Title: Building life expectancy
Post by: Architect_1077 on January 03, 2012, 01:24:31 PM
Hi.

I have a couple of noob questions:

1. How do you edit the life expectancy of a building? Out of the several programs I have, only LEProp displays this property and it won't let me change it. Keeps falling back to the same value. Strange, since it does allow me to edit everything else...

2. What the heck is RKT0 and RKT4??  %confuso

Can't help you with your first question ... its not something I've ever worried about, as to your second

Life Expectancy seems to be short for the property Age Degradation Rate, and applies to power plants and water pumps.  LEProp doesn't seem able to make this property, but if you open up a power plant or water pump you will find this property editable.

The description for Age Degradation Rate is:  "How fast this building's condition decays over time.  The 'life expectancy' of the plant in months can be calculated roughly as the reciprocal of this number.  Thus, a plant with a 50-year lifespan will have a base decay rate of 1.0/(50*12) and 0.00333 = 25 years."

In Reader, you have to enter the decimal. LEProp allows you to just enter the amount of years you want.

Thanks for the help guys!

I edited the lot in iLive's Reader. Problem solved!
LEProp doesn't seem to be able to edit that property for some reason. Doesn't matter tbh.
