I thought I'd open this thread for the time being so that it would force me to tend to the matter of LEing :)
I have recently showcased some of my modifications of LOTs in the LE (available here -> Click! (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2126.0)) and at the suggestion of Barby I have decided to make them available for community scrutiny and constructive criticism. :)
I asked Barby to CAMify a few of O'Neil's Condos for me, i.e. the modding for CAM and then I would re-lot them accordingly. The list, including some others too, are as follows:
- CO$$11 World Financial Centre 2, by XDesign Team -> (STEX (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&Keyword=xdesign%5Fteam&view=all))
- CO$$$11 World Financial Centre 3, by XDesign Team
- CS$$$5 Centre for New Industries and Technology (CNIT), by BLaM -> (STEX (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=18183))
- R$11 Flatbush Residence, by O'Neil -> (STEX (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&Keyword=Oneil&view=all))
- R$14 Dakota Park
- R$15 Astoria Place
- R$$10 Angel's Creek
- R$$15 Bosworth Heights
- R$$$8 The Riviera
- R$$$9 Atlantic Plaza
- R$$$ 9 The Blue Tower
I can only show you two of these lots thus far, and only LE shots at the moment as I have not yet CAMed enough to be able to grow them. :(
I would be grateful if some of our seasoned CAMers would be willing to test them. :)

I hope to have the others available for scrutiny as soon as possible, but I have recently acquired new responsibilities as the SCJU President as well and that demands my full attention. :) Also I am looking at CAMing some more and be able to present a new CJ in the not so distant future. :)
Thank you in advance for constructive criticism, and thanks to Barby for the Modding of the LOTs and O'Neil et al for the great BATs! :)
Also please let me know if you'd be willing to test these LOTs :)
* Apart from the dependencies listed the original SC4Model files are also required.
R$$$9 Blue Tower
I like the placement of the building itself. The layout of the lot is pretty good. The only major issues I am seeing is there is no defined entrance to the lot and there is nothing to differentiate sidewalk from road surface. I understand that the road surface is designed to be for a high wealth lot. The texture is fine, but there needs to be something to differentiate where a pedstrian is to walk into the building and where the car is to drive. The way you can do this is by either redoing the base textures to have the sidewalks as a different texture or add some props to line the pedestrian walk and prevent cars from travelling there. Also, the size of the "parking" is a little large and bare. if you were to use some planter props and maybe some more trees you could break up this "void" at the same time as giving a well defined pedestrian walkway along the side of the parking lot.
R$$ Angel's Creek
Again, very well done. The only thing on this one I have a problem with the Parking lot should match. You have asphalt parking spaces but a paver stone road way.
Good work... Keep it up.
BTW, I know you're KRAM. And I havent forgotten, but I am still constructive.
Your lots look really good! If you need a CAM tester, I'd be more than happy to try them out. I've been growing lots of stage 9, 10, and 11 R$$ and R$$$ lately.
Cheers,
Kevin
Nice! I love Oneil's stuff so it's great to see them modded for CAM
@ jplumbleyThank you for your feedback, I really appreciate your constructive criticism and have taken heed of your words. The end result displayed at the bottom. I have taken into consideration much of what you have said, and I trust that the result would be, if not ideal, at least more satisfactory.

The image below would explain why I did not use trees on the area described:

Other than that I have tried to implement the rest of what you have said and really appreciate your feedback! It helped a lot, I think!

@ Kevin Thanks! :) If you could PM me your e-mail address or something I could send you the lots. I do not want to attach them here and run the risk of everyone downloading them and possibly having problems, the entire fiasco ending up in me being sued for all I'm worth. :P I would appreciate it if you'd test it, and I thank you for the offer. :)
@ toxicpiano Thank you! I also do love O'Neil's stuff, therefore my request to Barby to CAMify them. :)

That's all for now then. I'll get to LOTing the other files as soon as possible. :)
Great Job. I have found that the NDEX buildings were great, yet the lots left something to be desired. Detail and patience I guess were in short supply.
Now they are having a coming of age, with a CAM and a detailed lot. They way they were always supposed to be.
Overall, the trees work really well. The parking textures are a little iffy, but are way better than the stock ones. I'd be happy with that overall. It seems you have put some time and thought into it.
Keep up the great work, capn!
Check your PM box for anything related to the past with NHP. I'll be flipping you one shortly. Take care!

The parking textures on the Blue Tower can be revised, I think there is an alternative (without the white line down the side at the transition of the two). Unfortunately I don't know of / cannot find a better alternative to the current parking solution on the Angel's Creek Building.
While you mention the trees, I would like to know if anyone / most people object to seasonal trees? I think they not only look great, but ads to the realism of the lot, but there are of course those of us with objections to them. I'll be more than willing to replace them with evergreen versions. :)
Also, thanks for the PM re: NHP. I have responded.

-M- These are begining to be awesome. The Blue Tower is very good lot wise now, that sidewalk is now very well defined. As for the issue you ran into with the trees, I have that issue aswell when I am using large buildings such as this for my personal lotting. It is something that you get a hang of working with, with more experience.
I have nothing "bad" to say about the last building. It is very good. The sidewalk is well defined, the split parking is a good idea. Flora is well laid out and you noticed the store fronts and "protected" their entrances.
Good work.
-M- this is mmmmm tastic great stuff im seeing here and i cant wait to see you have your upload rights - pat
Thanks for the feedback guys! It's truly appreciated! ;D
I have the WFC 2 today, and seeing there are too many $$$ CAM lots at the moment, Barby modded it to be a CO$$ I had to work with the lower value and accompanying 'style'. I am not normally a huge fan of, or a particularly good, $$ LOTer, but I gave this a try regardless. :) I didn't want to make the WFC 2 & 3 look exactly the same, but I also didn't want them to differ too much! So, I hope you like the result. If not, well, you know what to do! :D

Hello Barby,
I havent had a chance to look at the actual modding of the LOTs by M4346 but as far as LOTing wise I think they are asthetically ready for LEX upload. He seems to have listened and taken into account the points I made about his LOTs and he seems to have learned from it because his next LOT was very good for its purpose. He is showing that he takes care and actually thinks about the functionality of a LOT and takes these different functionalities and applies them to the layout.
Thank you Pat, Bat and JP for your comments. :)
JP, Barby modded the LOTs to be CAMpatible and that's the only modding it has undergone. I have not, myself, tampered with, or altered it, in any way.
I still have about 7 of the 11 LOTs to re-lot, having finished the Blue Tower, WFC 2 & 3 and Angel's Creek.
I think I can send the WFCs to Barby for distribution and testing, and then if she'd be so kind as to pack them for the LEX (if it is deemed fit). Then that can be released as a package (the 2 WFCs). I think O'Neil's Condos can be released in a separate package, and in yet another separate package BLaM's CNIT of La Defense. Anyway, those are just suggestions.
I can zip up the WFCs and send them to if you so wish. :) I'll type out a simple text readme with the links to the dependencies and the stats if you wish. :)
Thanks for the support, encouragement and contribution to the overall process, it is really appreciated. &ops
So, Barby, JP, let me know what you think. :)

