Hi!
I'd like to start a mayor journal here. I am currently doing one on Simtropolis, and it will be more detailed than the one that appears here. Click here to access the Simtropolis one! (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=36&threadid=86257&STARTPAGE=1)!
Here is the region of Longmeadow!

great work, be safe
:D :D :D :D sorry, couldn't resist that one...A nice presentation and a good use of Flash.
That . . . traffic cam . . . it's hypnotic. Being a major roadgeek, that's just plain awesome. And being an animated .gif, it didn't take too long to load either--had to have been a lot of frames. Very, very nice. I also really liked the parking lot you have there by the stadiums--quite realistic. Look forward to seeing more.
-Alex (Tarkus)
Wow, very realistic work you have there. Great job with the parking by the stadium, such a thing is often left out. That traffic cam is awesome too!
callagrafx - Haha, thanks!
Tarkus - Wow, thanks a lot for the comment! I'm glad you like the traffic cam! ;D I think its only about 50 frames.
Travis - Thanks, I'm glad you like the cam and the stadium area!
Here's some more!

Nice update Mike, but where are all the planes? Also, what software are you using to capture the animation?
Heh! It's easy to see your "commute" shot as the bottom of a hamster wheel- that's what mine feels like anyway.
A nice start, Mike. Thanks for sharing your work with us- I'm sure there's good things to come.
Good Luck!
David
Hello, Mike! A great start to your showcase here. I love your residential areas and parks, and the "traffic cam" shots are brilliant! I'll be following along here as you go! Keep up the great work!
Fantastic pictures, Mike! Great animations. One question: Where do you made these animations?
I love the animations, Great update. Love the region view and your city sprawl is fantastic.
Robin
The overview is awesome---a good mix of diagonal and straight grid, and lots and lots of trees! I love the traffic cams (especially the second one)! The only thing I don't like so much is the repetition of the Maxis skyscrapers, but that's very hard to avoid, so keep this up!!
callagrafx - I guess the airport was closed. :P I'm using SC4 to capture the animations, with the recorder tool.
dedgren - Thanks alot for your kind comment! :) Hope to see you back here soon!
thundercrack83 - Thanks!! Glad to see you here! I'm also glad you like this showcase!
bat - Thanks!! :) I use the recorder tool in SC4, and then use Macromedia Flash MX Pro and it sequences the images that the recorder tool takes. It's quite easy, but it depends on which software you have in order to do it.
rooker1 - Thanks!! Glad you like the animations and the sprawl!
cityhawk - Great to see you around! :) I love the trees as well, it helps in the sprawling process too. I know about the repeition too and how annoying it is!! Thanks for your comment! ;D
Here is some pictures of Greenvale, the large town north of Narivo. The population is around 35,000. Greenvale has a big shopping center, located off the Greenvale Parkway (which is the highway that goes left to right in the wide out shot of the mall neighborhood.)

Great start , this is developing nicely and some great pic's. Don't like the traffic shots though, reminds me too much of the trip to work :'((only kidding).
Looking good and waiting for more.
Cheers
Dave
Whew! Looks like the rain is falling pretty hard there! I love the newspaper and the pictures where the camera has been "smudged" by the rain. I'm definitely enjoying your showcase here. Keep up the good work, my friend!
Thanks for all the comments.
Rain has been so bad in Longmeadow that both the Longmeadow Sound and Atlantic Ocean have crested!

Wow, very nice photoshopping with the floods!! Looks so realistic! Great job!
Nice work with the pic's. Look's like it's going to take the Downtown a while to dry out.
Cheers
Dave
Cityhawk - it's not photoshopping, it's actually in game. :D
Wow, those flooded areas look great. And I just saw where you said that it's in-game. I wonder how you did that? However, it looks absolutely fantastic. Another great update, Mike!
Very nice made
There are still people who tan on the flooded beach :D
Wonderful update! Great work!
Finally, an update!!
Harwood is a wealthier community within Greenvale. It is also the home of Hickory Oak, a country club on the border of Narivo and Forest Counties.
Amenities include:
- 18 hole golf course
- Outdoor pool
- Tennis courts
- Outdoor bar
- Three luxurious party rooms
- Arcade with Billiards and indoor bar
- Driving range
The country club is cherished by all those wealthy people that live in Longmeadow. On weekends, rich businessmen living in Narivo escape the noise of the city and take advantage of the quiet, bird-chirping suburbs to play a round of golf. The country club is only 35 - 40 minutes north of Narivo!

