Hi, I'm trying to make a lot (a windmill), but instead of building in land I wanna build over the water, the problem is that I used as base the origianl windmill and when I build the lot, al the props and the windmill itself are under the water. What can I do to make them appear just over the water?
Sorry to announce you this, but there's no way to keep the props floating. Only buildings can float (stay above water) and only one building is allowed to a lot......so......that's it, no props on floating lots, unless......they are all one building, made in gmax or 3dMax.

Yes, it is true ... And You can see this thread "Making Lots that Float on Water" here

Good Luck ...
Maybe you can show a picture of what you want to achieve or how the result looks now.
Maybe you can try to do something different like make a small island for your windmill lot?
Well... if I can't do it directly I should use my imagination... after that I found the solution:
1. Design the lot to be in water and in land, but with a "rare" design
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg215.imageshack.us%2Fimg215%2F8977%2Flandwater.gif&hash=52937322afcc0b6572de211bef9107647304aa7f)
2. Create the lot and put all the props in the land areas
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg338.imageshack.us%2Fimg338%2F255%2Fnuevaciudad12feb0013377.png&hash=67408aca472e65386f69c31f72bd1a621e7b86d5)
And that's all... not as elegant as I expected but it work. Thanks for all your help.
Hmmmm, very interesting work around.
Is it possible to make the LOT smaller.....say 3x4? or even 3x3?

The problem is that if the water and land areas are closer you'll never can build it, they need to be at this distance or it doesn't work. Sorry, I tried but this is the minimun possible lot with a land area of 2x1.
Somehow I think I am missing something. In order to place the lot you need a 2x1 area to be land, right? So you made a small island. If I understand this correct, then you can just plop a 2x1 lot on this island. Or not?
Yeah, you are right... I just wanted to for to put it in water don't having the chaco of put it in land... you can do the same with the original windmill... call me posh but 'cause I couldn't do it directly as I tried at fist... ::)
You can do this with a 1x1 also. Done it before.