I'll type out a simple text readme with the links to the dependencies and the stats if you wish. :)
M, use SC4Tool's Analyser/Importer for making the Readme:
1. Take a day shot and a night shot of your lot in-game. Edit them so that they are 250 pixels wide.
2. Make sure you have all your dependencies in your Plugins folder or subfolders.
3. Open your lot in Analyser/Importer.
4. Click on the name of your lot in the left hand pane.
5. Check the Dependency tag. There should be no red crosses in there.
6. Enter the Description (your description of the lot).
7. Enter yourself as an Author under Common Information.
8. Insert your two images with the image button (far left).
9. Click Export to HTML (template), the third button from the left.
10. Select an appropriate template (readme_bsc_template_growable.htm).
11. Give the file a name including "Readme" and the name of the building.
Make sure you note where on your hard disk you're saving it.
An image folder will be created there as well.
The html file you created with the image directory is now ready.
You might want to take a look at it and check that everything is OK.
Especially the "Credits Section" and "Feedback and Support" will need some postediting. ;)
Thanks RippleJet! I did what you said, and with a bit of trial and error I could manage.
I e-mailed the LOTs and the Readme to Barby (I didn't know what else to do :P) So we'll see what happens from here on :)
Thanks for your help! ;D
Thanks, M, they have arrived. I'll check them over and post them to the LEX if everything is ok. I do know the modding is right  ;D
No problem, and thank you! :P
And yeah, I think the last thing we should worry about at this point in time is the modding. :D
Posted to the LEX in the Admin name.
OMG! :o LOL!
Thanks! ;D
I feel so special now :P
Thanks for all the help Barby, RippleJet and JPlumbley!

Thank you Pat, RippleJet (I feel even more special now :P) and Serkanner! ;D
I realised that I have been neglecting you and the LE, and was kindly reminded of the LOTs and the LOTting last night by Barby - talk about no pressure! $%Grinno$%
Despite my RL obligations and responsibilities, out of sheer guilt, I opened the LE last night and LOTted the Astoria Place. ;D
I also base and overlay textured the remaining LOTs (with the Blue Tower and Angel's Creek being done, I think).
So, I'll try to get them finished as soon as possible... but not this weekend and definitely not next week. ()sad()
Here are in-game previews of Astoria Place and the other lots with the base and overlay textures. Let me know what you think, please, so that I can improve on it. ;D

Most excellent work M &apls &apls
I have just reread the thread and it shows that you have taken the constructive criticism to hand very well indeed.
You can definitely see where the advice has been applied and that then shows in your later efforts as there has been little or no criticism and the work you have done is superb.
It seems to me that you have a knack for this sort of work and if you keep this level up - well I think there will be many happy people DL'ing your work :D :D
And your reward from me (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg152.imageshack.us%2Fimg152%2F2651%2Fkaffe06ut5.gif&hash=b712f75428e987c8f6b0e93298c7ff4cbdaf43f8)

VERY good -M-!
BTW, congradulations on your invitation to NHP, we are glad to have you as a team member. For someone of your talent we are lucky to have you. Keep up the great work, Im sure Hablem and Dmscopio will get you busy enough soon, hehe.
Thanks for the comments Derry and JP. I'm going to have to keep personal replies sweet, and short, due to a mass of work still to be done within the next half an hour. :)
I must, however, say thank you to the NHP for accepting me among their ranks and for making my stay and membership pleasant. I look forward to being a valuable member of the NHP and of the community, as they all have been and continue to be. ;D
So, let me get to it then. As mentioned elsewhere (yes, I'm quoting myself because I am lazy :P):
After some critique by JMeyers about the LOTs for the Moscow Red I have altered them and they look as follows:
R$$ Stage 13
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FLot_Editor%2FMoscow-Red-Revised.jpg&hash=9b0169d8a31c3e5d339bda041a525de7a18b0344)

And I've also revised and updated the LOTs for Frogface's taller BATs and have brought them up to standard using the X-Tool. So, in no particular order, here they are:
Commercial Offices
I have tried to maintain some form of uniformity between these Medium Wealth Commercial Offices, in this case, using the standard Maxis Medium Wealth texture. I have also tried to, where possible, use 2x3 LOTs (except for St. Helen's).

Originally Kommunist Tenements, but I felt that it doesn't do it any justice and is a huge generalisation, so I renamed the LOT.
The name is based on a combination of Sunnyside and Arcadia - suburbs in central Pretoria city - that have the same sort of apartment buildings.
NOTE: If you don't see cars and people on the LOTs, it's because they were MIA at the time the shots. :P They are there, but they appear to be camera shy. :P
I will post the complete stats for these LOTs a bit later, after I've finished the README and sent them off for testing and peer-review. ;)
Great job M ^__^ The lots look really great :P And i like the new name for the (Now named) Sancardia Towers!
And why not in public too, Congrats on becoming a member of NHP, im sure you'll fit right in and have a blast ^__^
These new lots look great M! I wouldn't mind if you re-lot all Tonks' mid-rises $%Grinno$%

I agree on that one! And they are all available in megapacks on the LEX.
Are all of the BATs that Tonks made available on the LEX? Or rather, all the older ones? ()what()
Yes
Thanks Barby! I'll get to that then a.s.a.p. I still need to send the Frogface files over too... &ops

CS$$ Stage 5
I think that the Pride-flag is overkill in that size. Maybe smaller or no flag? And no, I don't have anything against homosexuals but the flag dosen't fit there.
I think that's the smallest that they made it... unless someone (i.e. Heblem or Xiziz :P) is willing to BAT a smaller version? ;D
I'll speak to him, but yes, I agree with you although it is all I had to work with. &mmm
Thanks! I'll speak to the above-mentioned people! ;D
The London Wall looks very good! Those pots match the colour of the wall. ;)
I hope Babylon's building exemplar has Occupant Group (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2378.0) 0x1908 (Building: Night Club) which would spawn sims and cars around it at night.
And I hope the people lining up for Babylon are timed props, appearing only at night...
And I hope you've got a ticket for me to pass that line... ::)

I agree with Tage.... but JP has a good job!
Either way, these are working very, very well. You are a machine, Marius...
HA.. you guys would love my day on Friday. But, if I say anything about it my department at the City may be given an audit for hours of wasted well spent time. ::)
Now, if only I could see those pictures I would be able to post on topic in this thread. %confuso

Much better than the original... the one in Paris...
you should go to Paris and tell them how to display the Notre Dame in its full grandeur!
Thank you! ;D It just needs a statue of Charlemagne and then its ready to go! But it is really a stunning model by Debussyman!
In other news, the full images are now available. Sorry for the inconvenience! ;D
Hey M.
I like your work in this thread. nice lots
naturally I adore the Babylon club. finally my gay Stroponians can go clubbing in style. for they had nowhere to go before ()sad()
And I ook forward to the lot revisions of the cathedrals. Will they replace the original lots or not?
Good luck my friend,
Strechnitz.
Stechnitz, I am pretty sure M's versions of the cathedrals will be an addition and not a replacement ... If he dares I will change it back :P
I really love what you have done with the Notre Dame. Having it seen in Paris I have to agree with Ripplejet that you should go there and tell them to change their "lot" to yours. The present this awesome model by Debussyman in a way we can really enjoy it in full scale.
Thank you Strechnitz and Serkanner!
As far as I know the revised Cathedral LOTs will not replace the originals as they are on new LOTs and use new .desc files. ;D
I trust that the Babylon night club and associated Pride Flags will be available soon for Stroponian homosexuals to enjoy! Pending scrutinisation, of course. $%Grinno$%

