Can I make a roundabout at this avenue intersection in the pic?? Never dealt with this one before..non traffic light coming from bottom Ave.....don't know how this would play out...should I leave it alone or is this a setup for disaster?

it is a setup for disaster and you can, with a little work, turn this into an AVe-roundabout. you need the NAM to do that, so i hope you have it already.
I have the NAM but only see 1 option for a diagonal link. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
if you plop the roundabout, then you should just be able to drag diagonals off it... (dont quote me on that though)

Thanks a million Star.torture..that worked perfectly. Thank you too Dragonshardz!

Just thought I would comment ;)
Realistically, a junction like this in real world would/should work (really don't see why not). This aside though....
This is one of the many avenue junctions (some 35+) added to the game with NAM to give players more variety/flexibility/userability than the standard avenue junctions maxis gave us. This particular junction & all other known avenue junctions were designed the way they were on purpose (due to the coding of these, some unknown avenue junctions may exist).
As for the traffic lights: when I added these junctions, traffic lights were not high on my list of priorities. The Stop Paths should be there though, so they should stop still (but considering the lack of Traffic Lights, they may not - think stop paths are tied in with this in some way to some degree, I don't remember). So yeah, I can imagine it causing disaster for some silly sim drivers lol
Thought I'd post a result pic. ()stsfd()
Well while I'm here......I'm not sure what to do when the roads meet on the diagonal avenues sometimes. Don't want 2 intersections within 2 tiles....you know. I want as much flow as possible but as you can see in the second pic, I decided to get rid of a crossing road or 2.
looks great!
Yes, the result looks great. Thanks, NAM team!
I sometimes wonder about these things. Some of the junctions would never work in real life: too sharp curves etc. The Standardisation Institute and the Traffic Safety Board would forbid them. But as SC4 is not a shrunken copy of real life, but just a symbolisation of it I can live with the junctions we have.
But it raised another question. We know that in real life junctions slow down the flow of traffic, but do they do this in SC4 also? Is it wise to make the number of junctions as low as possible, or doesn't it matter in the game?
