Title: Nam June 2007 Help
Post by: jlouhill on July 01, 2007, 06:18:24 PM
I just downloaded the new NAM and I followed the instructions but nothing new is showing up in the game. I uninstalled the previous NAM first then installed the new one in the plugins folder but nothing is working. I'm sure I missed something simple. Let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks, John

Nevermind. I did miss something small. However I don't see any new bridges. Something else small I may be missing again? ()what()

Thanks, John

The new bridges are now available as separate downloads. Just search for "NAM Team" via the power search, and you should find all available NAM plugins.

Thanks Andreas. I will go search for them now. I will let you know if I have any trouble finding them.

Hi Andreas, I downloaded the new bridges and installed them. However, they are not showing up in the game. I placed them in my plugins folder with the NAM.

Thanks in advance for your help, John

One other thing you need is the NAM essentials so you can use the bridges. Least thats all i can think of you might be missing

It should even work without the current NAM Essentials, since there's also a bridge controller included in the NAM (you have to install the additional bridges plugin, though). Which bridges did you download? Some of them, esp. the highway bridges, need a rather large body of water that has to be crossed until they show up in the bridge selection dialogue. Also, the new bridges are only for selected networks; some are only for streets, roads or railways.

I downloaded the following:
Akashi
Metal arch and pylon rail
Millau
Old Road
Rural street and rail.

I will go back and try over a larger body of water.

Thanks, John

OK they're showing up now however I noticed one bridge had gaps in it. It was one of the arch bridges.

It does - and if new custom bridges are released, you have to install the most current version that is contained in the essentials. But obviously, the NAM also has a bridge controller file, i. e. for making the oneway bridges possible (those are using in-game models, so we didn't have to separate them from the NAM download).

I re-checked everything today and so far all bridges are working fine. Must've just been a glitch in the game last night causing the gaps in a bridge. Thanks Phoenix and Andreas for all your help. I will let you know if there are anymore questions.

Thanks, John

OK.  I've got a problem.   I installed the network Modification and started a new region.   However, now my commercial zones won't grow.  Well, they grow, but then they quickly go vacant.   The demand meter falls negative.   Residential and Industrial are growing wildly, but commercial is dragging.

Has anyone else had this problem?

any other mods installed and what road are you running them up against?