The 1 Andis Plaza does not have a customised LOT LOD, and accordingly it is incredibly difficult to place props around the building or on the BATted base. ()sad() Instead it has just been made a CAMeLOT with a custom Base Texture. :P
Wow I love the NdP LOT !!
When do these CAM lots become available??
I am not the one to ask, unfortunately, as I've made them available for testing and scrutineering, and upon the completion of those processes and if they are greenlighted, then and only then will they be uploaded to the LEX. :)
I trust that it will be soon. ;D
LOTs already sent off for testing:
- NDEX ONeil CAMeLOTs
- Frogface Revisited LOTs
- NHP 6U Babylon Nightclub Revisited and XIZ Pride Flag Parks
- SimFox Moscow Red Revisited CAMeLOTs
LOTs that still need to be packaged and sent off for testing:
LOTs that still need to be LOTted, packaged and sent off for testing (in the future):
- NHP DBSSYMN Cathedrals for BSC Parks
- NHP NDEX ITS CAMeLOTs
- NHP NDEX DA CAMeLOTs
- NHP PDA CAMeLOTs
- NHP HD CAMeLOTs
I am doing what I can on my side at a pace that is comfortable and suitable to me and my schedule, which, as mentioned elsewhere, is pretty rough at the moment considering the fact that the final exams are approaching. But, rest assured that I am doing all that is within my sphere of influence. ;D
Thanks for the interest, and I hope that everything will be available a.s.a.p.
Those parks next to the Lighthouse the 3x3 ones, are those downloadable???
:D You've been playing the game with custom content for too long Bixel. $%Grinno$% Those are in fact the original Maxis 3x3 Plazas. :P ;D
The only difference is that I use CP's Palm to Lodgepole mod. ;) -> Click! (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=645)
An update will be underway within the next hour or so! ;D
Okay boys and girls... beware, this is a pic heavy, or rather, a heavy pic, update. :P
By that I mean that the images are bigger than the normal 800 x 600 (they're 600 x 800+), something that was necessary in order to present the fullness of the beauty and awesomeness of the models on display today. :P $%Grinno$%

The template for the Readme has an error regarding this property.
Those values are not the max. fire stage, they are the

The Max. Fire Stage is in the range 1...5, and isn't included in the template at all.
No problem Tage! ;D

The St. Thomas Church – A Place of Faith, Spirit and Music
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thomaskirche.org%2Fneu%2Feng%2Fimages%2Fintroduction%2Fintro_kirche.jpg&hash=3d5b839d2440d277b8576433323a87cab13fadae)
There are many important churches in the world. However, the St. Thomas Church is special - a place of unique spiritual heritage and musical creativity.
For almost 800 years, the church has been housing the famous St. Thomas Boys Choir. In the St. Thomas Church, Martin Luther lectured, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played the organ, and Richard Wagner was baptized. Without a doubt, however, it was the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach that influenced the atmosphere and reputation of the St. Thomas Church most thoroughly.
Nevertheless, it is not only the music that attracts visitors from all over the world. The church also offers fascinating, centuries-old architecture.
The St. Thomas Church was included as the one and only German building in the World Monuments Fund between 1999 and 2001. In short, this church is an important piece of European cultural heritage, which is worthy of being preserved.
From: St. Thomas Church Website (http://www.thomaskirche.org/neu/eng/introduction/introduction.htm)
Saint Thomas Church (Leipzig)
HistoryThere has been a church at the current site of the Thomaskirche since the 12th century. After several reconstructions (remains of an earlier Romanesque church were found during archaeological excavations), the current building, an example of Gothic architecture, was consecrated on 10 April 1496 by the Bishop of Merseburg. The reformer Martin Luther preached here in 1539. Today, it is a Lutheran church.
The tower was first built in 1537 and reconstructed in 1702, leading to its current height of 68 m. The roof above the vaulted ceiling is one of the steepest in Germany, with a roof pitch of 63 degrees.
After the destruction of the Leipzig Johanneskirche in World War II, the remains of Johann Sebastian Bach were moved from there to the Thomaskirche in 1950. The current altar, installed in 1993, is the former Gothic altar of the Paulinerkirche, the university church of the University of Leipzig, destroyed in 1968 by the Communist authorities.

Thank you so much for this absolute beauty Debussyman! &apls &apls
Hello M,
I didn't know you do such interesting things!
The Thomaskirche is beautiful by itself, but your modification is an excellent idea!
I think if any BAT is unique and should be plopped at specially prepared place (for example church, castle, but also many civic buildings), the best thing it's creator can do is to make the lot "open", to enable adding something - park pieces, alleys, trees etc. and customize the surrounding , but keeping it consistent. I hope my English skills are enough to be clear ;)
I must look at all your thread, it is worth of it!
-M- you are a true great lotter my friend.... and a well informed lotter at that, basing off of a realizm....  &apls &apls
M,

Cheers,

Now, before I hit the books and study for my International Law test tomorrow, I want to show you the updated and revised base and overlay textures for the
NHP LBT Plaza Mall. The version I am lotting is a 15 x 20 CS$$5 growable with more or less 8 000 jobs.
I hate functional ploppable buildings, they are just not for me, and therefore I decided to create this growable (which is still a work in progress). I want to thank Heblem for this amazing Mall while I'm at it, it is really gorgeous!
Click on each image for an enlarged (1000 x 800 px +) image. And please let me know what you think of the general layout. ;D Cars, CP's Semiseasonal Oak Trees, people and other props that enhance the aesthetic appeal and realism of the LOT will be added next. ;D

Growable CS$$ Subway, by M4346
Originally created by daddyo117272 over at Simtropolis, I've remodded and relotted Subway to be a CS$$ growable.
We got our first Subway in Hatfield, the suburb I live in in Pretoria, South Africa, this year and was surprised to find this 'fast food' joint lacking in SimNation. I was incredibly happy to see it released and just had to make it functional.
Please ensure that you have the necessary files (use the included Cleanitol ™ file for a less stressful endeavour) and enjoy!
Attached below. ;)
M excellent work as usual &apls
Great lot, M. I, too, I had thought about the lack of Subway not too long ago.
So Subway is a new thing in Pretoria? Its the most common restaurant in the United States, you find them in many gas stations. Its because they only require standard electricity (120v 60hz is the standard here) and doesn't have a fryer.
Cheers,
Kevin
Thank you Heblem!
Kevin, Subway opened its first branch in South Africa in 1997 and currently has only 9 restaurants here, of which two are in Pretoria (That I know of. :P) The one here (in my suburb) is in the Hatfield Square (where all the bars and drinking places are :P) which is just up the road from here.
More info: Subway SA (http://world.subway.com/Countries/frmMainPage.aspx?CC=SAF)
I've loved it since my first introduction to it! ;D I don't think it's that popular in South Africa because of it's 'self-help' nature. I mean, yes, they make it for you, but you have to pick what you want every step of the way. We South Africans are not used to that. We just want a set menu with a good old Beef Burger, etc. from Wimpy (http://www.wimpy.co.za/), MacDonalds or Steers (http://www.steers.co.za/index_land.php). :D
Thank you for stopping by and for the extra info!

M, very nice work on the Subway. I just saw that BAT the other day and rather liked it, so I'm really glad to see a fellow NHPer make such a nice lot for it. Looking at your other lots here, it seems to me you really have this lotting thing down.
-Alex (Tarkus)
You are simply an EXCELLENT LOTer &apls
so did you want to do Sceneway Garden as well? If not I will try to finish it meself.
I had a look at the LOTs and saw that it was indeed a daunting task. I will therefore, unfortunately, not be able to do it within the next few days and have accordingly decided not to attempt it at all. I'm sorry, but I have a few projects that need to be finished before the end of next week - the HKSAS Primary School included - as my final exams start the week after that.
Hey, as far as Sceneway Garden goes, don't worry about it, I am going to see if my fans at the Simtropolis site want to tackle it, besides I completely had to redo all the LOTs since they were not growing, I finally got it to work.

