Have started working batting this powerstation that have thinking of doing for quite sometime: Svanemøllewærket / Swane Mill Powerstation.

Not sure about the size of the back (the high part). Think I need to scale it on x and y axis.
Think this going to be a biggest bat to date.

Might just need to scale this.
That's pretty awesome. I have passed it daily the last 6 months and always thought it would be an excellent addition to SC. Even contemplated to try to bat it myself.
It looks great already! excellent texture for the bricks. But I think you should keep the DONG energy logo instead of simcity.

Good job! I especially like the roof texture and the lighting.
Looking already lovely, Arne! I really like the sense of humor with the "Simcity Energy" sign!

Needless to say, the smokestacks add so much character to the building.
Looks great, I think you need to increase the size of the bricks on your wall so we can see the brick details a little. :)
Keep it up.
Excellent job!!! How big will the lot be?
I have a small request, now that you have the textures (and you can definitely reuse parts of the modelling work), could you please make a smaller version too? It would be useful for small cities.
Here is (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/files/file/2493-small-coal-plant/) a small power plant on the STEX. I have remodded and relotted it, and I use it extensively. But it's an old BAT and has problems (glitches) with its nitewindows, and the bricks are unrealistically red. I could send you the lot to take a look, if you are interested.
Thank you both.
Cogeo: Which part of the building would you prefer ?
Not sure about the lot, the lods will be 83.1 x 180,8 m.
Got a bit tired of filling in windows and other details,
so I worked a little more on the night lights:

Yeah, this is a big one.
I don't have any specific preference about the model, just any part that could be fitted in a small lot and still looking like a coal (and why not, oil as well - if you make the other one too ;D) power plant. Below is a pic of how I have relotted the model from the STEX:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg825.imageshack.us%2Fimg825%2F7806%2Fscpplot.jpg&hash=0736b551d2d3a01525ef123af93e963c08e3e73c)
Neither the model has to be like that, nor the lot be 4x2 (but not 4x4 either). I guess you get what I mean: something smaller than the ingame one.
That is an ugly one! Bright red bricks, wow!

Not sure what I can squeezes down on a 4x2 lot. I will try at one time.
Still working on the bat. Almost finish the nightlight. Still some details to work on.
How about this start:

Got the basic lines in place:

Think I will change the teextures on the chimney.
The size is 36,9 x 27,1 m
EDIT:
How about this change of textures:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FSPPv02sA.jpg&hash=dab0fb5ddd74bc767db8a1a703d354d656b63241)

Ohhhhh.
More progress. I have no complaints at all. Perfectly done Arne!!
I can't wait to get my hands on these two.
Robin &apls
Nice work! I like that brick texture very much, even though you've toned it down a lot from the Lego-bright red RL one. On the topic of small power plants, I remember it being shown once in the Show us your Power Grids thread that much of the space taken by a power plant complex consists of parking and outbuildings rather than the actual generators themselves. So, the small facilities could be used for that application as well as limited-space environments (such as cities). It sounds to me like the plant itself (minus any other lot features such as parking) could actually fit on a 3×2 lot. If 4×2 won't work, then what about 4×3? That would at least be a 4-tile savings versus the 4×4 Maxis coal plant which has been a staple of every major installment of the game.
Thank you Robin and metarvo.
The small powerplant is done and exported. ()stsfd()
Added some light to the chimneys after noticed the light from the city on the chimneys on the RL powerplant:

Still some roof junks to add, mainly on the lower roofs.
metarvo: The goal was to do a small powerplant that could fit on a 2x4 lot or maybe even 2x3.
That is a thing of beauty!!

Finish working on the north facade. Changed the south facade a little at the top.
Added an "edge" to the roof, worked with base of the walls and changed some textures.
Still not sure about the east facade.
Don't have any good pictures of the base of the east and north facade.
The size is now 51.6 x 71.7 m.
Top notch quality Arne!!
I can't wait to try these out in game.
I'm really glad that you added that roof edge.

Superb work Arne!!! &apls
All three power plants are gorgeous!
The small one is as good as its bigger cousin, and I'm sure it will prove very useful to players building small cities (and don't want to plop a bunch of wind turbines).
I have a modding suggestion, pls don't make outputs equal to the ingame one, instead make them quite different (and of course modify the other stats & costs accordingly), so that players have alternatives. Btw such a modding decision would be vastly useful to lots like police stations, which don't respond well to funding adjustment (you basically have to set funding to 100% - default). Eg it would be nice to have a police station with a coverage radius larger than the ingame deluxe station, another one between the large and the small one, and an additional with a radius smaller than that of the small, but larger than the kiosk.
I like it - You're great BATer &apls &apls

Finished of the front. Might change the first site to add a door to it.
Still need to finish of the corner wall, the back wall and the gable triangle.
This is shaping up to be a masterpiece, Arne. The detail work is stunning, and I really like the "cutoff" corner. It adds a lot of character to the structure.
All in all, this one is coming along very nicely, and I can hardly wait to see the finished work.

