Title: Question: Multiple Overlays on One Tile
Post by: Moshi on September 18, 2007, 07:01:23 AM
I've been using the Lot Editor for over six months, and have used the "press D twice" method to place multiple overlay textures on one tile. However, I was told earlier today that using this method would have conflicting overlays at multiple zoom levels. And so some questions to the devoted community:

1: Would the overlays conflict with each other on multiple zoom levels?

2: Would the overlays show up fine if they are used in different parts of the tile?

3: Is it safe?

This should illustrate the problem you'd be facing with multiple overlays:

First, lets make a simple lot with two overlay textures:

Then, let's plop a few of them in game.
Sometimes they do look as intended:

But equally often they won't:

You can never control in which order the overlay textures are displayed in game.
