I tried to download something fromt he LEX but the dependency list :o made me dizzy. What I want is to know what prop packs contain what props. I want a greater variety of fire trucks to use in Lot Editor but I don't know what's what???

Your question doesnt make sense... You tried to download something and the lot had a bunch of dependancies. In most cases many of these dependancies are used on many lots and you should either already have them or it is useful for you to have them. If you dont like the dependancies, dont download the lot, plain and simple.
Now, I would LOVE to tell you what prop pack has what, but I cant really do that. There are some prop packs out there lets take SG's for example, that have 1000's of files. SG has made 1000s of little props for you to use from flowers to cars to small homes etc. Noone really knows everything that is in these prop packs anymore as they are old and have been added to over and over again. The only way to find out it by skimming through it yourself.
As for your firetrucks, no one person has made multiple fire trucks really. They are spread out amoungst all the prop packs like everything else. The prop packs are organized by person rather than type, as if you did it by type EVERY lot would have 100 dependancies.
