Before I get into the first city I will go back to when Everett County was founded.
Everett County established in 1763 was first a colonized area by the Europeans. The first town was Wilfred, later renamed Emerald Port, because of a large emerald mine found deep under the city. Emerald port was built on the Wilfred bay, and is now Everett County's capital city. Now we look at the large modern city, 249 years later.

The CBD is built on a waterfront where the office workers get a view of the cargo vessels coming in, and going out of the harbor.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg835.imageshack.us%2Fimg835%2F6223%2Femeraldportoct301413382.png&hash=75ebf8f0e9a61b393857fb11be201b74deb9cae2)
The city is also the business hub for the county. Here we see two of the many hotels in the city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg833.imageshack.us%2Fimg833%2F1971%2Femeraldportsep101413382.png&hash=c5900ad95f87cb060d99a86a93f708a79a291788)
In the industrial district of the city there are two power plants that help power the region.

The city also produces goods that are shipped all over the world. Here we see a small River Haven train going down the Emerald Line.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg692.imageshack.us%2Fimg692%2F5674%2Femeraldportaug250113380.png&hash=0de5a2877fa6004b7e0903dd130851ef1f0c52c2)
The railway runs to the rural areas. Here we see a large CN line train going across the Plinn River.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg406.imageshack.us%2Fimg406%2F7134%2Fgingerfieldmay290513382.png&hash=df18f9c29e75d39dc98c0ce0593db96c09505110)
That's all for now. I hope you liked it!
Well, well! This looks promising! I like the rail crossing in the last picture. I never thought to use the NAM elevated pieces in a rural setting; I always go the hard way of making a land bridge. :D I'll have to try that out sometime! Also I'm loving the skyscraper district.
Can't wait to see more!

@Alafel- Thank you. I'm glad to have inspired you!
Update 2 - The Emerald Railway.
The Emerald Railway built in 1867 to trade with nearby cities at a faster rate is one of the largest railroads in the nation. The railway carries up to 900,000 tons of freight a year. Companies that use the line are Everett County's own River Haven Rail, CSX, Canadian Northern, BNSF, and Norfolk Southern. Here are a few snapshots of the railway in action.
This small bridge can also be seen in the last update, but this time holding a different train.

Great start. I love the trains.
But please remember to turn the gird ogg (press g on the keyboard) before taking pictures. ;)
Nice start and welcome to SC4D &apls The rural and rail pictures are particularly nice

@RickD- Thank you, and sorry I always forget to turn the grid off.
@noahclem-Thank you very much.

Update 3- The city of Andrea.
Andrea built in 1784, was the most modern city in Everett County. Having over 700,000 citizens, Andrea is the third largest city in the county. Andrea is one of the only modern cities in Everett County, and is the ending point of the Emerald Railway Line.
Here we see the CBD of Andrea.

The suspense is killing me too!
I love the mix of rural, urban, and suburban in your region. It seems very diverse!
I have one request though. Would it be possible to use .jpg images instead, or at least to compress your .png images with PNGOUT? Loading all these large images nearly throttled my lousy connection! ()sad()

Hi
kinderlyWelcome to the site and nice start to your MD &apls
If I can remind you of this rule
QuoteAll images will be hosted by an offsite hosting service or other server. Authors are requested to consider that not every reader has broadband Internet access, and should seek, consistent with maintaining reasonable image quality, to minimize the size in kilobytes of images accordingly. Please note that, while not a rule, we do make a strong recommendation that the max width of any image be 800 pixels, as well as being in the .JPG format. Use wider images and other picture formats (.PNG, .GIF, etc.) when necessary, albeit sparingly, since in most instances making a pic bigger does not make it better.
in the SC4D Mayors' Diary Section Rules http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=5195.0
as
yunxiang says it makes it difficult to open a MD that is all PNG files and it doesn't do the site bandwidth costs any good either, I would appreciate you replacing as many of them as you can with .JPG pictures.
much appreciated

@yunxiang- Sorry about that
@catty- Thank you! I am already using Jpegs.
Harrington, a large industrial city, is built 5 miles from the capital of Emerald Port. Connected by railways and a small highway. Harrington however is built along a large river and has two sides. We will start with the dirty industry and suburban areas.
Coming into the city you don't see much of a modern area, and many factories look abandoned
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-May26121338751975.jpg&hash=c6dd9e1d22fdd28998ffec2702b60524e7bf3836)
Most of the citizens live in terrible conditions, but the mayor doesn't get many complaints.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-Jun3121338751997.jpg&hash=083e0d18336a61a1c2a0f6f4713672db0e8e179e)
The army controls the west side of the river. The mayor can't do anything about it because the city needs the income from the army base, otherwise... ... DEBT!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-Oct25121338752778.jpg&hash=288767f06ed76278ef2af4396ce2b377169da387)
Of course, its not complete control the citizens are free to leave the west side as long as they don't move out.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-Oct7121338752386.jpg&hash=df2c857b4ec052e794c528fe2abb22e9a78e5c2d)
But don't judge a book by its cover, as we see here there are some modern structures.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-Oct7121338752205.jpg&hash=30551f5ecf40fc757cf9fa6e79947e3760040edf)
Across the river though there are better living conditions. Here we see the eco-friendly Telco Stadium!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq558%2Fshockwave36%2FNewCity-Oct7121338752646.jpg&hash=600c5e55917706f9ef77c166a3fca45b9b1e912f)
