CAM is another planet with SC4 - You must read and read about it. Try Your minds !
CAM - is a very pure and hard tool for all ..

It's not too bad.

I would guess you can't see the download link because you aren't signed into the LEX.  This is an account in addition to your account here.  You can register there by following this link: LINK (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/).

After installing CAM, you will want to follow these instructions for it to really be installed: LINK (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=13556.msg390848#msg390848).  Otherwise you will grow double the amount of jobs than your city has sims for (and if your city already exists, you will have serious abandoning).  Also, don't use CAM pathfinding, use NAM instead.

It is recommend to start a new region for economic reasons, but you don't have to (and who knows, maybe you would like a little jar to the economy :) 0.

What next? Nothing!  Being a long time SC4 player the main thing you are going to notice is that your cities don't upgrade as fast (go into the next density stage).  CAM has spread these stages out, as well as add many more.  An otherwise vanilla game will run just fine, but since CAM has added definition to the game, all Maxis is going to leave a lot of holes.

I don't know how much you know about the way SC4 works, my general advise would be to add custom content slowly.  People download the CAM starter packs and think they need to use every single one of them.  I would say that if you get tired of a Maxis building, figure out what stage it is and install the packs for that stage (or perhaps just 3 or 4 buildings of that stage).

This is MY opinion, so take it so as is.

If I were you, I just leave my hands off Cam. Nothing special there, but it freaked my game to a point that nothing was compatible and worked properly anymore.
What I did is I downloaded the CAM buildings, extracted the modelfiles and made new lotfiles which grow as stage 5. Simple and effective and no "broubrabra" mess in the game and trying for weeks to figure out what's wrong with it.

Remember, that is my opinion (and experience with CAM). I guess the Mod just didn't fit into my game.