THE PARADE OF HOMES
Narivo County hosts an annual parade of homes, in which a home in the county is honored for being the best home. Each nominated house has different reasons as to why they should win the Parade of Homes, and the winner is awarded $50,000! There are three nominees this year, one home (or community of homes) is located in Harwood, and the other two are located in the city of Narivo.
After the nominations are presented, it is up to YOU to vote for the best!

Aspenwall Beach, Ponderosa
Aspenwall Beach is a stunning piece of beach directly in Downtown Ponderosa. Just off the coast, plans for building a lighthouse are being conversed. Aspenwall Beach is Longmeadow's most northern public beach (so far) and it offers peacefulness and quiet within a semi-urban setting. Residents of Ponderosa enjoy sitting under any of those tall aspen trees hugging the boardwalk. The beach is equipped with snack shacks, and even a restaurant.
I still hate you for Banning me at ST but Your city is nice check out mine ;)

I still hate you for Banning me at ST but Your city is nice check out mine ;)
NASCAR_Guy: I'm not an administrator or a moderator, but I just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'm sure this post has broken a few rules here at SC4D.
Great new pictures, Mikeaut1!
If NASCAR_Guy IS Heyden, I'm sure he'll be banned again, because Derek_pearce was his first username here. This time, I'm not sure though. I was certain with his other username.
Anyway, excellent city, Mike. Though it isn't fair that the Bushwick won here at SC4D, after the votes were clearly laid out. &sly

Hey, it's my pleasure to leave the comment that bumps Mike's really fine showcase up to the Ones to Watch category.
Actually, this has been a "one to watch" for quite a while. Thanks, Mike, for sharing your work with us. I'll set my 5 stars on top of the rest you've piled up.
David
p.s. - As an aside, I don't doubt that NASCAR_Guy is in fact NASCAR_Guy for a minute. I think we've about played out that whole bit. I will remark, though, on the reference to actions at other SC4 sites- while this one was pretty innocuous, they're just not ever necessary. The well-deserved praise NASCAR_Guy gave didn't benefit a bit from the rest of the comment. 'Nuff said? -DE
it's always good with a little paranoia though. :D

Mike that was a great update... the universty and stats got my attention... so are you gonna use RMIP airport or maxis air? cant wait to see what you develop here - pat
Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone!!!
patfirefghtr - It's Maxis Air. :P I think the smaller Maxis airports are nice, but many people seem to not think so. I'll see how you guys like this...

Land was cleared to make way for the new airport. Hundreds of acres were cut down in order to build this airport. The cloverleaf connecting Ponderosa Parkway and University Avenue replaced the small T ramp.

As construction wrapped up and the airport was almost ready to be used, an industrial park was built, and this is the area where cargo is checked by Customs before it is loaded on the planes for takeoff. This industrial park also manufactures and fixes plane parts.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm48%2FMikeaut1%2FPonderosa-Nov.6131184634000.jpg&hash=9e4cf2f663a51d53d47518577966a79749fc91c9)
Also notice the new ramp on Tamarack Boulevard, connecting the airport neighborhood.
Commerce has been booming since this airport was built. One noticeable change is seen just south of Ponderosa Parkway in Stillwater!!

The Quilcene Airport looks great, Mikeaut1! I'm usually not a fan of the game airports, but you've managed to spice it up with the parking lots and everything and it looks fantastic! And I love the animated traffic shots at the end. Great work, my friend!

If you are looking for a retreat from the valley, Jacky's Kabin is the place for you. With a sports center, rentable cabins, and plenty of hiking areas, Jacky's Kabin is located very high up in the mountains near Tamarack, Forest County. The altitude is so high where the Kabin is located that the temperature drops 20-25º. Just hundreds of feet higher on the mountain, a nice layer of snow is found.
Jacky's Kabin offers rentable cabins. The main cabin in the resort complex has some lodging as well. There are fireplaces and billiard rooms within the main lodge. Hot chocolate, stew, cider, and other pioneer recipies are available in the lodge, at a low cost.
There is a sports center on the complex as well, with soccer, tennis, baseball, and football. Horseshoes and bocce is also very popular in the resort.

thundercrack83 Thanks for the comment!
dedgren Thanks as well!
patfirefghtr Thank you!
bat Thanks!!
Welcome to page 5!
Some very great new pictures, Mikeaut1! Wonderful work!
nice detail, something to aspire to.
Nice placement of buildings in those pics, Mike. The care and attention to creating a realistic big city-scape really shows up.
David
Love the skyline, my friend. Fantastic use of custom content! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for all the comments on Fairland!
If you haven't noticed on Simtropolis, I've been having problems with plugins and stuff for my next region, so this region is taking a tad longer to create! Sorry for the wait, update soon!
Hope everything is going well for you and your plugin folder, my friend! I'll be waiting patiently!
Looking forward to the new update!
Here is a picture from the new region: Coram/Medford Metro Area!

