shine, you would change the Terrain Texture Tiling Factor to 0.1-0.12. This would make your other textures look worse though.
Hi Lowkee, thanks for your fast answer! I´ll give it a try!! ;)
Hi again, Lowkee, I´ve downloaded Ilives, and I did some tests as you advice me, but I can´t manage to increase beaches. Do you know a reasonable value to put into it? I´ve tried several but no changes...
Thank you very much!!!
The Terrain Exemplar is used by most all terrain mods. Try putting your plugins so that it will load after the terrain mod (zzz_beach). I don't know much about those settings, try making a very large beach first.
Thanks again!!!! I´ll try that!! ;)