I'm glad to see you active again and look forward to future lots :)
Oh, yay!
That's great news, a CAMmed version of the SFBT Plattenbau... I look forward to seeing it on the LEX soon.
-M- that is looking great and i cant wait to get ahold of the cam versions
M those lots looks great!! excellent work...

The lots you have here are purdy good!
I think il have to replace my set of uncamified buildings with these :P
Now all that is needed is that you camify a bunch of the SFBT w2w, like the Hamburg Set, Some of Odd's buildings and pfc Nbay's w2w sets, which i use very much ^__^.
Awell, keep up the awsome work here comrade :P
Nice job on the SFBT prefabs. Those are really looking awesome, M. I particularly like how you added those trees on there--very nice touch.

I have recently discovered and, I hope, mastered the art of creating Installers and am in the process of revising my earlier creations. It may take some time though. &mmm
Anyway, I just finished and sent off Bixel's HKSAS Primary School -> Click! (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=1556.msg74027#msg74027) for more info. Here are some pics for those of you who are interested. I will be posting them in his thread too. :)

I've also made a custom icon for it:

What do you think? ;D
Just a note on the flag: I've used the PEG OFMN Mod and therefore the flag of your choice will show up. I have just used the Chinese flag as an example. ;)
Anyway, the exams are upon me - my final exams - so, if you'll excuse me for 17 days. :P
EDIT: I forgot to show you the TE part and that it does work with the UDI. ;)

That lot looks great M, now to figure out how to make my flag replace the PEG one :P
Love that park out front, looks really neato, perfect place to park a
BUT, Installers? please save me the trouble, your gonna have to send em over msn to me, zipped XD
Custom Icon looks great btw
Thank you Xiziz. ;D
I'll quickly tell you on MSN how to make any prop replace the Peg OFMN mod... so you better be there. :P
M, excellent work in those lots school
Thank you Heblem! ;D
Seeing as I couldn't get a hold of Xiziz, I've decided to post a quick guide for how to make OFMN compatible flag props.
No images or screenshots, as I really need to study. It also assumes that you know how to use the iLive Reader.
1. Make a copy of the desired flag prop (the BSC flags by Geoffhaw comes to mind) and add something such as OFMN to the end.
2. Open the file in the reader and chane the Instance ID (IID) of the exemplar file for the prop to 073d4582.
3. Save, close and test. :)
I think that is about it... that's what I've been doing anyway - without any problems. ;D
That's a very interesting looking school. nice lot you have given it.
Strech.
-M- im sooooooooooo Droooling here wow....  If i could give you a karma point right now i would in a heart beat... It would be for "taking pride in what you do" god bless it -M- i just cant get over the beauty of this lot...
WHOOOOOAAAAA!!! Thats awesome!! You did a really good job there, I cant wait to get it to the HK people. They are going to lov it. However they might be a little sore about the Mainland China flag being there, I know HK in part of China now but that might be a little too blunt for them. $%Grinno$%
Thank you very much, monsieur Pat!
Bixel, firstly, thanks for your comment and compliment! It was really a pleasure LOTting that beast, and beauty. ;)
Secondly, I merely chose the flag of the People's Republic, but with the Mod I used (listed as a dependency) you can choose any other available flag. So, every user has the ability / freedom to choose his / her own desired flag.
Sorry to double post, but I just created an OFMN compatible prop for the Hong Kong Flag by Geoffhaw that is in the BSC Flag Pack 2 (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=428).
If you use any other OFMN flag and would prefer that one, do not download the file attached below. It is only for those of you who want to use the Hong Kong flag on LOTs that use the OFMN prop, and you will need the dependency listed above to avoid a brown box.
Cool!! If you are uploading this please find the reference site to the school for a proper write up in the readme, if possible include the HK flag, I do not know how the mod works, perhaps its needs separate lots?
I believe it has been a while since I last posted here... So, here goes!

Also, here is a little something I did earlier today:
LGBT Memorial Park and Roundabout
The name is not permanent and I'm open for suggestions, but it includes a 2x2 avenue roundabout filler and a 3x3 BSC Park Compliant Park. ;D
I used Ardecila's Peristyle model for this.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FLGBT-Memorial-Parks.jpg&hash=b0baad8abd845b71795dd0dd7782fd9bf7fa61f4)

As the name implies (and the in-game description tells), the LOTs are memorials dedicated to the men and women who have lost their lives, friends and families, livelihoods or have suffered in any other way in the struggle for equality and the against discrimination past, present and future on the grounds of their sexual orientation and through exercising their inalienable right to choose their own lifestyles.
I'll cook up a fancy story later. :P
I like the BSC Park Compliant version!
The arrangement of plants used in the roundabout filler could have been "rounder"... ::)
Merci Monsieur! ;D
I will look into it, I think there are suitable props in D66 Prop Pack Vol10 ;) I'll keep you posted. ;D
very nice  very nice indeed.
Though the people standing in the *milemiddle of the roundabout look very outta place. It just seems a bit over the top for a decoration in a roundabout. Whilst I love the park and its something I could use, the filler would seems to be the wrong place to put a memorial to lost ones. (thats my opinion only by the way :D )
As for the building well that a very nice piece of work &apls &apls
and I like the day/night shot too very well done

M thank you so very much for the stats on Heywood Inn.... The new roundabouts and memorial parks are fab.... I do agree about the folks in the Roundabout do look abit outta place IMHO... I'm soo sorry M i should have at the end of my last post " if you don't mind me asking ".... I just reread it, man i feel like an dope lol.... M you are doing a great job on your stuff, I can soo see you as the next lotting god....
  &apls &apls
Excellent lots, Marius. I really like the LGBT Memorial Park, I have many friends who fight the prestigious on a daily basis.
Cheers,
Kevin
Thank you for your comments and feedback everyone! Especially to you, Derry, for providing some much needed constructive criticism!
And, due to the popular outcry I have abandoned the roundabout version and it will not be made available to the public. Instead it will reside perpetually in isolation in the depths of my plugins folder. :P
Accordingly it will allow for more of my attention to be directed at the BSC Park Compliant Memorial Park and its packaging. ;D
Here's a view of it in the park system, followed by a close-up.

It blends in perfectly :) I'll be sure to use that roundabout version, though it will need a quick trip through LE to be suitable for the PSSO :P
M
No. Don't abandon it to the depths $%Grinno$% make it available to those who wish to have it.
As a roundabout filler some folks do like it  and some don't  , thats just the way it is. ::)
Those who wish to use it, will and those who don't, won't.
Your work is improving on a daily basis and I will certainly use the park version.
But please do something about those terrible palm trees I see :o $%Grinno$%

M if i could smack you right now i would M8... Why you are abandoning the Roundabout version, please don't perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty please don't do that... I do really want it, please with sugar on top dont hide it.......
I'm a bit pissed off right now, so I'm going to keep this brief.
Thanks for your comments, it is, as usual, much appreciated.
All projects are currently on hold because I deleted them accidentally :angrymore: :angrymore:
This includes my reworking of DA's LOTs (not too much work done, but still enough), my reworking of Debussyman's Cathedrals (again, not much done, but the Notre Dame and St. Thomaskirche is lost) and the LGBT memorial park and roundabout.
I'll keep you posted. :angrymore: :angrymore:
Did you try a file recovery program? Usually, if you delete a file, only the entry in the file allocation table will be marked as "free", so there is a good chance that you can recover your work - just do it quick now, otherwise, the "free" space on the HD might get overwritten with other files. Download "PC Inspector File Recovery" and run a search on the drive where you stored the files - if you're lucky, they're still there and can be copied to another drive.
Andreas is a god. ;)
Ladies and Gentleman, regular programming will continue shortly. ;D I managed to recover the files. Thank you very, very much Andreas!