Thank you, Joan.
I like the cut of corner as well. Very Copenhagen like.
Its was part of the building code for the city that corner-buliding has to have the corner "cut-off".
Doing some progress:

Working on the gable. Added a double door to the side.
The footprint is 18.1 x 41.9 m, which would fit on 2x3 tile lot.
Looking really good! Would it be W2W corner ? If yes, would you make a mirrored version as well?
Your textures are absolutely amazing, Arne, not to mention the details you put into all your work. The architectural design of your powerhouses is astonishing. Such "frills" would be unheard of in the U.S. where "build it fast and cheap" is the only priority.
I guess you know I want one of these beauties. Maybe you can figure out a way to hide a NUT somewhere in the BAT so our copies will be unique. ()flamdev()

The 3 police stations and the first two power plants has been exported and sended on last week.
Something was off on the power station. Couldn't set my finger on it.
Finally figured it out:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FBTPSv10.jpg&hash=664917ec54d94c5ff7eb5077bb0800a7adb2c9b0)
Changed the width of the building with 2 meters, adding 1 meter to the two corner and leaving the middle of the front untouched.
Had to redo the gable at the front, but luckily it was a lot faster second time around.
My plan now is to do some stand alone chimneys inspired by this one:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FForbrndingsanstaltenlarge.jpg&hash=36a141864688a6b4c51405775f36ff805d0d470f)
Doing them in a few different sizes.
Noticed the people at the top ?
Gone a litlle NUTs:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FChimneyR03-1.jpg&hash=9e23509e2d801001750fd082221249c369060552)
So how many brick textures do you think I have use to do these chimneys ?
Have also work a little more on the Bristol Power Station:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FBTPSv2_r02.jpg&hash=a2d173d0590e945b76f86dd2c2ee4dc69edbced4)
Think I will render different versions of it. Might even make a power station of that small building at the back :P
As it is there, the "lot" with the tiles on, are 2 x 4 tiles. (and NO it will not be there in the export)
Beautiful work , Arne ... &apls

Hmmmm , I don't know, but I hope you'll render them all and then , a prop family ... ;D
Cédric.
Looks like some protesters are occupying one of the chimney's. These look great. Nice texture selections.
It seems like your power plant workers are going on strike or something. You'd probably better raise your power funding, or you'll get blackouts. ;)
As far as the textures go, I think the fifth one matches the main section of the facility best, while the third one seems to go best with the other section of the building. I like the sixth one as well.

.... would you make a mirrored version as well?
A mirrored version of it for Arthur:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FBTPSv12bD.jpg&hash=ba956fb2c6782827888f5e5f2f8ff011192ff094)
Or partly mirrored version.
Oh great! Thank you very much, Arne! This looks great for sure!
Start working on the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Powrehouse:

Love the textures and brick work.

TY, Robin. Glad you like them.
Been worknig on the back adding a loading dock and entrance door:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FSMPS%2FHMRPH_V10n.jpg&hash=01040e3e626e9e8b3fadb854fbc137417b89ce5c)
Not sure if that is the right place for it. Maybe this one is better:

(Some quick and dirty PS'ing)
What do you think ?
I think it's perfect in the middle.
Gorgeous BAT and textures, indeed!
Well Jmouse had the same opinion, so I will leave it were it is.
Here is an update. Been working on the night lights:

Not sure if I should add some more or not.
Maybe add more spot light on the exterior walls and increase the lights inside and it will be good :)
Have added some windowsills under most windows:

Not only the BATs are stunning, their number is almost unbelievable too. Players will have a problem choosing one!
Can't wait to see them released!
Here is one of the first lot of the power plants:

I've wanted this kind of lot (coal plant + integrated unloading dock) since 1999! This rocks!
Cheers,
Willy
Did these power plants ever go live? Not finding them in the LEX....
Hi,
I'm sorry, but I feel the need to echo jessilaurn here. Are these going to be released? I'm mostly interested in the smaller ones.
Regards
As vester said in a previous post when asked this question... "I am a batter and not a lotter."
So I guess he will forever keep them on him hard drive until a lotter comes along to take up the daunting task of making lots out of those bats ;)
That look amazing! If they get released, they'd look great for some of my cities!
