Title: NAM and the old Tunnel mods
Post by: Coldgob on October 29, 2011, 06:28:34 AM
Good morning all.   Ijust had a couple of questions about new updates.
First; With the new NAM, should i still be using the old Road, Ave, Hwy tunnel modds?  Does it help, or does it even matter any more ?
Second;  With all of the newer tree modds,  is there anyway( or modd) to eliminate Maxis trees altogether?
I have found modds to eliminate Parks, Rewards, almost everything else, but haven't seen one for trees.

Thank you all for the incredible work, you folks do!

1- yes, I think you should still be able to use the old modds on the default transit types, whether you do or don't is entirely up to you

2- Actually there is a modd on the STEX (its down right now, otherwise I would link it to you) it was created by marsh. just do a search of his name, and it will probably come up- if not, PM me. In addition, you can still use one of the others modds that change the god mode trees.

hope that helps- good luck ;)

Thank you Sky Guy, for the reply. Yes, i am keeping the tunnel modds, i use them often.

2)  I found the Tree modd, i think you were talking about, it replaces Maxis trees with others.  What i am looking for is a modd that just removes Maxis trees from the game.
Here is my main problem;  I use CPT's  terrain, tree controllers, and his trees, for a Pacific Northwest region that i am working on.  The problem is that in God mode, laying down trees, i get a mix of (CPT pines, cedars-with Maxis trees), and for me it just doesn't look right.  So i usually have to spend days destroying Maxis trees.  Which then leaves me with big holes in my forests, for which i have to replace in Mayor mode.
Which brings me to my real problem;  I am not good, AT ALL, at making areas look realistic. So when i exit out and look at the whole region, it looks like my 4 yr old grandson did it !  So i go back Level down 3, then level back up, to remove the trees, and start all over!  Was hoping there was an easy way.

     Thank you