I like what you've done with the Peristyle, and it's a good back story.
M, such wonderful lots. Please don't abandon the roundabout. This may actually give me a reason to use roundabouts.

Hi M. What a coincidence. I just discovered the chilitomato site yesterday! I downloaded the Christmas version of the Grand Prince Alashka Hotel so now with your camelots I have both versions on my comp. Will the camelot work on both or just the original as the Desc and lot files for the Xmas version weren't taken out by the cleanitol file. Also the CAM Essentials.dat is on the remove list for the latest BSC Essentials so I presume I can leave it out? Also you might want to update the cleanitol file to reflect this. ;D
Fantastic work by the way on all your lotting. Love both the BSC Park and the roundabout filler version by the way. Keep em' coming. &apls &apls
Hey there and thanks for the comment!
EDIT: Sorry, I just checked the file in the LE and the Christmas version does not show up on the CAM lot. So you can use both of them at the same time.
I do, however, recommend that you remove any growable non-CAM descriptor and lot as to prevent it from interfering with the proper functioning of the CAM. :)
Also, I have learned that the CAM Essentials are now included in the BSC Essentials, and as such it is now obsolete. So you can safely remove the CAM essentials if you have installed the BSC Essentials.
Firstly, sorry about the double post, and secondly, I apologise for any confusion I may have caused on your part.
Attached is a growable lot and descriptor for the Christmas version of the aforementioned with the same stats as the non-Christmas version.

It is indeed my pleasure, and thank you for your wonderful comment. ;D I am also sorry, yet again, for any inconvenience I might have caused.
Also, with regards to Dorra Bay and the Marina Residence, both of them have already been done and I actually dare say that all of ks's BATs (with the exception of the stadiums) have been made CAMeLOTs or CAMpatible.
I would recommend that you use this thread to hunt them down. They are listed there.

Hey guys, sorry I havent been around for a while my internets were down. Anyway, I am currently not using CAM at the moment, but I am still BATting away. Infact I havent played SC4 for a couple months now, I only boot it up to run a BAT test. Anyway since, CAM is currently not installed on my system feel free to upload the HKSAS for me on the LEX. I meant to do it earlier, but since I am not using CAM at the moment, I cant get it to appear since it is a reward and not a plop. Thanks in advance!
You know, it's usually common courtesy to ask permission to upload a BATters files ANYWHERE, before doing so. I'm talking of course about the modded "Babylon" LOT. I'm really not happy that no-one even asked to upload it here, or that they were modding it for the intent of being released (I have no problems with individuals modding it for their own tastes). The modding is great, as is the lot, don't get me wrong.
I'm just not happy that no-one asked me, the person who BATted Babylon, whether they could release it, especially since the readme clearly stated: "Do not upload without my permission anywhere else".
Best Regards
Sixu
Sixu, just to clarify, what M released is merely a lot for your BAT, and none of your files have been uploaded in the process. Your original BAT is linked as a dependency in M's upload description [link] (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1338), without which the lot would contain a brown box.
-Alex (Tarkus)
no problem, like I said I have no objection to the modding (it's an improvement afterall!) I guess I just would have liked to have been told about it (after all it's the integral piece of the LOT).
Hope I haven't kicked up too much fuss about it. :)
(not asking for the whole thing to be scrapped or taken of the exchange). :)
don't get me wrong here 6underground but your BAT was listed properly, and credit was given where it was due, to u of course. since it was listed as a dependency, and the actual BAT did not change, i don't see the problem with it.
thats like saying i have a BAT, but i used a BSC dependency, that i would have to ask for permission to use the BSC dependency? not at all, as long as it's linked to the prop/texture as intended, and credit is given where it's due. i do however see your point, but i just don't think there was any real reason to post it here, rather than sending a PM.
All he's saying, dadyrghluv, is that it would've been nice to tell him that a version was in the works. After all, the original creator should have at least a little say. Now, nothing wrong happened here, he's just a little annoyed that no one told him that his BAT got a new lot and was released on the LEX (sans model, of course). :P
yea thats true SA, i can't disagree with that. i was just merely explaining it.

feel free to upload the HKSAS for me on the LEX.
M4346 will be back from his holidays December 18th, so I think we should wait till then and let him upload it in that case!
Well I guess you can say that I am back and will steadily try and get back into the swing of things. Thank you for your concern and support during my absence, I trust and hope that things will return to normal and the way they were as soon as possible.
As for the allegations and issue raised by 6Undeground, I would just like to state that I did nothing wrong, except follow community convention by creating my own, new lot and descriptor for the original model created by the aforementioned. Furthermore, I did not include or distribute the original model in any way and accordingly I did nothing wrong, infringed no copyright and broke no de facto law.
We do not need to ask for permission when we use propmakers' props, and accordingly the norm in the community has always been to use sc4model files, if and only if, the original is linked as a dependency.
That is all I have to say on the subject, any further issues and queries can be directed to me in PM or via e-mail at the relevant contact details.
Thank you.
Welcome back Marius,

I hope you enjoy this one! And also, a happy belated MLK Day to our American friends! ;D
I hope to showcase some of the photos of my extensive (two and a half month long) holiday soon too! And I guess I should also mention that I got my first real job this year! I'm working as a tutor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pretoria, and I will be tutoring the first years in Political Science and International Political Relations. I'm über excited!
&hlp
Have a good one!
Another excellent release here, that roundabout filler is especially useful.
And I know you'll have fun tutoring, since your drawn to Politics and International Relations like a North Magnet to a South Magnet
 &apls -M- thank you sooooooooooo much!!! these are wonderful......
Hi M is back &dance
Looks good.
The parks were definitely worth the wait! So glad you're back "home"!
I've been away for soooo long and I come back to find this and the whole cam thing. I'm in complete awe to all sc4d people's work. It realy what brought me back to playing SC.
Falling off the wagon for 10 months is a hard blow. Now I have much sisyphean updating to do. Dl's, cleanups, readme, readme, readme, more dl's, more cleaning, moving, organzing, check forums, more readme, more dl..... I feel like a bug stuck in a loop LOL (but it's all pleasure ;) )
So I come across this great CAM pack In reference to Oneil's CAM. Great job M4346!
But don't you think Flatbush, Dakota, Astoria building all should be r$$$ or the very least R$$. I favor realism in sc and I don't think any R$ can afford to live in this buildings unless they were crumbling down. (maybe they appear in the game with the abandon skin and I missed it).
I think im going to adjust them with the reader to R2/3 and I wanted to find out if it is safe to do so.
Thank you for all your work! &apls
It is safe to do so but they will not have the correct balanced stats from the X-Tool so I wouldn't recommend it. These were made to fill a gap in the CAMelots as we needed more R$ from the upper stages.
Thanks barby :)
I have a list of at least 25 high rise R$ buildings (most are new york or communist styles) on 50-60 lots. like SFBT plattenbau, Low-Wealth Residential Mega Lots by T-rex, GrynderApartments, GatoaHi, CARCH InferiorArms, BLaM Fjellbekk, NDEX Communist Tenement and many more. I can compile a list for you if you need more R$ Cams
btw ONeil CAM Condos.zip isn't on the cam lists.
I'd like to hear your opinion on the following:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FPelindabaNuclearPlant.jpg%3Ft%3D1212313319&hash=889c6b42be3fba96fdc50ca1c5272f83258a5387)
It needs to be lotted and I was thinking of putting SNM fences around it. Any thoughts as to lotting?
The stats are from the X-Tool, and the price is a bit high at $1 584 000 or something like that. :P
Thoughts?
Hey Marius
its looking good there, could do with a bit more junk and stuff
fences would be good
welcome back :)
Joe
EDIT: nice avatar, and heh, i thought as much :) ↓
LOL! No, it's not lotted yet. I was just showing the buildings' layout. :P It needs fences, roads, trees and all sorts of other stuff still! hehe
And thanks! :) It's good to be back, whatever that will hold remains to be seen. ;D
poor joe didn't catch that bit about still working on it lol.. Marius its truly is great to see you back and lotting again!!! The stats I do agree are way to high at what you said a cool million to plop? No no no no thats too steep $%Grinno$% SNM fences would look good here, I say so... Also you do have a sweet new avatar at that too, BTW what is that creature anyways its funnie though!!!!
Looking really nice, very realistic texture and overall modeling. Definiatly better than the original one $%Grinno$%
Altho 1.5 million is indeed rather steep, I would recommend keeping it at the values the X-Tool suggests.
I've visited a nuclear power plant once, and it is indeed very, very well protected against all sorts of dangers, so fences are a minimum. ;)
Hello, Marius.
It is very nice to be able to chat with you again. How have you been and how has school been?
Your nuclear power plant is simply stunning. I am quite impressed with it and certainly would use it. I look forward to reviewing it once you've lotted it.
Great work, Marius. Thank you for the preview.
Regards,
Gary
good to see you around Marius...looking forward to the lot
i would love to see the security fences in use. maybe a security gate would be good too. a gaurd gate building wouldnt hurt either, since after 9/11, they are gaurded by the national gaurd now.
love the textures, not too clean, not too dirty/grainy.

