Title: SC4 on a netbook
Post by: jayo on September 15, 2011, 02:58:38 PM
Unfortunately due to financial constraints , when looking for a new laptop, the only thing I could afford was a netbook (Acer Aspire One 532h-2DS). I never intender to play SC4 on it, but after coming on the site again, I decided I'd give it a go again.

I purchased this (http://"http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=samsung+cd+drive&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=7724764659893680905&sa=X&ei=I0pyTvKBDoeo8QPp892XCg&ved=0CFwQ8wIwAw") CD drive and installed it. Everything went smoothly and Installed fine.

I've been having problems when the game loads up. I get the start up screen and click play and the bridge image comes up, and then I get this error message telling my insert disk.

My netbook runs windows 7 starter. Here are the specs.

Acer Aspire One 532h-2DS
Processor           Intel Atom (N450, 1.66 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 512 KB L2 cache)
Operating System   Windows 7 Starter
RAM                   1GB
Hard Drive           160GB (SATA)
Graphics           Integrated (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 with 128MB
Graphics)

I've seen threads about people with similar problems but no answers it seems?

Thanks in advance people.  :D

Are you by any chance trying to play using CD1 (Deluxe uses CD2 to play)?

I must admit, I did forget about that, but having said I did try both disks. I just tried disk two again now and I can hear it running it my disk drive but nothing loads and after about a minute the CD just stops running and nothing happens.
