Title: Parking Textures by WalkingSnake aka Sc4jeeks

I've had a few very nice PM's exchanged with SC4D member WalkingSnake, who is the same as Sc4jeeks over at ST.
He made a number of parking textures which have been rather popular by lotters making shopping malls.
Unfortunately those textures had an IID conflict, causing them to interfere with textures made by pmiller19574.

It is my pleasure to tell you that we have now corrected those IID's and uploaded all 32 textures on the BSC LEX (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1181).
I want to thank WalkingSnake (Sc4jeeks) for letting us correct them and upload them to the LEX.

Now, I also hope this would pull Bobbo662 back from RL and encourage him into making malls again...
And I also know that Filasimo is lotting Heblem's Plaza Mall using these textures ;)

hehehe you caught me and I also have noted that I was as well in the plaza mall thread. From a firsthand point of view while lotting the plaza mall with these textures, they are awesome. It is tricky to get around to use with some parking lot intersections but I am making the best of it with what textures and overlays I have in available in me LE thanks so much for the creators and for RippleJet and Barby and the BSC for releasing these really great lots  :thumbsup:

I'd also like to note that anyone wanting to expand these is welcome to modify or change them however and release a texture pack. I know there are many possible textures and variants that I left out, and I'd love to see the set expanded. :)

i second that for there are some parking lot intersections i needed but am making the best of things but yeah i hope someone develops more sets from what you started WS  :thumbsup:

It's been a while, but I believe the I made the textures to match the look of PEG's parking lot/drive textures, if that helps anyone. I didn't make any transitions to make the change smooth, however.

There's only so much I could do in little time.  :P

These are amongst the best one can find for parking lots and I am very happy that they can now be used by the entire community ... great work!  :thumbsup:

Love it. but couldn“t find it in either transport menu or the recreasion menu. Can it be that i have another, older or what?

You need them for making lots. You will find them in LotEditor. ;)

And they will certainly be needed as dependencies for some coming lots. :thumbsup:

THANK GOD! I really enjoyed using WalkingSnake (Sc4jeeks) parking lot textures.  Thanks guys for getting them to work!

I'm sorry, I know - RL has really grabbed ahold of me - but I did start BATting again in fact yesterday I've started on a grocery store, Price Chopper - though what I've sent to you Ripplejet, I've got to retexture them again b/c I've got a newer computer and I placed all my textures, BATs and Gmax files onto my external hard drive.

But not to stray off this topic - I think this has really excited me to get back into BATting.  :D

Bobby is that really you poking in from RL woohooo.... I cant wait to see how you use these updated textures Bobby as you are god of strips/box/freestanding stores bats and the parking lot master....  Kitsune are you thinking like what NDEX has out there of civic/commercial parking lots?

This is great that the parking textures were fixed, but now one of the parking lots I downloaded that used the textures doesn't show them now, I guess because they were updated. Instead of the texture, it's just transparent. It sucks because I used that parking lot quite a bit, and I have no idea how to fix the lot to show the texture. :/ Is there any way of getting the old ones back?

I honestly have no idea. I didn't fix the textures, and I originally knew nothing of the bug, I simply uploaded what I was told to upload. I didn't know that these textures would ruin every lot made with them.

I personally don't like the idea that there are two versions of the textures floating around, because now you have lots that were made with one and people who have downloaded the other.

Can RippleJet or somebody comment on this?

Of course! :)

The old textures by Sc4jeeks have conflicting texture instance ID's.
Unfortunately the only way to update old lots to use the new textures is to open them in LotEditor and replace the old textures with the new ones.

The best thing would of course be to ask anyone who has made lots including the old textures to update their lots with the new textures.
Bobbo(662) is doing this at the moment.

You can still have the old textures in your plugins, as long as you are cautious about them,
knowing that if you ever use any lots having textures made by pmiller19574 you will risk facing the texture conflict.
And if you ever make lots yourself, do not have the old textures in your plugins folder, only the new ones.

It is good that the new textures, not having the IID conflict, go by the name of WalkingSnake.
That way new lots will have them as a dependency, and not the old conflicting ones by the name of Sc4jeeks.

If you have run Cleanitol to remove the old textures, you can still find the old textures in a folder under My Docs\SimCity 4\BSC_Cleanitol.
You can copy them back to your plugins folder from there, as long as you are aware of the conflict mentioned above and won't use them in LotEditor.

If you have only one or a few old lots that use the old textures, you can also send it/them to me and I'll replace the old textures by the new ones. :thumbsup:
I cannot however upload any of these old lots, without proper permission from the old lot maker. But I can send them back to you for your personal use. ;)

Unfortunately, I recently cleaned out my plugins folder so I no longer have the old files. But once my internet connection stops being so spotty and ST comes up again I'll send the files to you (there's only one lot that I have that I know of that uses the old textures).

As frustrating as it may be, it doesn't take more than a minute or two to open up the LE and replace the bugged textures. :)

To make the download button appear, you have to register separately at the LEX. Good luck! :thumbsup:
