Title: Bleeding Graphics
Post by: samoyed1958 on February 25, 2012, 11:44:53 AM
Have recently gotten a better computer..
OS Name Windows 7 home premium and have all updates
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 MHz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Pro...
RAM 8 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
My  problem with running SC4 is when I am building the city it sometimes (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg59.imageshack.us%2Fimg59%2F6691%2Ftwinroadsjul24051330017.png&hash=2dfdaad4eaeea02cc711be75e3140d08602daccd)
starts to bleed ( see inclosed picture)
Any help in this would be great, have also right clicked on the SC4 icon and added this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1200x32 -w -CPUCount:1
ok after spending hours reading some of the forums here I went and changed the 1200 in the custom resolution to 1920x1080 and so far no more glitches, but only played a short time, so we shall see. Guess I answered my own question............

as for the opener, I had the same problem until I created a custom profile for the game in the nvidia control panel and did the following:
QuoteAnisotopic Filtering: Off
All Antialiasing Options: Off
Maximum pre-rendered frames: 0 (Leaving this at the suggested 3 caused me issues)
Multi-dispay/Mixed GPU acceleration: Single Display Performance mode (I have dual monitors so forcing this to singe helped)
Texture Filtering - Anisotropic: Off
Texture Filtering - Negative LOD Bias: Clamp (This setting was also causing issues)
Texture Filtering - Quality: High Quality
Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimization: On
Threaded Optimization: On
Triple Buffering: Off (This was an absolute requirement to have off)
Veritcal Sync: Force Off (This was also an absolute requirement to have turned off)

as for the other post, some system information would nice to know to see what might be the problem

Since you are from The Netherlands, could you PM me in Dutch as I have trouble understanding your English? (nothing personal, it's just not very clear)

I had this same problem trying to run in 3D accelerated mode using a GeForce GTS-250.  Switched to software mode and the problem has resolved.  I'm thinking that the Nvidia graphics cards and SC4 don't get along so well....at least in hardware mode.

I had similar problems (
Quote(alt+ctrl+del >>>> processes shows the simcity.exe running) but game wont start
), and this was fixed by changing the way DirectX worked on my computer.  Had to run "dxdiag" from the command line and change DirectDraw/Acceleration settings in the Display tab.  My computer is "stupid" (NVidia nForce2 with an ATI graphics card), so this fix was probably just me.

~I can't disable the network adapter on this thing.  I pray it never needs a re-install.  Hopefully when SC5 comes out I'll just buy a new one~

I've always had Nvidia cards (FX-5200, 7600GS, 9700M GT and 560Ti) and none of them ever gave me any issues in hardware mode.

Might have been a firmware issue...I can certainly give it another try in hardware mode and see if it still gives me problems.  Firmware was updated less than a week ago, so I know it is a newer version.

After making it home for lunch, I reloaded SC4 in hardware mode and it seems to be working perfectly.  It was quite possibly a firmware issue after all.