I think I might adjust the price downward
a bit, but not too much as it is
much larger than the Maxis one as illustrated below:

Thank you very much Gary, it's good to have a little break from school as I'm finished writing my third year exams, and only have two electives left on the 5th and 10th. Other than that varsity has been great this year thus far and I'm enjoying it very much!
I haven't mentioned it here, I believe, but I'm going to the US (Washington D.C., Iowa - Des Moines and Ames - and Atlanta) from the 1st - 15th of July and I'm quite excited about that as well. I was selected by the US Diplomatic Mission (Embassy) in South Africa to represent South Africa and my University as a Youth Ambassador, with the opportunity to engage in volunteering and public presentation in these cities and learn about the US culture and history. :) I'm really looking forward to that!

As said previously, fences are a minimum. Here in South Africa the Koeberg Nuclear Plant, for example, has a 5km radius secure zone. The only problem, however, is that such a big lot (30 x 32) will require many props and textures and we all know that there is a limit to that. *sigh*
I'll see what I'll do in the mean time, it might mean that the lot would have to be rather empty with "bare necessities" in place though.
EDIT: Just to make sure we're clear, the props for the Nuclear Plant were made by El Burro. :) And the reason I wanted to re-lot it was two-fold: (1) to give it CAM statistics and (2) to give it a fence. :P
Good start. And a million might be a tad high, but well worth every penny. I assume you get big bang for your buck with that one.
Good start, but I really don't see why there is a chemeny higher than the cooling ones
Cooling chemeney are useally the highest things in a nuclear station
Marius, what a grand return! :D
Good to see Steve has allowed you to play with us as well... ::)

That will certainly set a severe restriction to your lot, as 30×32 already uses 960 base textures.
Since 1,280 is the maximum number of items allowed, that would leave only 320 for overlay textures and props.
Maybe split it up and make it modular, each still being a functional nuclear plant... &Thk/(
That would also allow the player to build roads between them, which will reduce the problem with the crime in megalots.

The original El Burro prop pack included the very tall smoke stack and it was subsequently included in his lot. I've never seen a nuclear power plant with such a tall smoke stack, as it is rather a common feature (at least here in SA) associated with Coal Power Plants (that also then have cooling towers).
I'm thinking of removing it in favour of realism, unless someone can tell me why it is necessary. I understand the need for such a tall smoke stack to counter valley climates and specifically temperature inversion which may be a problem in cities.

It's more a case of varsity allowing me to play nicely again with you people :P I'm not so sure how that will impact on my sanity though. ;)
In the light of our discussion, I think I'll make this "modular" because of restrictions in lotting and to allow for a more customisable nuclear plant complex. The end-user can then combine it with the SNM fences and gatehouses to their heart's content! :)

Cunning way out. Would also make it cheaper and easily expandable.
Hello Marius, I'm very glad to see you again!
Your new nuclear power plant can be an excellent BAT. Here are a few of my thoughts about it:
1. The chimney looks very good, but it is not necessary in the nuclear power plant. No flue gas is produced here. Stephane is right.
2. Looking at your picture I was thinking about the function of particular buildings:
- The reactor: Everybody can see where is it ;D - and it looks very good.
- Two long buildings - I suppose these are power blocks (power units) with huge turbines inside them. Power lines should start from these buildings, so you should provide substations close to them (you can use existing ones from an existing high tension power lines set, I don't remember but I suppose it's in STEX)
- The third building close to the reactor - I suppose it is a dispatching center for the reactor and all other installations remote control, this building should include also the heat exchange unit (the "dirty" radioactive water heated in the reactor goes to the unit and heats the "clean" water which then goes to power blocks and moves turbines. In fact the principle is very simple). You made pipelines from reactor to this building, and you should provide pipelines from it to power blocks.
- Cooling towers: You have two power blocks, so you don't need to have more than two cooling towers. They are very efficient. It would be very good to make this plant modular, the player will be able to place cooling towers in bigger distance ffrom other buildings.
You should also provide pipelines between power blocks and cooling towers, and from cooling towers to the heat exchange building (cool water must return to it, then it is heated again and so on)
Real cooling towers are a bit more slender. They have parabolic shape.
Towers on pictures above are from the coal power plant, but their shape is the same. Look at them:

Thanks for stopping by Adam, and for your very good, sound advice. I will, however, stress again that I did not make the models but am merely re-lotting them with CAM-statistics and am also, now, making them 'modular'. :)
I have omitted the smoke stack and have made each of the buildings modular as follows:
- The Reactor Building and the Reactor (they were batted together)
- Two out-buildings (separately) which may be, as you pointed out, the power units
- A cooling tower
The result is as follows (in the order outlined above):
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FPelindabaNuclearPlantComplex-Reacto.jpg&hash=b062d456d43442ae437c20d476a150233d3cc35e)

This would allow for one out building / power unit and one cooling tower, or both power units and two cooling towers. Whichever the end-user may prefer. :)
LOTting this appears to be a bit out of my league though, because as Robin pleads:

