Title: Changing EP1 Maxis lots to Landmarks?
Post by: dirtguru on January 25, 2015, 12:23:32 PM
Can someone recommend a tutorial on how to extract and copy a lot from a Dat file in order to create a static landmark.
I have found quite a few residential lots that I would like to use in my cities.

May be worth taking a look at these plugins

Interesting. The link you provided does contain separate Dat files for all Maxis content. What I am trying to do is use PIMX and the Reader to create static landmarks [ploplots] for a few residential buildings. I'm sure you know that this is easy to do with custom content. My problem with the Maxis content is that I can create a plopable building with PIMX but I am finding it very hard to find the correct lot exemplars [using the reader] in the EP1 dat files due to the way they are set up. In other words how do you identify what lot is what in the Maxis Dat files?

The only list I put together of the SC4 In-Game buildings is this one

http://www.city-builders.info/cb-discuss/simcity-4-in-game-buildings

Did a google search and this one might help (see the code field).

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6a9VBMkrBndMThhNTM0Y2ItNzFiMy00YTJlLTg0NzgtYWQ2MTUxZTYwMTQ0/edit?pli=1&hl=en_US

its quite big at 4.5mb as it also has pictures of each building included.
