I'm just another "newbie" rediscovering the game after a decade away.
The custom content available here is killer, it's all really awesome, as are many of the region maps others have made.
The problem is, that the perfect map for my needs doesn't seem to exist. I'm wanting to develop a region based on a proper scale map of the Vancouver region. While drunkapple/dobdriver has created a beauty of a smaller map, my wife's dream is of a similar map, but doubled in width, encompassing an area all the way up to Harrison Lake. Essentially it would stretch across not only the width of the previously mentioned Vancouver map, but also across drunkapple/dobdriver's Chilliwack region too.
Is anyone still taking map requests of that sort of large scale region?
I'm not sure if anyone is taking map requests, but I believe it's possible to make a map from USGS (or equivalent) heightmap data.
Dobdriver used to take request but he hasn't been active for over a year. However he made an excellent tutorial how to create a region from DEM data which you can find here (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=15646.msg452182#msg452182).