I love trees (living in green and tree-y Africa) and subsequently they always dominate my LOTs. &ops
I hope the trees above aren't too much? I just don't know what to do on these LOTs. Trucks? Which ones? How?
Any ideas?! ()what()
Thanks all for your feedback and support thus far!
If you look at the photo above it seems to be green with lots of parking. And if you consider the large number of people that work there, and the size of the parking at the springfield one :D, the rest of the space should probably be that.
M,
So far so good my friend. And I highly doubt this LOTting will be out of your league.
I think trees look good around office buildings and parking lot, but not too much. I think one needs to remember that in commercial and industrial areas the plants/trees were most likely planted and should look as if there were. Evenly spaced, not too much as it cost more.
Anyways, in one of your next updates could you place everything where you think it should be so I can get the over all feel again with the way you are LOTting things now. I know it's modular and the LOTs can be placed any where, but you and I know that we invision certain LOTs in certain places.
BTW, you are one of the reasons I LOT today. ;)

Marius,
You divided your lot very wisely. You will have to decide which lot will be the functional one, I suppose it will be the reactor building.
I have a little idea - maybe one day in future you will want to make another functional lot harmonizing with power blocks and cooling towers and with another statisctics, to be able to make a power plant of another kind? ;)
The greenery along parkings look very good! I understand Robin's point of view, but I spent last 20 years in various industrial plants and I can say there is much grass (and some trees) both inside them and in their closest surrounding. I will look for pictures instead of using too much words. In fact, we have excellent custom industrial buildings in SC4, but the best of them look very old - at least 70-80 years or even more. Fukuda's creations (although they are very good) look very dirty and it is also not quite realistic to create the whole industrial district using such stuff. It would be good to change this situation.
As for various props - I will think and look for RL pictures next few days.
Adam
looking rather amazing in here... I like the modularity of it

That's one of the burning questions now: should the main building (reactor and reactor building) be the power plant and the other peripheral buildings be mere "eye candy" or should they also contribute to the out-put capacity?
Furthermore, have a look at what I've done thus far (in terms of greenery, layout, etc.) and tell me what you (and the others) think. ;D
Thank you so much Adam, Robin, Diggis and Pat for your feedback it is really much appreciated.

Here's the reactor building and reactor, the power units and the cooling towers laid out as I would like it - along with SNM fences and gatehouses. This is not my ideal layout, but something I put together quickly. Notice the spaces that can now be filled with parking lots, or whatever the heart desires. In my case I opted for trees:

Hey M... would it be possible to set one as the reward from plopping the other?
btw, its looking awesome in here :)
Joe
I agree with having two cooling towers for one reactor, this is the norm.
But the cooling towers should be a separate lot, without those two long buildings (indeed, what are they, turbine buildings or emergency diesel generators). Not all NPPs do have cooling towers, those build in cold climates with an abundant supply of water nearby don't need them, so they should be an option. The turbines should be placed together (in the same lot) with the nuclear island - and this should be all-fenced. The towers may not be have fencing.
Consider making a water intake tubes lot (placed underwater only). I made one for my NPP (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=37&threadid=74413&STARTPAGE=4#1137765), but I think it will look disproportionately small with the models you are using (btw mine is almost abandoned, but if somenone wishes to keep working on this, I would be happy to hand over my work till now).
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg126.imageshack.us%2Fimg126%2F2879%2Fnpplotft7.jpg&hash=6889a8428115684ab07fb6fe4404025d4d6ec247)
My lot as of today. Only the generator building and an auxiliary one are made (and the lightposts too).
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg126.imageshack.us%2Fimg126%2F2210%2Fwaterintakelc4.jpg&hash=67295d1f5bb93e9e67a3556a9065465cec66526a)
The water intake.
Other bits you may want to add:
- An electric substation (there are several released, I can recall jestarr's and fukuda's). It can be inside the main lot, next to the generators). There is also a technique for somehow "Transit-Enabling" a lot for connecting electric wires, but I haven't experimented with this.
- Some taller lightpoles. Try those by great chozo. I have made some for my own plant, but I don't know how they will look with yours, plus you will have to attach (or even remake) the lightcones.
Power output (and subsequently plop and maintenance costs) are way too high. I had released a set of NPPs on the STEX in the past and tried to make convert power output to SC4 units. Checked real world power stats, and concluded that an a 1000MW PP would power some 1,000,000 of people (both residences and workplaces). A quite good conversion factor would be times 100, eg a 1000MW PP corresponds roughly to 100.000MWh/month in SC4 (don't try to do the math, SC4 is completely off-scale). The biggest NPP in the world is (will be) Areva's EPR (currently under construction), a 1600MWe PP (it should be some 160,000MWh/mo in SC4). Also, price for electricity should be slightly more than coal (not 0.18), and Plop-Cost/MW even higher than SC4's NPP).
And I don't agree with RippleJet, the auxiliary/optional lots (towers, water intake etc) should not be NPPs themselves (only the main lot should be), these can be power plants so that they appear in the power menu (and next to the main lot's button) but have some a very low output, 1-2MWh (if it can't be 0), an almost infinite lifespan and zero plop/bulldoze and maintenance costs (this won't harm the game at all, they are considered only "decorative").
Before I continue, I just need to make sure that we're all on the same page here and that we all know what happens in this thread. :P
First of all, I do not, cannot and do not intend to ever BAT, and accordingly this thread is aptly titled: M's
LOT Studio. Yes, I do "mod" things to make them LOTable; and yes I do use Photoshop and make READMEs, but apart from LOTting and packaging, I do not BAT. Accordingly, and second of all, these
models are not mine, and as such I am
always bound to the limitations of, first and foremost, the game and then the limitations imposed by the BATter.
As such I would appreciate constructive contributions and criticisms in terms of
lot layout and other lot-related aspects (aesthetics, functionality, realism, etc.) but would not be able to do very much in terms of criticisms of the models or props
in themselves.
I hope all of that is understood. ()stsfd()

Hey M... would it be possible to set one as the reward from plopping the other?
It is possible, but I'm not quite sure whether it is feasible and I am not - at the moment - considering it. Especially not in the light of Cogeo's argument below - it seems unnecessary.

Yes, I agree. My experience with NPPs dictate the necessity for
two cooling towers in warmer climates - as is the case in South Africa. Also note that
the cooling towers and out-buildings are separate LOTs and eventually the End-User would be able to place any number of cooling towers that his / her heart desires, and would be able to decide whether or not to include the out-buildings (labelled 001 & 002 on the BAT itself).
I don't know what El Burro intended their use be, I didn't ask, and am merely - as pointed out above - working within the constraints imposed by the BATs. Accordingly I will take seriously Adam's suggestion of making other power plants using these models, specifically the creation of a Coal Power Plant by using the two out-buildings, the cooling towers and the tall smoke stack.
Further, I have fenced the Reactor and I also fenced the cooling towers (allowing access through a little gate) for purely safety reason (and not to limit access due to security reasons). It is mainly to keep little and / or naughty children from climbing up the tower and so forth. :P
QuoteConsider making a water intake tubes lot (placed underwater only).
I think, in all honesty, seeing as I am not a NPP expert or even a BATter for that matter, that this technicality can be left to the End-User who favours realism and can as such then modify it to their heart's desire in the LE. I took up this project with the hope of relotting the beautiful plant for my personal use, and then sharing it with the community purely as a secondary intention.
QuoteOther bits you may want to add:
- An electric substation (there are several released, I can recall jestarr's and fukuda's). It can be inside the main lot, next to the generators). There is also a technique for somehow "Transit-Enabling" a lot for connecting electric wires, but I haven't experimented with this.

I think adding sub-stations and powerlines will limit the freedom of the End-User, and would also inevitably add to the dependency burden. Yet again, I believe that if the End-User's circumstances necessitate the addition of sub-stations and powerlines, that can very easily be done via the LE with their choice of sub-station and line.

