Hi,
Not sure this is the proper place to post but I was wondering if someone has experience with installing two versions of 3dsmax. I want to keep 3dsmax-9 for creating my buildings, but I'd also like to experiment with the student version and simfox's bat4max to experiment with HD props. Installing two versions of 3dsmax is not a problem. But I didn't succeed in installing two versions of gmax+BAT and/or the bat4max scripts.
Any suggestions ;D

Installing two different version of 3ds max should not be a problem, you should be able to use BAT4Max on both version, I have more than one Max on my PC and I have BAT 4 Max install on both of them, all you need to install Gmax and SC4 Bat, then 3ds maxs both version and BAT4 Max. :D
Idem I have installed 2012 2011 2010 in the same machine, and no problem.
If you install max 2012 have a look at the 3dsmax thread on simtro, you need to install the last patch of max 12 which allows BAT4max from SF to work properly (patch available according to the language of your version on 3dsmax website).
PS: think max 2013 will be launched soon, someone has new about it and its new features
Gmax is only installed one time at root C:\Gmax
Install bat4max in 2 different versions of max is not a problem as the installation is made during the launch of 3dsmax with .mzp
Hi guys,
Thx for your answers, but I guess I should have been more specfic in my question.
Indeed installing different versions of 3dsmax is ot a problem, and it also works fine if I isntall bat4max5 on both of them. But the real issue is how to install both bat4max-5 (simfox version) AND bat4max-3 (chris adams version)
I have found a way of keeping two gamepacks folders in the gmax folder and renaming them depending on which version i use. But i was hoping for a less cumbersome alternative.