Here is a little update of how downtown Coram looks so far. I played with the brightness and contrast on these pictures, so hopefully you like them!

Here is a little subway stat. As you've probably noticed, the amount of cars on the roadway seems smaller than normal. That's because commuters would rather use the subway. All my subway stations have high usage, I think my highest is just a little over 10,000.

Comments are appreciated, and thanked! :)
Nice update. I tried to look for a repeatitive building and couldn't find one. Great work. The city looks very crowded and well laid out. I see you have used four large square, right? I like smaller maps because I know there is an end in sight. I get bored too easily and trash my cities to start again. I love your choice of custom content. I'll be back to watch this for sure.
Robin
Great new region! Also nice looking pictures of it!
Mike i really liked that update!!! lots of biiiiiiiiig buildings in Coram &apls
Whoa- with Alek missing in action, you are usurping the mantle of the Concrete Canyon King. Excellent looking big cityscape- the showcase is full of treats these days!
David
The new metropolitan area looks excellent, my friend! I love all the skyscrapers! Great work, I'll be looking forward to seeing your next update!
Thanks for all the comments!!
rooker1 - Yes they are four large squares. I think it makes the region more intimate and fun to play with. Most of my regions are small ones. :) Thanks for the nice comment!!
bat - Thanks!
patfirefghtr - Yes there are. :) Thanks!
dedgren - Thanks!! Glad you're enjoying it, David!
thundercrack83 - Thanks!
MEDFORD -- A SISTER CITY!
Here is Medford!!
Coram's sister city, Medford, is really seeing some growth. Rapid growth. Medford is home to a busy and expansive port area, that takes up a lot of the Chipnall Bay. With industry thriving, skyscrapers appear. Medford is connected to Coram by two tunnels, ferries, and one bridge (in the lower bay).

Located on the banks of the Chipnall Bay, SimNation Cruises™ port is a major hub where tourists catch cruise ships to go tour tropical islands or vast seas. The two major ships that come through there are the Nina Caliente and the Dina Caliente. They have weekly schedules at many different ports around SimNation.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm48%2FMikeaut1%2FCoram-Medford-Jul.4111188217744.jpg&hash=18f3c81eca16f98ab7bc383f225de24353d4fd94)
THE NINA CALIENTE
Length: 882 feet
Cabins: 3,432
Decks: 8
Amenities: Two ondeck pools, tennis courts, running track, 3 dining halls, 2 dance halls, onboard casino, stadium seating lounge.
The Nina Caliente is a sistership of the Dina. It is the little sister, being 9 feet shorter than the Dina. The Nina Caliente is the more affordable of the two, and the ship often sees an average age group of 21-23. The cruise ship is popular among college students during spring break as well. One of the Nina's best assets is the food. On the ship's survey, 94% of the visitors thought the food was "above average".

THE DINA CALIENTE
Length: 891 feet
Cabins: 3,210
Decks: 9
Amenities: Three ondeck pools, tennis courts, running track, 2 dining halls, 2 dance halls, onboard casino, stadium seating lounge.
The Dina Caliente is the more spacious and luxurious of the two ships. With more space and less rooms, cabins are wider and more spacious than on the Nina. The Dina Caliente has an average guest age of 30-35. The ship also has many honeymooners onboard. The greatest asset of the ships is its service, design, and architecture. The lobby is well designed, very elaborate. The food is quite scrumptious as well!

Here is the port right when you get off the boat. There are two circular administration buildings with one taller building that handles the administrative side of the port.
Here is one of Medford's most prominent landmarks, Lady of the Port. This 23 story landmark soars over the Chipnall Bay and welcomes tourists and visitors into Port Medford. By night, the lady watches over the port.

Welcome back, Mikeaut1! The cruise ships look fantastic, I love all the details you provided about them, too. And the Lady of the Port is beautiful, too! Glad to see another update here, I'll be looking forward to future ones!
Wonderful new picture of that port, Mikeaut1! (and congrats on more than 100 comments) (forgot to congrats you for that)
Great pictures. I have always wanted to use the Somy dock, but I have never found the right opportunity. You ahve found a perfect spot and it looks fantastic.

