Hello,
I have a question about Lot TGIs.
What I have noticed lately while I have been creating lots, is I get a different Group ID. Now, I know that the Type is always the same but, now I am wondering if the Group ID is tied to the different RCI types and wealths or is this allowed to be any random number? If this can be any number is there any special numbering system used by creators so that their lots exemplars do not conflict with others or is it just a free for all?
BTW I have posted this over at ST aswell.... but decided to post here aswell since last time I got a great response over here.
Thanks in advance.
Hi jp,
as far as I know, both Group ID's (lot exemplar and building exemplar) are generated when you create the lot in the LE. I think there is some sort of algorithm that calculates this number, like for the BAT models. I dont think you have to worry much about these groups since they dont have any RCI effect like you mention.
I hope this helps
Hey Jeronij,
Thanks for the reply. I had sent a PM off to Karybdis, since noone had answered my question. He came back with almost the exact same answer as you and gave me a link,

The link is to a wiki on the way the Group IDs are determined. There is no relationship to the occupancy type or wealths, even though the same wealth types saved (for me atleast) with the same values. It seems to me as though it shouldnt matter if you make your own Group ID for your own lots and they should still work the same. I havent tested that theory though.

I am glad to know that my intuition did not fail ;D
