Update 1.00
Replies:
Kergelen: Why thank you, and yeah there are a lot more than in 2009. Frankly, I'm glad I'm starting over. It's difficult going back through all the cities and trying to MMP all of the areas I left blank. It's even more difficult when desert cities still are not catered for. I had fun, but it's time to move on.
I'll be starting a bit of a mini series on this MD as well, what song I listen to while I play/update. :P Why not?
Today's Song (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&ved=0CFcQtwIwBA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DNzb-VmUCaxM&ei=O9hJUdmIDIaQ9QTprYHIDg&usg=AFQjCNGzQb2r6g5m0Hfh1TvHiETE2r8Uvg&sig2=_alA6jBNrC1QS5y0ZyOdkg&bvm=bv.44011176,d.eWU)
Now moving onto said update with a little bit of backstory.
The year is 2016, a new president has recently been elected after 44th President Barack H. Obama ended his last term in office. The new president, was sworn in a day late due to bad weather in Washington DC. It then becomes apparent that the 45th (that's what we'll call him) was actually not born in the United States, and that he was operating on fake papers. He is then incarcerated. The Vice President comes into power but is then usurped on March 3rd by military coup. In succession, the coup was not completely successful. Many people suspect treason on multiple counts, not just one. Many people were even fine with having a non-'Murican president.
In succession, many states convened in secrecy over the course of the next 4 months. In total, 12 states, which include New York, Texas, Florida, the island of Oahu in Hawaii (due to complications from other islands), New Mexico, California, Arizona, Georgia, Montana, Minnesota, Nevada, and Louisiana secede from the United States of America and form their subsequent own Governments cooperative with the other states. However, the 12 states do not form one large nation, rather 12 independent Sovereign States with a pact to protect one another. This is the Story of the Sovereign State of Hawaii and it's regional conflict with the other islands of Greater Hawaii.
That's where I am at thus far. Nothing else will be said on the matter, but as this MD progresses, more will be unveiled.
There are several ways to reach Honolulu in Waikiki. The primary is by aeroplane, Oahu is dotted by small air strips and fields such as this.

Some larger airlines cater to Honolulu international, just across the island. The small strips are serviced by island hopper jets and the occasional cross-pacific flight. But most of the private aircraft do not leave the Hawaiian island chain, apart from the occassional private jet.

Other ways, rather long ones, are by personal watercraft. Though usually this type of thing is reserved for millionaires with private oceangoing yachts. However there is a service which transports your smaller craft across the oceans, for a fee of course.

Other, less legal, ways to reach the islands are via cargo ships, such as this. Many illegal immigrants reach Oahu by this way, some are however refugees from the other islands in the chain, which are allowed to stay as long as they have proper paperwork with them to prove who they are.

Tourists can stay at a number of hotels right on the beach in Waikiki. From large ones such as the former seen in the preview.

Many people can stay here on the beaches, it's one of the main economies here on the island, though tourism has fallen down in wave of the United States collapse. Most the year round residents stay in usual homes. Many of Hawaii has a low build policy, limiting the number of tall buildings in areas.

Many residents live in comfort, with decent traffic and pollution in the cities, and little to none in the countryside, which we'll see more of later.

Most homes that you will find here are two story single family homes.

However rural the islands are, they still have all the comforts of the real world.

And what is this?

A rail line? Where could that lead to?
Stay tuned...