hey that looks pretty nice :)
My favorite part about the update was the tidbit facts you presented us...those are, in my opinion, the perfect companion for your great pics.
thundercrack83 - Thank you!! Glad you like the Lady of the Port!
bat - Thanks!! I'm glad this MD has been successful!
rooker1 - Thanks, it is a great BAT. I reccommend it for a port of that size. (Port Medford is a pretty big area!)
Madeira - Thanks!
nedalezz - Thank you! I'm glad you like the tidbits of information, and that someone actually reads them. :P
Port Medford
Thank you all for your patience, had some RLS returning back to school and officially closing the summer. Here is the FINAL UPDATE of CORAM/MEDFORD METRO AREA. I will move on to another region I'm showcasing next update. (By the way I have a habit for making regions and then only playing one city in them. ) But I would like to try and prevent that for this next region.
Anyway, here is PORT MEDFORD.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm48%2FMikeaut1%2FCoram-Medford-Jul.3111189355731.jpg&hash=7116fb64d1451c55fb1e61c11e9bcda0f7c2a533)
Port Medford is located on the Medford side of the Chipnall Bay. The neighborhood of Port Medford is not a recommended travel destination, because most of the crime in the two cities is located in this neighborhood. But this neighborhood is one of the most important areas of the twin cities. Port Medford is the headquarters for the Coram-Medford Industrial Authority, and where all the seaports and freight train stations are located.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm48%2FMikeaut1%2FCoram-Medford-Jul.8111189355763.jpg&hash=e59eabb85b3b7e3e87dfb87b6417c34add22e35f)
Cargo is imported and exported from these seaport areas daily. Industrial headquarters have made use of the port's proximity to do their business.

Chipnall Marine Institute and Aquarium
Chipnall Marine Institute and Aquarium is a university aimed directly at marine biology and maritime studies. The institute is also a public aquarium, where there are dolphin and seal shows regularly. Chipnall Marine Institute protrudes into the water space where the Chipnall Bay and Atlantic Ocean meet, right near the Chipnall Tunnel.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi101.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm48%2FMikeaut1%2FCoram-Medford-Jul.jpg&hash=c8194127e46af49b1e62f7e360d9d8b71711df8b)

The institute focuses on preserving marine life and studying the behavior of the animals that live there. On the institute's south side, there is a small marina where boats are docked. Students are only allowed on these boats and are driven out into the Atlantic or into the estuaries of Chipnall Bay to study the marine life there. It is a very interesting university with a small enrollment and many maritime programs.
Above is the Western Ring, one of two rings where the public are allowed to view seminars and shows. This was taken during the early afternoon 2:00pm Dolphin Show at the institute.
Well I hope you enjoyed Coram-Medford!
THE REPUBLIC OF WOODHALE IS NEXT TO SHOWCASE!
A fantastic looking port there! Wonderful pictures!

History
Woodhale was captured by the SimEnglish in 1711, but thousands upon thousands of SimItalians fled to the small little country in search of work and better living conditions. With mountains to the north and seashore to the east, the area was favorable for the many immigrants passing through its borders. Today, Woodhale has developed into a prosperous small republic, with tourism and manufacturing the top economies. The population remains highly Italian. Woodhale is also a peaceful nation as well, going only through one war, with Jargeah. But now, the there is peace between the two.
Geography
Woodhale's geography is very important to its growth. To the north, there are the meandering Fairfax and Elroy Rivers. The main river that flows through the north and out to sea is The River Ai. The north is also characterized by heavily forested mountains and small valleys. Within these small valleys, there are little towns that base their income off agriculture; mainly the growth of orchards, apple, orange, and pomegranite trees. Woodhale's central region is very flat, with many lakes, including Lake Afrago, Lake Hathaway, and Dolan Lake. The south is very flat as well, but a small mountain chain picks up right along the Acola River. The seashore is prestigious along Woodhale. The northern beaches are pristine, forested with West Cedars. Towards the middle and south, Sills, Seavenseas, and Chestnut Bays are backbays along the outer banks.
Everett is Woodhale's largest and most important city. The downtown business district is quite large, packed with highrises which house corporations and large businesses. Everett sits in Woodhale's flattest region, between the western border and the ocean, 30 minutes to the east.

Heritage Square
Heritage Square is the central point of Everett. Here, Hathaway Blvd, Carmen Ave, Osborn Ave, and Everett Ave, which are major thoroughfares, meet at one roundabout. The center of the roundabout is the major subway station in the city (all subway lines meet in this one location) and the main hub for the bus stop. The Heritage Square area is known for its great shops, restaurants, and proximity to the major downtown highrises and the little Theatre District.

Incredible update, here, my friend! The graphics and map are amazing, and the city looks great, too! I love the downtown, especially. I do have a question, though: Where can I find that roundabout bus and subway station?
Fantastic new update, Mikeaut1! Great work on that city! Also wonderful looking downtown, the map is looking very nice, too!
Outstanding work on the last update. Where did you get that center piece for the avenue round about? It looks awesome. I really like the city setup. The core is very visible and it works it way out to lower residential. Over all look is perfect.