I have reconfigured the stats for the plant since posting the original values and can't remember them off the top of my head. I will take your concerns into account, but also know that this was modded primarily by the PIM-X and its values that have been correlated with the CAM. As we all know the CAM makes immense cities possible and as such an upward surge in output capacity for CAMeLOT power plants is, at least in my opinion, justified. I'll have the other modders using PIM-X comment on this. To this end, I used a 0.025 fill degree for the reactor and it gave me, I think, in excess of 200 000MWh/mo. I also don't think that a plop cost of less than 200 000 is justifiable. I'll talk to RJ et al about this.
Furthermore, I agree that the auxiliary buildings should be adjusted to have little or no output capacity and will take into account your suggestions in terms of that.
Thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it and it has added to my perspective and understanding.
Now, with most of the technicalities aside, I need to know what you (pl.) think of the lot(s)! ()stsfd()

This discussion may very well lead to adjusting the values in PIM-X.
Currently they are directly based off the in-game plants,
where nuclear power is produced at 0.1875 § per MWh.
The in-game coal plant's production cost is 0.0417 § per MWh.
I think the production cost per MWh should be lower, the bigger the plant is, especially for nuclear plants... ;)
Marius hmm I am still not to fond of the parking lot but its looking good, the over all lotting is simply yummies!!!
Maybe these models are not the most suitable for use with the "automated" features of PIM-X. They are immense (check the pin in the previous page, for a comparison with SC4's model). They must be amongst the biggest ever made. PIM-X will return extreme results. Players won't like having the power at steps of 600.000MWh (200.000MWh is a bit much as well, but much more manageable). Also check the turbine building on my lot. It's for the biggest NPP on earth, and it's "only" about 95m (ca 6 tiles) - I have used real scale. Compare it with El-Burro's models and you can see how immense they are.
As for decoration, I can see you are using Maxis' nuclear steam effect. This is actually designed for a the SC4 model, and doesn't look realistic either. I would suggest that you use the natural gas plant smoke one. You must put a lot of them though, to achieve a more realistic effect. This dissapears very fast, but if you put some (many) of these together, you can get a good effect. Also you can make a timed prop (eg December to August) using this effect (see how this is implemented by Maxis), to have the tower not steaming for some months. It would also be nice to make another (similar) timed prop, visible during a different period of the year - the "idle" ranges can partially overlap. Then you can have two Cooling Tower lots (say A and B), each using only one of the above props (effects). That is you will have both towers steaming for most of the year, but for some few months only one will be steaming (for a short time, both towers would be idle). If you want to make something even more advanced, you can make another two timed props, with ranges non-overlapping with the above. These can be used for emulating a "reduced power" effect (this can be done by just putting fewer effects). Eg for tower A, you can have December to May running at full power, June to August at reduced power, and September to November non-functional. Just an idea.
Due to technical difficulties the Pelindaba Nuclear Power Plant Complex is currently on hold.
BUT... to celebrate my
straight A's this semester, ;D :satisfied: as well as my two year and two months anniversary / 26 monthiversary :P , I have thought it necessary to create:
The MME Schoeman College

QuoteA tertiary education institution named after the Head of Department of Political Science at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Prof MME (Maxi) Schoeman. The institution specialises in Political Science, International Relations, as well as Public Administration and Management.
Now, as you can see it is not finished yet, and I have merely represented you with a visualisation of the lot layout and the building of choice. In this case, it is Bandito's Lufthansa Building (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=2667&v=1). It has the BSC Parks Base Texture and can tie in with the BSC Parks system.
It is currently a normal College (with a rather large capacity), but I will also create a CO$$7 growable version with the exact lot texture and prop layout. ;D
Furthermore, just to assure some of you that I am still playing the game, here's a shot of my latest region (the first one I've actually started playing on in over a year). It is called uKahlamba, which is the Zulu word for the Drakensberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakensberg) (Afrikaans for "Dragon's Mountain") mountain range. I thought uKahlamba, which means "barrier of spears", is quite fitting for the NHP Sleeping Giant Map that I'm using. :)

The city (hastily titled
14) is a rural community with 909 IR jobs, 269 Commercial jobs, and 2 928 residents. Most of those residents live in low wealth residential areas (and particularly in the township to the east of the town), working predominantly on the surrounding farms. The farms include vineyards, sugar cane, wheat, corn, bananas and lots of equestrian estates.

I was wondering if someone had a more creative name for the little settlement, other than 14? :P

The growable looks exactly like that, but it is called the Institute for Policy Analysis and specialises in Public and Foreign Policy Analysis for your government, multinational / transnational corporations, individuals and anyone that would like consultation on the formulation, implementation and implications of public or foreign policy. Nifty, no? :P

NHP MLS MME Schoeman College
Marius daang you work fast!!! Remember while on your trip here, make sure you take alot of pics or even video if you get the chance... BTW what happend with the Nuke Plant? I see you said on hold for tech difficulties, just wondering what it was?
Oh don't you worry Pat, I'll definitely wear out the camera! :P
I've decided to put the NPP on hold because the X-Tool and I are not agreeing on how to proceed. :P I'll sort it out a.s.a.p. and have it ready for release before I leave, in other words, in next week. ;D
After some feedback I've updated and repackaged the college and here's a shot of it at night, along with some information about it (i.e. menu appearance and description and capacity)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FMMESchoemanCollegeCones.jpg&hash=f44a4c09b3c153dccebf6abcda1ec2ed66e962d1)
Yes, a double post... shoot me. :P
Just posting to inform you that I'm packaging the
NHP MLS Pelindaba Nuclear Plant Complex
I've re-modded it, and now there's a Main / Reactor building and the auxiliary buildings. All modular of course. A special thanks to Tage for making all this possible in the X-Tool / PIM-X. ;D
I've also updated the smoke (from Nuclear smoke effect to natural gas smoke effect as suggested by Cogeo). I tried to use Chozo's highway lights, but they "cut" into the buildings and therefore don't work. Sorry.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa30%2FElytheria_Reloaded%2FPelindabaSmoke.jpg&hash=f55108ff715448b12e1735634eec0678e54f2596)
If all goes well it will be packaged within the next few hours and off to scrutineering and testing soon.
Wow, nice lots -M-! Schoeman college looks really great, as does the Nuclear Plant, the steam looks really neat &apls
Have fun in your trip aswell!
Thanks IAGTEY :P
And just for Pat:

The Pelindaba Nuclear Complex
has just been uploaded for scrutineering by the team and will be available in the near future.
Ooh yeah! ;D I want to download it, build it, download it, build it!
I'm off soon and have, for the time being, set aside all SC4-related matters. ;D I'll tend to the NPP and College when I get back after the 16th of July, they have both been scrutineered and tested and I just have to make a few minor adjustments.
I did, however, want to share photos of my aunt's recent vacation along the coast of South Africa and Namibia, it is of course not all of it, but something I thought you'd find interesting and beautiful. ;)

A "typical" German-style church somewhere in Namibia. ;D
Just read up on your schedule for the trip to the US Marius. Looks like a good one, its great that you'll be in DC on July 4th, I'll be in Europe so I'm going to miss independence day :P New York's fireworks are better though :P All the stuff around the mall is fun to visit. I must warn you however, Des Moines isn't the most exciting city in the country :P Though I'm sure you'll have fun. Atlanta sounds great (be warned, airport sucks). I hope you have a great time in the US, shame you couldn't visit NYC &mmm
The work on the NPP looks great, but if I remember correctly, isn't Pelindaba where the South African nuclear weapons were developed? :P
