Post by: earthwalk on May 31, 2013, 11:44:39 PM
I'v built a fairly big city - population 250K plus - but growth is stagnant! Income braket dropped? polution low - industry is almost only high-tech. Traffic way in the green - commute time is generaly short - so is everything els exept Environment. How do I elivate demand for high income R n C? Traffic noise is high in all my buildings - sims cant hear themself think, so In trying to reduce use of cars, i ploped bus stops evry 3 blocks or so - onely thing is Sims dont use them!!!??? Use on mass transit is minimal to non existant??? How do I get sims to use the mass transit system instead of their cars?

Please HELP!

I notice that you have the NAM installed. There are then two things I would recommend to help your situation, and one is just a double-check.

First, do you have the CAM installed? If so, make sure that the z_CAM folder is empty or removed, as it contains a traffic simulator that is far outdated compared to the current NAM iteration and will interfere with it operating properly.

Second, you should have the TCST installed (Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool), as it will allow you to adjust things like road capacity as well as mass transit usage preferences by the various wealth-level sims. You can specify preferences according to speed, travel time, and wealth level. I've mine set to relatively high usage, since I like to try and make my MT systems less of a money pit.

You can get the TCST with a standard NAM installation (so you should already have it), and it's really useful, esp. considering what it can do for your playing experience. Just make sure to read the readme.
