This is my first MD so first some (short) background before picture time :)
New world is a big project, and has by now around 14 cities that cooperates. New World is recognized by it´s wonderful nature and a great friendship between all the cities. But, sometimes it get rough which can tear friendships apart and it´s often generated by the big demands in the region. The builders need to build many thousands of new companies, industrials and homes at week to keep the demands down.
Other main problems in the region is the transportation system. Some of the cities have an agreement that over 50 % of the transportations should be by done by rails in many shapes. Other cities have an agreement that stand against the rail systems, and they are deeply concerned how people can commit their life to this type of communication, even though their cities would probably fall apart without this communication too.
Well here are some basic facts about the region:
Inhabitants: 1,8 million sims (not much, but they are a fast growing population)
Largest city: New Town Of The New World (NTOTNW) 700,000 inhabitants
Second largest city: Riverglades (RG) 370,000 inhabitants
Longest river: The river of New World
Highest peak: Oak hills (1000 metres above sea)
Regular breakfest: Sim panncakes with a Maxis sandwich
14 cities
The region is very mixed. Well, thats my opinion. Maybe you have other thoughts about it :)
And here we have som images from some of the cities in the region. Hope you like it ;)

Well, there you have some pictures. I will update with new pictures from other cities soon. Be prepared ;)
Right from the start I had the idea of a region with both cities and untouched nature. Every sim who lives in a town in New world needs fresh air and places where they can relax and enjoy their wonderful lives.
So, I have tried very hard to keep woods and fields within every city in New World, but it´s really hard to let it be in areas with high demands, which is very common throughout the region.
Here´s some more pictures of the cities:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg853.imageshack.us%2Fimg853%2F7706%2Flivington30jul161327872.jpg&hash=874726bc0783d4a91e812eb1bd3b1bff0c3395b6)

Very nice pictures so far, Great job! I especially like the low rise sections of your cities.
I agree with you on that ideal for mixing cities and regions; I like doing that with my regions too. It can definitely get hard as time goes on. I try to avoid developing the most heavily forested areas, and "sacrificing" the less thickly wooded section for development. You seem to be doing quite well in keeping nature in your cities.
I agree, nice work so far  I'm not a huge fan of big populations or lots of skyscrapers but the green spaces and medium density areas look really nice!

Thank you! Yeah the low rise sections is the type of building i spend most time of. I don´t really like skyscrape towns anymore. The two real skyscrape towns in the region are also the two cities that were built first (NTOTNW and Riverglades) and then my only focus was to get started with the region, so those two are not such good as the other cities. I try as hard as i can to keep nature and i can say that Livington has not the greatest nature because it´s a pretty big city (125.000 inhabitants and even more workplaces).

Thank you :) No I also got bored by skyscrapers in every corner, but i can´t and won´t destroy the biggest cities in the region (yet we´ll see in future) because they have such a great impact on keeping the demands down and creating workplaces for all the "sleeping towns" around them :)
Grodville is the home of low rise and middle rise buildings. It has more like a London/New york style with a highway that tears the city into two pieces, one side with almost industrial, and regular workplaces and homes at the other side:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg513.imageshack.us%2Fimg513%2F4007%2Fgrodville22apr121327599.jpg&hash=dea147fdd0cf742a0cb9a19f8b0be42e153c8756)

And then we have Featherwille with it´s nature combined with agriculture. The real city of Featherwille is along the coastline and the nature and agriculture is at the hills and inland:

Really nice, especially the farming areas i like!
One little critic: To avoid the maxis palms i would use the no palms mod.
But everything else is well done, keep it on,

Thank you for your comment, I really like the farming ares too. They are a good contrast against the cities.
Oh is there a mod that can make my game palm free? This sounds to good to be true :) I will look it up at the LEX immediately. Thanks for the tip
The first three pictures have great atmosphere. &apls More like this. I like this suburban area.
And then we have Riverglades, the second largest city in New wolrd with still a rising population. Riverglades is a holy place for those who are fascinated by travel with all types of transportation system. Subway systems, commuter rails, trams, ferries, highways, buses well the city has everything, from small houses to the tallest skyscrapers. Some call it the main city of New world, because NTOTNW has much problems with for example crimes, transportations and the economy. Riverglades is far more a better city to live in than NTOTNW:

Nice pics  I'd recommend you to get a slope mod though :)
Some more beautiful low density shots, and I really love the look of those road and rail viaducts!
Also a lot of Vu Blue Denims too (the blueish Commercial mid-highrise). I would recommend looking for some Stage 7 CO$$$ and Cs$$$ to counteract them. ;)
Having the trees encroach on the fields like that is a really interesting idea. I usually try to avoid having trees on my fields, but this looks much more natural.
You need a slope mod and also another sidewalk mod

Both can be good in its own right. The choice depends in fact on the kind of landscape you try to make. Every country, climate and type of underground has its effects on the way that fields, trees and other items of the landscape interact. Making a realistic landscape makes in neccessary to look closely at the way the real landscape is made.
These trees around the fields give a very "cosy" look to the field, which gives most of us a kind of home feeling. The views are beautifully made with a good choice of trees and the variation of the several tree types. I guess Girafe and CP, right?
Very good city views too!

I suppose i can fix more low density pictures ;) Well , the blue midrise/highrise is the memory of when it was almost maxis stuff. I am going to destroy them eventually (when i get time to do that, there are hundreds of them in the region) and look after buildings that looks better in the eye ;)

Any sidewalk mod you can recommend? As i wrote earlier the slope mod is fixed but it´s going to take a while to fix all roads ;)

Yes, i have four tree types actually. Girafe, CP, maxis trees (I don´t ues them by now but you can see some maxisforests in older cities) and italian trees (I don´t use them and i don´t know why i downloaded them).
Most of the newer cities only have CP and girafe trees. My vision is that all the maxisforests should be erased.
Here we have more pictures from my region. If someone have tips of finding a better sidewalk (im pretty tired of these) mod than this i would be very happy :) Or maybe I should go back to maxis sidewalks :P
Well here are more pictures, more suburbs than before:
And I will also release some pictures from a new city later today when it is done ;)

Uh oh, no comment? That's a pity, I really like your latest pictures. One exception is the one with the many one way roads. That looks a bit strange. And you should get a slope mod.
But everything else is really good.

Yes my thread seems to die. Well i have done some things and i´ve also downloaded a slope mod but many things whitout a slope mod will remain cause it´s very hilly. My idea is to find a slope mod which is more adapted to a hilly landscape since my older towns are pretty hilly ;)
One way roads was just a test and it´s a funny thing to look at but thats my opinion :p Im going to update with some new pics soon...
Waiting Your new pictures ...

Don't give up yet. ;) Comments seem to be slow in the whole MD section during the past weeks.
Have you tried the SFBT Slope Mod (http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/download.php?file=293)
I like to play in hilly terrain, too. And I use a very strict slope mod. But sometimes, when it does not work out at all I cheat and use the SFBT one. It straightens out the worst slopes but is not too strict. ;)
Well the story continues with more pics! These pics comes from towns with barely no hills at all. I need to work with the slope mods a bit more until im going to reveal it :)

Here´s one more with plenty of one way roads, my solution for the traffic and to prevent to much destruction. But my idea is to someday have a much smother and nice looking system for the area.
